  • www.truthforlife.org || By: Alistair Begg - (Mark 4:1-20) When God’s Word is proclaimed, people’s responses can be quite diverse. As illustrated in the Parable of the Soils, some respond with intellectual curiosity, but find no need for a Savior in their own lives. Others receive the Word with great emotion and delight, but soon the pressures of life extinguish the zeal they had in the beginning. Alistair Begg shows us that when we humbly trust in the Word of Truth, God’s enabling grace will produce a true and lasting faith.

This man does not realize that the seed on the rocky ground and choked are believers.

A little unsolicited advice - if you find that YOUR translation of verse differs from Pastor Begg - you should ask a third party to hear your interpretation. Not saying the pastor is faultless with his interpretation and I am not even sure he said what you think he said. Remember Scripture has one and only interpretation but endless applications

@@michaelmagee4318 many third parties agree with my interpretation. Pastor Begg is teaching that only the seed that fell on the good soil are the truly saved people, that is hogwash. Jesus interprets this for the disciples and He is clear that all three souls the seeds had germinated, were born. Any pastor that makes the sheep doubt their position in Christ is harming the body. If God has worked your ground to where you are bearing fruit a hundred fold, praise God. What about all the brothers and sisters who do not abide in Christ and have lost their way? They need to be reminded that IF they abide in Christ and His Word abides in the then they will know the Truth... Weak believers and baby Christians don not need to be discouraged because no one reminds them how the Holy Spirit works in believers, through the Word. Besides, it is evil to judge anyone who claims that Jesus died for them, you can excommunicate them for certain sins, but to pronounce them "not truly saved" is evil. Supposed teachers should be called out for false doctrine, I assume Begg is a believer, he is just off on a few doctrinal issues.
      Have a blessed day
