Yes, I have been honing in on my brand and music genre. Def got the elevator pitch down. I'm an alternative hip hop artist producer that focuses on the subject matter of balance, manifestation, and the human experience. Thank you for being real on here Vroseph. Keep going.
Do you have any material on localization? e.g. if one were to produce art for a market that is geographically far away from them (for instance, they've found a culture they relate to as a brand/artist but its distance makes it hard to access), I've heard its a good tip to understand the language of the place first to at least a beginner's extent so your campaign has a better chance of being relevant with your understanding of the culture of the place
branding really is an important part of this, and i love how you said we aren't going to be everything because it's true we are not and we're not supposed to be! I've done a lot by myself however I do need to someone to help me further and hold me accountable so I'm getting a consultation with someone who specialises in branding/marketing in music :)
This is very true, but I tend to think the emotional connection to the music is definitely the largest part of why someone chooses to stick around.. it's why I stick around to the artists I do
You tell it the way it should be. truth is branding is what is going to sell which meant the ability to differentiate. these sounds that are being pumped out by bedroom producers & musicians are all the same predictability & you can tell anybody you want, it is the creative to discern what it is exactly they want or think they do in terms of building a career in the record business.
Terrific words about a crucial part of building anything today! Branding builds love through familiarity and should be talked about more in the music community. It can actually simplify content creation and projects more by narrowing the mass amounts of choices one has to create by funneling your focus toward particular areas of sound, looks, and overall vibes.
Tip on finding your herd. Look at the IG page of a bigger artist that is close to your sound of music, then read the comments of the latest 3 posts. The fans who's comments that are the most genuine, research those followers. Find out what other pages they are following and that will give you a general idea of what their interests are. Then target those interests when running ads. Be sure that your content is high quality and that it grabs their attention right away. - Trippy

Great video! You really made me think about the fact that you need to find yourself before others (the herd) can find you. Thanks for your videos and knowledge!
This advice is definitely for me 😂! I can’t stick to just one genre, or a certain style or I’ll lose my mind. I’ll definitely do it though and test it out.
I'm slowly building a fan base of people that absorb my content because they like my personality. The struggle I'm having is branding... like what makes me stand out and will help me share my music. Awesome video Adam.
Focusing on one main thing is for sure an issue. Luckily, I work with multiple labels for some of these different things, and my collaborations seem to automatically label me "Producer". Honestly, I'm succeeding on multiple levels that most artists don't think about, but since I myself am not officially signed to anyone as a branded artist (although kinda biased to one) I still have half of my image self-distributed, so watching your videos, as well as others, helps keep me aware and grounded so I don't have far to fall if I ever happen to. Thank you for your content!
awesome video bro! really helpful. im just starting out and i guess im still tryn to find myself in my music if that makes sense. started off on fire now im just stuck lol. its easy to relate to people when your speaking from the heart.. but standing out, thats the challenge for me!
It is not often that I start laughing during a TH-cam video, but you got me totally unarmed there. I'm not doing music, but what you're saying makes sense for more than that.
Hey man I’ve literally gone through everything you just described now I have a full time remote job and am working to “get it right” this time this was very helpful!
I deff used that whole genre as my influence … that being said .. juice had a clear grasp on his genre.. I wanted to take it and change it again… So many people love my music just because it’s something they haven’t heard
Yeah man, back before I had my team I edited all my videos. I figured if I could make mostly one takes it'd save me so much editing time. I just trained myself to be able to do it 😂
Ads on IG and fb do work, if you spend time figuring out who you're targeting, because you'll get their attention of course. Ads are a way of life for any serious business. I'm really surprised you're not in support of fb IG ads, Adam. New business run ads and get new clients everyday, people who formerly never heard of them before.
I believe in ads, but day after day I see artists dumping money into ads without knowing how to talk to an audience and with no idea how to keep traffic once it lands on whatever the ad sends them to. New business running ads isn’t apples to apples to sending strangers to art and expecting them to care. I plan to start talking about ads more, but in a way that differentiates who should be running them, how, and follow up steps. Too many people run ads and pad numbers with no actual audience growth.
1st Question: For me I do artwork and great looking stories and I have an entirely different way of releasing music. I also have a tight schedule with everything tracked down to the minute. A lot of artists just post whenever they feel like it which hurts their profile and is comparable to throwing up due to how random it is. All this helps me stand out and has given me success. 2nd Question: To people I provide value and speak to them like a friend. I also give social media tips and music tips. In my bio it says what I do to be extra clear. 3rd Question: I'm synthwave like you can probably tell from my name :). I'm also looking into my insights all the time to see what people are interested in. This allows me to create potent content. 4th Question: I have done ads before but I am yet to do a campaign where its just 15 seconds of one of my tracks. I hear this makes it easier to retarget too. I saw an ad from you recently which made me check out your content again. I really only discovered you though Andrew Southworth to begin with and I'm glad he mentioned you. So word of mouth is still a really good way to promote as well. This video was really helpful as it lets me further refine everything to make my content even more potent, keep up the great work.
I really appreciate this video because it made me feel better about the track I'm on even though I dont have a big following. It's quite tiny I'm just starting out. But I try to be branded as a well dressed funny folk musician. My songs are serious but when im introducing songs i try to be funny. I try to be larger than life on stage and always show up for the people at shows...no matter if it's one or one thousand. But even when I try to do reels on instagram I make sure to be well dressed to kind of drive the brand home
loved this video so much! i've been struggling a lot lately with branding and really diving in deep to what my purpose and story are to convey to others. thank you for these videos!
You are very right. Unfortunatelly sometimes "who You are" aork against marketing "laws". for example i lile to make many styles of music whitch according to every marketing specialist is bad couse i should focus on one and target my audience. But i am who i am and i like listenning and making different styles. i like changes in emotions , forms, tools and sounds. Any advice in that sitaution (im talking to all of You music creators) :)
I totally get you. Make it a part of your niche or your niche maybe. Like every time you release music it’s a surprise. I think that’s really cool. You maybe could mention some of the genres you don’t usually tap into and some of your more popular ones. This way people can sort of have a clue maybe. In regards to promoting and marketing this is where it gets a bit challenging. Keep in mind I’m not an expert just a pop artist. What I would say is it’s great because you reach a bigger variety of people. As you were tapping into many genres and you can use more hashtags and things of that sort as well. It may be hard in a sense of when you’re paying for advertisements people may say. But I disagree with them. This is because people always say when you’re paying for advertisements try to put as many things applicable so you can reach a large number of people. When you have many genres even more hashtags and tags and things that’s what will become applicable. I hope this can help answer your question even though I’m a little late on seeing it. If you have any other questions in this regard please let me know and I wish you all the best luck in your music in 2023. Also if you wanna check out my music channel I’d appreciate it too. One more thing I wanna clarify. There is kind of a little disagreement I’ve seen in a sense of advertisement and how you should go about it like I mentioned above. I agree with the second one about you these many hashtags but a lot of people disagree with that so take it with a grain of salt I guess I don’t know

