There is a difference between tanks that are not fun to play against and OP tanks, literally the only thing the EBR has is speed and maneuverability, the gun has 190 pen and 1950 dpm, less view range than some tier 7 light tanks, yeah real OP lmao.
@@hodgepodge1275 So say the stats in actual game play it's a lot different when you cant hit the EBR and it hits and pens you with every shot. And when it comes to view range that does not matter when the EBR is set up to drive in circles close up to enemy so it can't be hit.
@@Wild1BillS yes I wouldn't call that OP, i would put it in the category of "its not fun to play against", it only has 1300 HP doesn't take a lot in total to kill it, and yes there is quite a bit of RNG but if you miss a shot its mostly your fault. And on maps there are tons of what we refer to as "break checks" unnoticeable hills that fling your car to the left or right losing all your speed, and trust me it happens every 2 or 3 games you get a break check, which gets you killed all the time. And most of the time you can angle your armor toward an EBR unless he's circling you and he will probably bounce even with gold. I shoot a lot of standard in the EBR and i bounce half of my shots even on light tanks like the t100 LT

Yes - I've noticed that there's a tendency for some players to move - only to move back to the very same bush so they can be hit again to remind them to move!

Yep, I'm one of those German Line / British Line Grinders, and so many of my favourite Tanks are now gathering dust because they aren't competitive any longer, and no fun to play :-(

We've told Wargaming that they've nerfed Arty to hell, but they won't do anything.
They nerfed it in 9.18 and took away our damage giving us stun in return
Now they nerfed it in 1.5 and took away our stun, making it impossible to earn credits.
Exactly as you said Claus - it's got to the point that people do not want to play Arty any more, but WG forces them to do it anyway to complete the missions.
You might even say that they've intentionally made the Arty missions more difficult to force people to play for much longer periods in a vehicle that they hate, if they want the rewards. It's all part of some evil plan to make people hate the game and use up all their directives to skip the parts of the missions they cannot complete any more.

@@flemmingploug2670 Yeah I think its more of a problem with the maps, at tier 10 maps are too small. TRUVoodoo was talking about this and thinks high tier view range needs to be nerfed a lot. 445 view range covers 70% of the map even on the largest maps which is stupid. the largest maps right now are only like 1200 m while in reality they should be as large as the 30 v 30 maps.
I'm glad to see that the Tier 10 SPG's appear effective. I've noticed while playing the M44 that my direct damage score has once again taken about a 20% hit and my Stun Assist Damage has seen a 40% reduction. This has resulted in a 25% reduction in overall XP and credits earned.

I believe that the only player base that matters to WG is the Russian player base.

i 50/50 agree with claus. I think tier 10s should never be changed with other tier 10s, like the wt auf e100 for the grille 15, but I do think tanks should be nerfed/buffed. Claus basically is saying that WarGaming shouldn't have nerfed the 268 v4 which is retarded. and he complains about if arty misses they only do 100 dmg, but like every other tank if they miss they do NO damage. atleast you get rewarded for fucking missing like what the hell.
You missed a couple of trees while driving arty....
Yup - he hit far too many trees - even after he pointed out that the Strv gave away his position by knocking down a tree. The fastest counter battery kill I have is 30 seconds - and all because the enemy Arty knocked down trees to make a 'nest' to fire from.

@@WOTArtyNoobs I have one about that same time. OpFor arty knocked over a tree heading to a known arty hiding spot. I "blind" fired and killed him - and got called a cheater for doing it.
It's incredibly frustrating when someone calls you a cheat for doing something that took you years of practice to learn. I was recently called a cheat by someone driving an EBR 105 at full speed when I 'nuked' him with my M55. I put the video on TH-cam to show that it was not a fluke.

