Pianist CONSTANTINE FINEHOUSE holds degrees from Juilliard and Yale and teaches at New England Conservatory. He has performed extensively across North America and abroad. As a chamber musician, he has partnered often, live and in session, with violinist Daniel Kurganov and cellist Sebastian Baverstam. "Backwards Glance," his solo album for Spice Rack Records, interweaves music of Johannes Brahms and Richard Beaudoin. “The Bolcom Project”, produced in collaboration with violinist Philip Ficsor, included an Albany Records CD and a national tour. Fanfare praised this album as “indispensable to any serious collector with an interest in later 20th-century duo repertoire for violin and piano.” He subsequently recorded William Bolcom's solo piano works for Naxos. The Rhein-Main Allgemeine Zeitung singled out his "interpretations of depth and maturity”. A familiar presence on stage and in sessions at the Frederick Collection, he brings a rare degree of understanding to performance on instruments of the composers' own eras. He has recently recorded a Brahms album on the Fredericks' evocative 1871 Streicher concert grand.

The mission of the The Frederick Collection of Historical Grand Pianos, ca. 1790-1928, is to acquaint musicians and the concert-going public with the sounds of pianos of the types, and often the makes, familiar to and played by the major composers. Begun in October 1985 by co-curators Michael and Patricia Frederick, Ashburnham, MA, these fall and spring Historical Piano Concerts feature standard piano, chamber, and vocal repertoire from the late 18th through the early 20th centuries. The series presents distinguished American and overseas musicians, many of whose names are familiar to our live and virtual audiences.
