@@jamesryan7684 Conservatives have nothing to do with immigration and that is the primary issue with housing demand and costs. Also as for middle class conservatives when in power had a $10,000 renovation tax credit. Had lowered hst from 15 to 13%. So when it comes to housing this is all on the Liberals as much as they like to blame everyone else.

Canada is not destroyed. How did the Liberal party "destroy" Canada. be specific. Provinces are responsible for building rentals, and they haven't had any noticeable rentals built in the last 10 years. Most of the provinces in trouble are Conservative run. So what is it that you are claiming to be so destructive that the Liberals (or NDP) actually caused?

With the price of materials right now, I could build a tree fort for the same cost as what I used to be able to build a house, lol.
I have been very selective about what renovations I have done in the last 5 years because it is just far too expensive.

Andrew Scheer is absolutely correct in stating (at the 14:00 point of the video) that the $5 billion Housing Accelerator Fund is not being used to build new homes. The Liberal government approach appears to be directly funding most of Canada's 3,000+ municipalities - which is crazy. Most municipalities would do is to take the pittance (usually between $20 -$80 million over 3+ years) and build municipal infrastructure in support of existing private sector housing projects.

Vassy is being a ball breaker to everyone today. Why don’t they make it simple. They take certain plots of land and give builders low interest loans to build homes on those plots. No long drawn out permitting process, no protests from residents in the area that don’t want those homes and get down to building. They don’t need to be putting duplexes in areas where they don’t belong they could build a city that is properly planned and serviced.

The NDP are so out-of-touch. Housing - let alone social housing - is not a Federal matter. She is talking about trampling upon provincial jurisdiction just as much or more than the Liberals tend to do. If we lost affordable housing under past Conservative government, it had infinitely more to do with the provinces and municipalities. The Liberals made this situation worse with their agressive immigration policies. She should look in her own back yard before pointing the finger.
Why cannot our governments start to make policies which incentivize all Canadians, new and old, to have more children? As it is, we are stuck on the immigration treadmill, and our original Canadian culture is heading into oblivion.

Isn't the NDP MP a joke. Blaming the Liberals and Conservatives, yet her party is too afraid of being held accountable as the official opposition. So they choose to support the policies of the Liberals. NDP voters you elected a bunch of grifters.

Nope they're fixated on a scapegoat.... to be fair Justin could just take a risk and actually do something but I doubt he will.... for that to happen the opposition would have to have anything to say at all.

Scheer has zero credibility, an utter failure as party leader, just a smirking little boy.

Yes, Mr Scheer was a disaster as CPC leader, but the Liberals promised 8 years ago to build these homes and took zero action until now. Yet, you're calling out Mr Scheer's credibility? That's rich.

The federal government's Greener Homes Grant program was a great success, offering $5,000 grants that helped many Canadians install solar panels and improve their homes' energy efficiency. This not only saved them money on energy bills but also helped reduce our country's carbon footprint. With the recent increase in the carbon tax, investing in renewable energy like solar panels makes even more sense. To truly empower Canadians to make a difference, we believe the Greener Homes Grant should be reinstated with an increased grant amount of $7,000.
We urge the government to bring back this valuable program and help Canadians build a greener future!