Arty is more like ZEN, you can get back to life, enjoy a cup of coffee while playing. Since most of the match you're busy reloading and aiming and usually miss (eg. "That was close!"),but it's not really what people like to watch.
Most Unicums play medium tanks. Lights and Heavies once in a while, rarely TD's, never Arty.
Mediums can do almost anything and that's how you can participate in the match the most.
Arty is just the opposite.
In most PvP-Games there's a constant fine-tuning involved of all units. That means WG's aim should be to make every tank usefull for the game instead of throwing out premium tanks.
Game-Balance is the main weakness of WoT.
I fear though that this state is actually inforced by WG to optimise their money gain.

I have grinded out almost every tank line. Been playing since BETA. Have 38 tier 10 and many more unlocked. Got 100k games. Got all 5 tier ten arty. They take a shitload more xp to grind; also the get shafted in game XP. Got a one mission left for my 260; never going to happen now. Not just because they do shit dmg, and accuracy is shit and the shit is just shit. SHIT SHIT SHIT. #WOTSHIT.
For that IS-7 that was hiding behind a dead tank in the first battle...remember, you are arty. You don't always have to aim directly at the tank. Aim at the ground right next to him to dig him out of that position.
Many tank drivers claim that Arty requires no skill. That all you do is sit there and click. They don't understand that there's a lot more to it than that.
1. You need to acquire the skill to understand what the enemy target is doing and predict where he will be when the shell arrives. Many targets are at the other end of the map and the shell may take 3 to 4 seconds to reach them. In 3 to 4 seconds, a fast target can cover most of a grid square. So you must get into the mind of the target player and try to work out what he is doing and where he is going, so that you can aim ahead of him and make him drive into the shell.
2. You need to understand the characteristics of the Arty. Like most tanks, Artys have their own traits. Some have high trajectories and some (like the French) very low. That means that you not only have to avoid buildings, but also place your Arty where you can make the best shot. For instance, to shoot further, you want to be on an up-slope. They actually did that in WW2 for the Bishops as they had a limited elevation, so they would construct a ramp or mound to drive the Arty onto, so the gun would be pointing higher into the sky. You don't want to be shooting on a down-slope - because it limits the elevation and decreases your range. You don't want to get too close to the target in a French Arty, as the flat trajectory means that you might not be able to loop the shell over a ridge line. Sometimes, being further away in a French Arty can be better, as the shell can then dip over the ridge line.
3. You have to think defensively. Most Arty have limited view range, so you have to seek maximum cover, not not to pick the most obvious firing positions that make counter battery easier for the enemy.
4. You have to learn to shotgun the enemy scouts/lights/wheelies. This is more difficult than it sounds. Easy enough to point and shoot in a tank, but the Arty gun is a lot more difficult to aim with massive dispersion. So it's much easier to let the enemy get really close and then hope that the splash is enough to take them out. Takes nerves of steel to let the enemy get really close before shooting from cover.
5. In many games, the Arty are the last players alive. The tanks were all wiped out by Arty fire and you then have to take on the enemy Arty face to face. That can be more difficult than you think, as most Arty players are reluctant to move, even though the P stands for Propelled. They will wait in ambush near their cap and take out the enemy Arty when they try to cap.
As for tank drivers saying that Arty takes no skill - just take a look at the sheer number of Pool's medals, Radleys and Kolobanovs earned by Arty players. We are not talking about someone being gifted a Kolobanov for being the last one alive on the defending team of Assault. We are talking about Arty players who kill all the remaining TANKS on the enemy team face to face. They beat the enemy tanks by skill.
I guess most tank drivers hate on Arty, because of what we call Revenge Frustration. If you get hit by an enemy tank, you can see them and fire back (unless they were a TD or someone using the bush mechanic), but with Arty, they cannot see the enemy and cannot exact revenge and that builds resentment. It's a psychological problem that children cannot handle, but adults rise above. If I get hit by Arty, I try to work out how the Arty did it and where he is and then try to avoid being hit again. If I fail and get hit again - then that was my fault, not his.
The trick to avoid being hit by Arty is not to be where they expect you to be and not to be seen. If you cannot be seen, you cannot be targeted.
when as there are so often 3 arties in a game then arty shells can be coming from any angle, and its literally no fun to play at all. If there were no more then 1 arty in a game then shells can only come from one direction and its a bit easier to hide from them. 1 arty max would make the game massively better to play, there wont be as much camping meanwhile WG says arty compels people to NOT camp, its such BS, its like WG doesnt play their own game! And arty doesnt take skill, this is coming from a guy that has played well over 1000 games of arty, 600 something alone in the berty. arty is EASILY the least skilled class in the game, like EASILY, and if you think otherwise then you are a fool

