India’s first Museum of Christian Art in the tiny state of Goa is a treasure trove of rare Christian artifacts from the 16th century to the mid-20th century.
The Museum is a project of the Archdiocese of Goa and it showcases a unique collection of Christian art objects that were designed for religious ceremonies and daily use.
These art objects were crafted by highly skilled local Goan artists whose creations reflect a harmonious blend of two art forms, recognized as Indo-Portuguese art.
The Museum was conceived and started at the suggestion of well-known Goan cartoonist and artist of international repute, the late Mario Miranda.
It was inaugurated by the then Governor of Goa Shri Mohammed Fazal on January 23, 2002 in the presence of guests, including late Goa Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar. The Museum was blessed by Archbishop Emeritus of Goa & Daman Raul Nicolau Gonsalves. - กีฬา
Still feel Goa is unexplored, thanks Savio and team for lovely informative Video 🙏
Very informative program. excellent presentation, great ,👌👌👌💐
Until a few months ago, i used to wonder why so much effort and capital was invested in building massive churches (surely a humble room where the Spirit of Truth could be invoked would suffice) until i heard a homily delivered this Easter by Fr. Ivel, (OLPS church Chembur). He said churches of old were built with faith, not opinions, and it struck me. They were homages to miraculous healings, new leases of life, deliverance, gifts of children, of redemption, of fearlessness, of victory against gargantuan odds. Old Goa is indeed sanctified but Goem is sacred, every inch a work of art.
Excellent video of an iconic location.. The museum of Christian arts is a landmark of Goa and this video covers it well. Kudos to the entire team... Beautiful documentary
Excellent one. Very informatuve.
