I honestly think this album would rival the others more if the other songs were on it. I wanna give them a pass for the "shorter" album given how chock full of substance each song is. The production on every song (of the 10 on the album) is seriously impressive. But seriously. To make SIX MORE fully fleshed out tracks and leave them off the album to obscurity is nothing but a TRAVESTY. How could the Panic! team make these and toss them to the side? Sure, maybe the label had something to do with it - with orders to make bonus exclusives for deluxe versions of the record. But come on, P.O. had FIFTEEN tracks. Surely more could've been added to the initial release. What's also fascinating is that not ONE of the SIXTEEN V&V era tracks are "filler". They are all dynamic complete songs, even the Glory "demo". I feel stupid saying it because it's been said so many times, and it's naive because the label probably had their reasons - but imagine a world where V&V had SIXTEEN tracks from the get-go. AFYCSO and P.O. would be given a run for their money if that were the case. Honestly now that I think about it, Spencer Smith was pulling a ton of weights getting the drum parts down for all these songs, and there were other writers and collaborators aside from Brendon pouring time and effort into these as well. So much talent doomed to obscurity. You know how many times I've seen fans encounter the bonus tracks for the first time not knowing they existed?

I think we all know why their label asked them to remove these from the album. So that they could sell more physical copies in an era where no one does that. They were encouraging fans to buy multiple copies of the same album, but with one extra bonus track on each version. I know oh glory and stall me are on apple music, and the others were probably on cds sold at different stores.

Turn Off the Lights being the most played song in the video speaks VOLUMES in the sound it has. CRIMINAL that I found it on TH-cam before listening to the album
these songs are genuinely better than the whole original album. they just sound so much more concise, while the songs on v&v all feel like they were chopped and edited multiple times and frankensteined the final product together. hurricane would be my prime example, the song has parts that fit together really well but the chorus is too energetic to be a part of the melody and then we have the ‘they know I know’ and ‘you’ll dance to anything’ moments where the lyrics are so boring and mean nothing that it just loses me completely. hurricane is such a sexy song but only sometimes
Sucks to see how many people are just ok with spreading hate and misinformation. It’s fine youre a fan of ryan, dallon or jon, support them. But you dont have to hate another person just coz youre not a fan of them. Panic will be missed for sure. But the hate just dont make any sense.

Part of me feels like the six bonus tracks not being on the main album was a label decision to sell more albums. Back then physical album sales did matter.

Turn Off the Lights being the most played song in the video speaks VOLUMES in the sound it has. CRIMINAL that I found it on TH-cam before listening to the album
these songs are genuinely better than the whole original album. they just sound so much more concise, while the songs on v&v all feel like they were chopped and edited multiple times and frankensteined the final product together. hurricane would be my prime example, the song has parts that fit together really well but the chorus is too energetic to be a part of the melody and then we have the ‘they know I know’ and ‘you’ll dance to anything’ moments where the lyrics are so boring and mean nothing that it just loses me completely. hurricane is such a sexy song but only sometimes
Sucks to see how many people are just ok with spreading hate and misinformation. It’s fine youre a fan of ryan, dallon or jon, support them. But you dont have to hate another person just coz youre not a fan of them. Panic will be missed for sure. But the hate just dont make any sense.

I almost dont listen to any post split panic stuff (especially not the stuff that are more Brendon focused) but I find these songs to be fun amalgamations of the Fever and the P.O. era
Every day I curse Brendon Urie for not putting these on the album, or at least on streaming apps.
Part of me feels like the six bonus tracks not being on the main album was a label decision to sell more albums. Back then physical album sales did matter.
