One of the most shocking things to me is that CPS had been in that house prior to Summer's disappearance, and they chose to leave those children in a filthy house overrun with roaches and rodents, repeated lice infestations, no working toilet , no door on the bathroom, exposed electrical wires, etc.etc. Shameful, imo.

I believe Candus feels guilty that we all know she's not being honest. She knows we know. It's eating at her here. I think her thought is if she would just be honest, she wouldn't feel so much pressure from all of us. That pressure is what she wants to stop.
But, she knows she can't be honest cause then she and Don will be behind bars. It's a lose lose for her. 🤷🏽♀️🚩😬

I do have one question for Steve and Chris. Back in the early reviews Steve would do with Chris, one of them spoke about words ending in "LY" like "actually" and "literally" and "seriously."

After I watched Chris’s segment with Candus a couple of years ago I had the distinct feeling that Summer drowned at the watering hole. It was something about the story of Summer being asleep in the truck on the way home. Just my random gut-feeling. After Stephen Sterns said Maddie Soto was “really tired” in his car on the way to school - then LE said she was already dead on that drive - it reminded me of Candus’ story.
I’m fed up with LE it’s ridiculous
Also, the way Candus kind of lost it at the swimming hole seemed like there was real significance to that location with respect to Summer’s disappearance.

@@katladykj13vaWe heard this in the first days after Summer went missing! She also had a son removed and rumors of another daughter also. Between them, Don & CANDUs lost all nine of their children. This was common knowledge.

summershouse reflected so poorly on candus as a mother. she didnt seem to care about anything except her own very immature teen like needs. Drinks, drugs, new t shirts and shiny new vehicles. she was no homemaker thats for sure

Thank you for not giving up on Summers case. What does everyone make of the contrast in the emotional (or lack thereof) responses between Summers mom (CW) and Sebastian’s mom (KP)? I’m referencing the discussion about the clip where CW appeared to be showing genuine emotion.
Fascinating discussion. What about KPs childhood trauma compared to CWs caused them to manifest such different INITIAL emotional responses to the SAME event (a missing child)? I think we’ve all had an easier time identifying the SIMILARITIES between the two mothers that MAY have caused them to INITIATE “events” like this.
Interesting…now that more time has gone by it APPEARS as though KP has begun to have the same long term response as CW (the same is true for each of their husbands with regard to the long term response).
And to be clear…by “long term response” I agree both couples (CP/KP and CW/DW) appear to be moving on with their lives WITHOUT any continued [genuine] effort to find their children and to be quite honest… it seems as though they’ve made more of an effort to appeal the public’s disgust and defend their reputations than to find those kids.
KP has childhood trauma to “draw on” just as CW does isn’t that right? Yet it appears as though KP has made a very minimal effort to even attempt to feign any emotions, let alone let any genuine emotions “slip out”.
Aside from her sister Rosie going missing, didn’t CW say she also suffered SA as a child? Where can I find more information about Rosie’s case?
What consideration is made if any in statement analysis with regard to one’s emotional maturity and or potential psychological/mental/ even learning disorders and level of education? Surely it ALL must play a role right?
Thoughts/Speculation/Observations
I wonder if the difference in these mothers initial responses could have something to do with one (KP) suffering from some sort of psychological or emotional defect/diagnosis (is something as severe as sociopathy or a dissociative disorder possible? Or could she potentially be on the spectrum herself?
Aside from genuinely lacking care, what would cause KP to be lacking with regard to an emotional response? She mostly appears “flat” imo.
CW’s victimization continued throughout her adulthood w/o a break correct? (Wouldn’t that make arrested development more of a factor to consider re: her emotional responses? Was CW ever “rescued” like KP as a child? ) time to process some of her childhood trauma like KP did? If not, that “safe space” she felt with Chris could have potentially been her first experience EVER feeling safe enough to reflect and share. CW in that clip, during that time period was still very much a victim of the same kind of abuse/abuser as she was when she was a child (if her childhood SA is correct/true).
Then CW went on to mary an abuser (DW) who is specifically an alleged/admitted S-Offender right? IMO suffering more abuse at the hands of especially a similar TYPE of abuser (provided it’s true CW was SA’d as a child) would constitute “continual abuse” and be important bc she likely wouldn’t even know what healthy emotions looked or felt like, feigning them without detection would be unlikely wouldn’t it?
The comparison of the two mother’s responses is worth the comparison/ time imo.
Perhaps unlike CW, KP had time for processing and SOME normalcy (when taken away from childhood abuse), she could have learned SOME coping mechanisms or methods of control BUT may have also let some unresolved negative emotions fester, unable to work through them. Didn’t she also learn discipline in the military? And isn’t education a factor?
KP eventually married hubby #1 (Seth who as I understand is much older?) and then later went through a tumultuous divorce (alleged he was abusive) and later with her special needs son in tow (Sebastian), she entered into her current marriage with CP (where some suspect she MAY be experiencing abuse again). The perfect storm? could more abuse in adulthood have triggered all of the negative emotions and perhaps even a fear of abandonment, all things considered.
There are a lot of similarities but also a lot of differences between the two woman. It would be interesting to drill down on where they intersect and to see what if any correlation there is between missing children of (suspected) mothers who may or may not have a history of being abused as children themselves.
@G_hunt57, I’ve read quite a bit about CW, childhood and her first husband and horrible abuse of their two children ( I believe their son being permanently and severely disabled because of it 😢) but can you please clue me in as to KP childhood? TIA
@@donna5815 KPs mother is an RSO as I understand it (as a result of abusing KP). That is the information that CP lost his mind over and blamed one of the PIs for hinting about on a live broadcast on web sleuths a while back. The info was actually already out there but it was magnified to the point I guess he felt the need to address it. It was JLR investigates that first put that info out in a big way I THINK.

Ya when my kids were teens there friends and nieces and nephews would come and tell me everything.when I was a manager same thing with employee. Things I didn't want to know. My husband thought it was crazy. I believe because I didn't judge but was truthful with them. I'm 64 and it still happens crazy

Do the brothers have any information now that they've been taken away from the parents?
Summers case went cold bc Sheriff Lawson was too busy protecting his pedo son and getting his charges lessened for less jail time. Lawson protected his pedo son instead of the victim who was amd is his grand daughter. Sending out a horrible message Hawkins County. The world sees what you do and what is going on.
I think 1 of 2 things happened with Summer….1) Don used her as a payment method or 2) Don was starting to give more special treatment to Summer and his I Love You was more than father and daughter…..Both Don and Candace are jealous people…..Candace eliminated the other woman……Either way slim to no chance she’s still alive……if someone isn’t looking for someone it’s because they don’t feel they need to usually because they already know where she is and aren’t worried or they know it’s a waste of time……….. I also think that it will be one of her brothers who start remembering and putting pieces together once they are older and realize they don’t have to be afraid and what they lived wasn’t normal or when they believe that they are safe and they won’t be killed by talking about it (which is a valid reason if they witnessed or were made to participate in clean up or cover up and know it could happen to them)…….😢…. I also think Candace’s mom moved away for more reasons than have been stated…. And a mother knows her child……if she wasn’t told by Candace or witnessed something she could have been threatened about it…..it seems like until this happened she was a daily constant

I still believe that they know more. Ive always thought she would be found but thought they would have been arrested by now. I dont know for sure what happened but now believe that she is unalived.