Not played WoT for ages - got fed up of grinding to get to the 'next big thing' tank only to find it gets nerfed soon after I get it. So Wg... "No Cash For You!"

I been playing sense the game came out and only have 1 tier X, 2 tier IX. over 22k battles. I play many tanks.
If they want to get rid of Arty, give a free tank of the players choose in the tier their arty is in.

WG said they fixed the MM. Not a lot of 3/5/7 anymore. Except, I get the feeling it is much worse now on another level. Seeing many matches now where more than half the team on one side have a WR less than 45%, while half the other team have a WR of more than 48%. The result is inevitable. Many more 15/0 blowouts. It sucks to be in a slow heavy when you drive as fast as you can and you still can't get one shot in because fast mediums with high WR clears the whole field before you can get there. So Claus, when WG says they will fix one or another tank or tank class, I start to worry. Maybe fixing in Russian means something else.
while they tested the "new" mm on eu-live server (was it march or april dont know anymore) it was perfect. 6 strait hours i saw no t10 game in my t8, the teams were balanced, no 15:0 all were around 12:15 even the lost games felt right and rewarding, it was so much fun.
when the mm patch came it wasnt as good as the test but still better than before.
but the last 2-3 weeks its nearly all 15:0 again and i see t10 much more again...
back to no fun

I couldn't agree more on the thing you said, that this is a grinding game and you can't just get another tank cause you have to grind your ass off to get it, while in games like league you can buy a champion in game by just playing the game for a day or two.
Totally agree with the ELC Biz nerf. It was one of the lost fun tanks. And the one nerf that made my son stop playing wot at all.
What really pisses me off is the new Clown Cars and their OP HE rounds. Yet, they took away the VK 28 01's teir IV, 105 derp gun. Another tank that had a cult following.

You are absolutely right. By the time most people get to a tank, they find out it was not worth it. I follow a simple rule, I just play a line and and move on once I have an Ace tanker. Sometimes it goes quick, sometimes it takes longer or even almost forever.
Now I enjoy watching replays more than playing the game itself... 😊

Claus you hit the nail on the head here. Who these days would play Arty; for half the maps it it redundant, takes forever to load, accuracy is abysmal, damage is abysmal (even if has no armour) and wheeled vermin ensure it can be killed easily on an open map where it can play. The only conclusion is Wargaming are making Arty so unpalatable that it will die from the game. Long live Mario Brothers.

My favorite is when playing arty and you get a direct hit on a tank for zero damage. The same caliber gun on a heavy tank firing HE would get damage every time. So, since I want to research every vehicle in the game some day, I play arty expect to lose or not do well and am rarely disappointed by doing well! However, I no longer pay money for premium vehicles or time etc. If they want money from me again, they will need to stop their bias and seemingly arbitrary nerfs/buffs etc. I really appreciate seeing that it is not just me that gets frustrated with their stupidity.

hate that they constantly pissing about with the maps also balanced maps. also kill the game. war is not balanced someone has the advantage and disadvantage and nature is not balanced. so wish they would stop mirror mapping. i used to love to start the game on the bad side of the map. we used to moan about achh wrong side of the map etc. but was more fun when we won the game when starting on the bad side of the maps. :)

The only thing worse than the artillery nerf is the fact that when you shoot arty at a Russian tank, it always does minimum damage or no damage.