Adam, I produce, song write, record, mix and master. I have considered your sellmusic course but am also self aware that the capacity to develop another skill would be detrimental and stretching myself even more thin. How should I approach hiring a media team for campaigning? Or if you provide a service similar.
Hiring a media team won't do much for you if you don't understand how to do it yourself unfortunately. You won't know what to look for, won't understand what tasks need to be done, your voice won't be developed, and with any growth metrics you'll then be enslaved to continue to pay an agency in fear that you couldn't retain momentum yourself. That's why I developed the SMM to begin with because so many people have spent money on promotions and media teams for no return.
Great advice and thanks for the message. I purchased a beat from you years ago and I wanted to know if you affiliated with a music rights organization.
dude this is business and business is not nice at all sometimes you need to be an ass to make it in business. The music business is one where you have to be an ass when dealling with the business part of it and let your self relax and be a people person. when I am in the studio creating new music I am the worst ass but that is where I need to be an ass. because if you are not an ass at times in the business side you just end up being lead around and will vanish fast.
If you could get ahold of me somehow I would greatly appreciate it i am currently in the part of branding when I have been developing my talent for years I have gained number 1 and number 2 somewhat
The Russian "Z" symbol is an example of great branding to support the Russian Forces and the military effort in Ukraine. It is also not clear what the Z symbol means creating a mysteriousness around it. The Kremlin are excellent at branding Putin for example. Is it propaganda? Yes, but that is what music and branding is. Music and politics are inseparable as shown by the example Chairman Xua Jipa.

If you could get ahold of me somehow I would greatly appreciate it i am currently in the part of branding when I have been developing my talent for years I have gained number 1 and number 2 somewhat
Hit the thumbs up, when the fbomb dropped lol
Hi 💝😊👋✌
The Russian "Z" symbol is an example of great branding to support the Russian Forces and the military effort in Ukraine. It is also not clear what the Z symbol means creating a mysteriousness around it. The Kremlin are excellent at branding Putin for example. Is it propaganda? Yes, but that is what music and branding is. Music and politics are inseparable as shown by the example Chairman Xua Jipa.
hahahahahaha even Adam knows about Juice Wrld clones
I get the point
I feel like dude does a line of coke before filming
Never touched the stuff but thanks for watching.
Music is fake
