Impressed again Johnny. The bumpers have come up a treat & the car is looking a lot better, even if it still needs the finishing detail. Looking forward to the rest of the journey with this Jag & how you tackle the alloys. Cheers & all the best 👍🏻
Thanks Andy! The wheels are next weekends episode…it’s a little bit of a different angle that I have come from this time but I think the end result is great! Stay tuned!
Good effort right there Johnny. That poor Jag must’ve been driven by some old git in his late 80s, oblivious or just utter unaware of his/hers/they/them/whatever surroundings 😢.
I do the same as you buying cheaper cars and renovating them and selling them on so I do really enjoy your channel. If I may just make one observation the drivers door you fitted needs some further alinement but all in all a cracking job
I generally only flat prior to polishing my when the clear coat is really in a bad state, such as here on this Jaguar. Usually I only use a clay bar prior to polishing to remove any embedded contaminants.
Your the first person I’ve seen use an air brush and that’s a great thing as I was thinking of doing the same but thought it wasn’t the done thing so thanks for the confidence kicker I’m definitely gonna give that ago on my mine now 👍 jag looks lovely again to 👌
@@JohnnyGetsCash myself and Jake were thinking that! Looks like its already been one, but usually smell and interior give it away. It's too nice for a dog car though! Classy tip run wagon. Is it diesel or the 3.0 petrol?
Certainly looking good so far, what a huge difference from when it came in, if I remember correctly, you said it was one owner, lower than average mileage, and full service history ? That being the case, you have certainly got it to a condition that matches it's history, hopefully someone will recognise that fact, and buy it ! Very best of luck with the final part of the story, I'm really looking forward to it.
Thank you! Yes she has the makings of a great car and deserves many more years on the road…but it needed someone as daft as me to take on the challenge I think! 👍
You could be a goal keeper. That was a proper good save from what it arrived like, to how it presents itself today. That’ll soon be gone to a new owner.
Loving this project and how its shaping up! Gotta however tell ya mate it looks like the door you fitted needs an ever so slight adjustment to line up with the front wing there. Cheers!
Amazing job, I absolutely love watching your videos! Also nice to see your furry assistant making an appearance! As a side note - I really like the added caption that tell us what you are currently doing.
Love your vids Johnny, inspiring and confidence building to have a go myself. I noticed you using an electric grinder for buffing the paintwork, may I ask where I can get those buffing attachments. Keep them coming, very entertaining
I hope so too, but even if not I think I will genuinely get some enjoyment from the knowledge that a good car was saved from becoming just another banger!
Hi Johnny Love the video you do a really nice job on these cars can I ask u a question please when buffing a panel should u always wet sand it first has I am unsure 😢 Phil in stoke
Hi Phil, it’s not always necessary to wet flat clear prior to polishing, I generally only do this when the clear is very dull like in this example. Generally I just make sure all contaminants are removed using a clay bar prior to polishing 👍
Good eye! I wondered if anyone would pick up on her there! That’s a car with a great story, however I am yet to feature her on the channel but I absolutely will do at some point in the future!
@JohnnyGetsCash I cannot wait. So rare. There was one local to me that had been painted over in metallic grey. Sacrilege! Was funny though seeing these bright yellow stonechips!
Great job mate! I have a question if you can help .I have x-type type with LHK color i tried to fix a scratch on the bumper but there is a difference on the color ,the bumper color is lighter than body ,is there any trick to match colors ?
Thank you. I generally advertise cars like this on eBay and marketplace but if you want to be first to know about a vehicle coming up for sale follow me on Instagram as I tend to post there first 👍
Johnny, what’s the setup around 4:40 where you are painting the bumper repair? I have clear pealing on my old car and need to do something similar on mirrors. Looks like you didn’t need to spray primer for small area. I’ve used just a rattle can before but your small spray gun would have better control I suspect.
I used my airbrush for the rear bumper smart repair here. I generally use that for small repairs that need to be faded out. I usually don’t use primer but here I actually did use a small amount of aerosol primer after filler and prior to paint / clear. Pure ply because I wanted to ensure an invisible repair.
nice video as always, it's me or it seems that the front right door doesn't seems to be aligned properly ? and the door trim looks a bit off when you do your final walk around ?
You are correct, the door alignment is rectified in next weeks episode and the door card is a bit squiffy here as I’m still waiting on some jag specific door card clips to replace the broken / missing ones!
Question for you, how much does the colour of the primer affect the outcome of the colour of the paint when applied on top. Is there a way to know which colour primer should be used, i.e white vs grey vs whatever else?
Intend to always favour a light base however certain codes call for specific primers. Your local paint supplier should be able to clarify depending on paint code, but in my experience the vast majority of colours take well to a grey or a white primer 👍
Lose the music and explain what you are doing and why. What equipment are you using, where can it be sourced and how much does it cost. Please accept this criticism as ‘constructive’. You obviously know what you are doing, but ‘we’ might not, good luck going forward.
I need to say this... You wear a mask while painting for a reason. And those paint particles are harmful to your dog too, they don't have a mask to protect them.
You will only ever see him when I’m wet flatting. He’s not allowed indoors when I’m spraying or dry sanding. I wouldn’t risk his health for anything, so until they invent paint respirators for German Shepherds, that’s the way it will stay! 🐶
@Rimkus7 You need to bear in mind that the dogs are smarter than humans and have an ultra-refined sense of smell, and consequently they wont stick around if they smell anything harmful. Also, due to environmental regs (in Europe and UK at least), most of the paints are water-based; still harmful, but not that harmful.
That bloody thing should be named "Lazarus". Back to life. Great work boss. 👍👏👏👏
The car looks fantastic.
X type is looking well now that you’ve done the paintwork - cracking car 👌
Thank you - she’s coming back better than many thought possible!
Turning out beautifully. The front of these x types are lovely looking even now. The colour really suits it!
Thank you. I think Chilli Red can be absolutely gorgeous if kept in great condition (which I’ll admit isn’t always easy!)
What a transformation. Need to do this on my parents' Saab bumper but could do with a small spray gun like the one you use for smart repairs.
Impressed again Johnny. The bumpers have come up a treat & the car is looking a lot better, even if it still needs the finishing detail. Looking forward to the rest of the journey with this Jag & how you tackle the alloys. Cheers & all the best 👍🏻