Im not a Unicum...I still hate these shitlords called Arty....just frustrating. I know its not OP...its just incredibly frustrating and actual fun playstyles are being punished.
Its not like they are incredibly broken or OP or any of that. They just punish and make things frustrating. Camping and Sniping isnt exactly fun...If I want to play a game like WoT I Want to play, not sit on my arse click 5-20 times per game and do nothing else.
The same with CVs in WoWs nowadays. Except for T10 CVs (they are broken) they are incredibly frustating to play *with* and against. Since the rework stealth has become useless, DDs are barely playable now and the gameplay with them is just frustration to the maximum.

every single game there is no arty in t6+, my blood pressure is on avg lower, i can relax without doing retarded backtrace loops and maneuvers to avoid a 30s stun and track, and i have infinitely more fun: more hitpoints to shoot at, more angles and positions to play!

when you are reloading, you can scan enemy territory to see if you can spot enemy spg tracers
Arty sucks to play, sucks to play against. It's making nobody happy regardless if you like playing arty. I would rather it go back to no stun, big damage, slow reload and long ass aim time. Maybe make some of the soft stats like turret traverse bloom worse to encourage arty to really aim.
i disagree because when im trying to 3 mark tanks i prefer not to be SPLASHED for 900 dmg. let alone get hit and penned for 1800. I really don't mind the stun like other players do because I can use a medkit.

If you want to double the range of your British artillery, just tape a Bayonet to the barrel..... ;)
Also keep in mind with the Arty Nerf. Before nerf if everything went great you broke even on shell cost/damage. Now your just throwing credits away because does nothing for damage.

Yes man. There is a Russian guy, arti25, he is a unicum that plays most of the time arty :O and btw he 3-marked all his spg!
After being burned with my 110 E 5 and now my Type 4, I am reducing my grinds. I have given up on the Type grind, I will finish my IT medium grind. And I stopped at Caernarvon, as I expect the Challengers to be nerfed or power creeped (looking at u, Mr Swedish Mediums) . Instead I will play more Tier V and VI, because...they are FUN! And the occasional Frontline ga,me when they run them.
Those Swedes are going to the Vet to have their balls nipped, it's just a matter of time.

Well hey Claus, love your content, I'm not a unicum, I don't have a great deal of tanks researched, but I have played since about 2015-2016. I do have a good WN8 if that matters at all, because I just want to say I do not care if arty is bad now, I absolutely get your argument but I don't think they're a positive force on the field, they help foster the toxicity of the game and well, yeah they do stop me from 3 marking sometimes because I do everything right and there's still 3 arty hammering me because it's an open map or I dared to make a move that wasn't hiding behind a wall. I am however upset that they nerfed the wrong arty, tier 5 and 6 arty is so broken, M44 is the best example, highly accurate, good reload, good damage, fast speeds, good traverse limits, what can it not do? Anyway thanks as always for your vids, you're an awesome dude, keep tanking on!

pressing "g" for the long aim mode works really well if you adjust your play style. Aim low in front of the tank or zoom in and plant it right on the centre of mass! More useful on a moving tank than overhead aim. I only use overhead for tanks behind cover.
Hey Claus, Try the WoT Arty Noobs YT Channel, there's loads of arty content there.
The other major problem with arty is that the Skills & Perks are virtually useless for arty. One that was useful was Intuition for the loader but after the removal of AP (which was not a bad idea) that Perk became pointless (and there was no re-credit for those that ground to get).

