I heard he was supposed to play the lead role in Descendants of the Sun but he recommended Song Joong Ki instead. That would have been an addition to his popularity outside Korea.

I love this Kdrama..i like all character in this drama especially oh soo..His character was played out..most important actor and actress have a good chemistry. This drama was quite refreshing and beautiful. Really amazing cinematography and the beautiful locales where this was shot. I give 5 star for this drama⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Well done👏🏻👏🏻

he also mentioned his close friends like actor lim joohwan- the one sitting beside him in the table, actor soong joongki who's in the army and the actor/reality tv star kwangsoo.. to end his speech he thanked youngie(song hye kyo's character in twtwb-). although she's not present in the awarding ceremony he said that oppa shares this award and honor to her...^_^ congrats to jo in sung! way to go...

He is not underrated tho.... He is one of Korea's A listers or should we say top actors. But I kinda agree, when it comes to international fame, some younger/new actors somewhat overshadowed his name since he hasn't been active in the small screen for some time. I hope he is gonna have a small screen comeback soon tho!!! I hope new kdrama fans can see how good his acting skills are!!!!