I like watching you polishing the cars. 👍👍👍👍👍
Looking great already before your final treatments of polish and wax. Always good to see you bring a car back to as new condition. Well done Johnny.
very very good job.
Front right door should be upper maybe 3mm. You should check the alignment. 20:08
You have the time lapse down to a fine art!
Just the first few seconds of that intro has me "AWWWW!!!"
Fantastic Johnny. All very practical and inspirational. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
Lovely job matey !
Dog seems very happy with the red highlights in his hair !! 😉
Great job she’s looking as good a new well done 👍🏼
Loved seeing your dog try for some fun with you. As always another amazing episode.
Good effort right there Johnny. That poor Jag must’ve been driven by some old git in his late 80s, oblivious or just utter unaware of his/hers/they/them/whatever surroundings 😢.
A sad truth for many cars I’m afraid! Let’s hope there are enough people as daft as me out there willing to give them a new lease on life!
I do the same as you buying cheaper cars and renovating them and selling them on so I do really enjoy your channel. If I may just make one observation the drivers door you fitted needs some further alinement but all in all a cracking job
Thank you, and you are absolutely right on the door. This is addressed in next weekend’s episode, but good eye for spotting it here 👍
Looks stunning! paints come up really well, hasn’t looked this good since it was 1 year old, well done!
I knew there was a decent example in there somewhere! It was just going to take a fair bit of graft to pull it out!
Looking like a really smart car Johnny , someone will be pleased to have that once it's done
Great work Johnny, love the smart repairs. I'm nervous to sand my own car before polishing!

Beautiful work nice to see jake at the end with his toy which is the same colour as the jaaaaaag wanting to go for a.ride out. Dogs love an estate car

Put some ceramic coating on the black parts to make them pop!
Again a very nice job and a smart car as result

Thanks, and yes you’re absolutely right on the door, that is addressed in next week’s episode…a minor oversight on my part here!
I’d like to see (and learn more) how you do the repairs rather than just watch, but I do enjoy watching 👍🏻
Thanks for watching. I’ll take your comments on board 👍

The cars looking great but your dog moonwalking at about the 3:50 mark made me chuckle.
He’s a boy of many talents!
Top job as always I want your workshop and dog😁
I certainly am very grateful, especially for Jake! The best work mate anyone could ask for!
lovely car mate
Wow mate great content makes me want to polish my bumper scuff (car park) lol but I'm worried about making it worse 😅
Cool dog 🐕 ❤

Thank you! I use a couple of different rotary polishers (as opposed to DA polishers), I believe there is a link to them in the video description 👍
Looking much better 👌 👍

Thanks. In this case I was using 3M fast cut, but I will give it a final waxing yet with a super high gloss product to really maximise the depth 👍
Looking like a new Jaaaaag hahaha Great job as always.
We all love a Jaaag right?! Now where did I put my wallet?
I spy a Mondeo Si in citrene yellow. What a beautiful machine. Any video on that?

Unfortunately the only way to blend mismatched colours is by means of a fade out over a larger area, which is obviously more hassle!
Is it just me but does the new front wing not line up with the door? Great work all the same, I wish I had that skill and patience!
You are correct, a small oversight on my part but it is now sorted and addressed in the next video!
I had no doubt you would be on the case! 👍

Any chance of getting the mondeo in the background on the channel mate I haven't seen one off the for years