The main reason people don't like arty is because you can't fight back against it till the end of the game. I do agree with you on the unicums that complain that they can have a hard time penning certain armored tanks. Heavy tanks are the only class in the game that has a mechanic to negate their only advantage. On team damage I don't think that would make people happy either since then people can always just troll you by ramming and pushing without consequence.
try nerfing ALL the Russian OP tanks
There's a lesson to be learned: If you want to invest a lot of time to get a tier 10 tank, make sure it's Russian.
idk why anyone would grind for arty in the past 2 years, its obviously been very controversial and most things controversial get changed. look at the wt auf e100, maus, type 5, 268 v4. and now premium rounds
No one does arty content because it's like being a criminal. You don't show their faces or say their names on the news, only the victims have names. Same for Arty. It doesn't balance the game. It exacerbates the camping problem it was supposed to fix. Is it in the game? yes. Is murder in the world? yes. Does that mean you should go out and murder people? no. Should you play Arty? no. People do it because people are, for the most part, shitty. Life is dirty, cruel, brutal, and short. I recommend you get a helmet. Arty players exist, doesn't mean I wouldn't jack one up in a bar..... No one gives a shit about the five guys who ground three Arty lines to tier X. Players know Arty ruins game play, yet they play it anyway. That is what makes them shit human beings. Not because it's in the game, but because they can't resist a taboo. Just like murderers and pedophiles. Funny thing is Arty can be balanced for game play easily. WG plays with all the stats, blast radius, stun duration, and such. But the one thing that would fix it they don't touch. What is that thing you ask? Shell arc. Flatten Arty's shell arc and make cover work again. It wouldn't have to be a lot.

The extended view ranges that exist now made not only arty more effective, but created a sniping wonder world. They only concentrated on nerfing arty, but if they had nerfed view ranges, the effect would have been impacted everyone.

The new M10 marathon is perfect. Easy missions that you can do in 1-5 battles, and you can also do previous missions even on the last day. This is much better than something like TS-5 or Progetto 46 marathon.
The changes to tier 10s are the single biggest frustration i have with the game. Invest so much time just to have the rug pulled out from under you

Arty is a support class. Not a fragging class. Arty needed that nerf... Tier 6 and lower arties weren't touch. Which is where 90% the Arty rage comes from. M44 can one shot most tanks at same tier or lower...
I remember when the Pz. IV Schmalturm could nearly hold its own.
Claus, a useful tip for you! Instead of scrolling around the map as you do here, you can move your aim reticle onto the target by right-clicking it on the minimap when holding down CTRL. Using the G-view also improves aiming. And when you are trying to whittle down a tank hiding behind a wreck it is better to shoot at the sides by aiming next to the target. You will make more damage.
Little trick that you might find useful in aiming :-
Hold down the CTRL key - move the cursor over the mini-map to the area that you want to see and RHMB Right Hand Mouse Button click on the spot.
The view will go there right away without having to scroll out the aim point using the mouse. Far quicker.
You might want to scroll for short adjustments, but when aiming at the other end of the map - use CTRL then RHMB on the map.
What would make me happy? New maps (and to see “Paris”, “Ensk” and “Tundra” gone forever). Less russki objects apparently made of impenetrable alien alloys. Less crazy pingers. All the wheeled vehicles loaded onto a spaceship to be sent to Jupiter. And make the grinding faster because the idea of playing a gazillion games to get a tank that is gonna be nerfed and thus turned into an unplayable piece of crap is horrible. I’m ok with some grinding but too much is frustrating and really boring (especially because the possibility that you end up grinding a soon-to-be-nerfed tank).
I have all of the SPG missions done, except for SPG-15 for the Obj HT. It is a real pain in the ass.
My daughter asked me, "Dad should I sell my Matilda to get the Churchill?" I told her don't do it. But she wanted a higher tier and told me it's okay, she still has the T18 and T57spg that she really enjoyed playing so she won't mind if the Churchill sucks. ...yeah she quit the game. Really they should make it so you have to reach tier 10 in a Russian tank before you're allowed to play any other nation so players won't feel so ripped off, even if all they've invested is their time into the game.
Is it just me or has the MM shifted back to CRAP after a a few weeks of OK match ups? Maybe most the Tier 10s are playing Ranked Battles, and the few that aren't, are getting to clean up against the rest of us playing our Tier 8s because they're aren't enough of their own kind to do same tier battles?
