Hi it’s really cold outside and I started classes again.
I meant to cover this a long time ago and even commissioned the art and everything, but I just never got to it. Well, now that it’s cloudy and sad outside, I guess it’s nekobolo time. Especially since this song always got me through dreary days in high school, taking a walk and listening to this song is how I got through a lot of things actually. (I also recommend Walt on the Zankyou no Terror OST,,,or the entire album heck)
Also, I know I could’ve translated the onomatopoeia phrases, but I enjoyed singing it in Japanese so much more. Now I realize it sounds like a Japanese lesson lol.

So the way I perceive music is a little different than other people. I hear the music as kind of a blue key. It sounds like the color blue to me. But every sharp and flat Juby sings sounds like yellow to me. This song makes me think of spots of sunlight inside of all of the sadness in the world. It gives me a little bit of hope. @Lucy Johnson Yep. As a chorus kid when we learn new music, I tend to remember the color before I remember the key.
I have a drastically different way I experience music, though also not too dissimilar (i think?). Basically, as opposed to abstract colors while listening to music I visualize a scene in my mind that forms in tune to the song. A fast, upbeat song will form into shapes fighting. While (coincidentally) songs like this one form a figure walking through static rain. If I can't visualize something with music, I have trouble connecting with it. It also gives great inspiration for story building and stuff! (Also, it's why I hate most dubstep- the images are too erratic if there are any, and the scene is unpredictable and uncomfortable)

I love the steady, languid beat of this song. It feels like someone just trudging along, heart beating sluggishly as they put one foot in front of the other, not really having any specific destination in mind. It's an apt metaphor for depression and depressive episodes, how it can feel sometimes like you're walking through a mire. Emotional blunting, boredom, yearning for some sort of change or excitement, something to inject a bit of color back in your world. Wishing for something or someone to come along and get your heart beating again, snap you out of your stupor, make you feel alive again. Make you feel happy to be alive, and look forward to the future. That is the sense I get listening to this song, and sadly it is all too familiar to me.
Definitely. For me it feels akin to when I settle into that twistedly comforting apathy. The sort of exhaustion and void that blankets over me like a humid, heavy cloth. I just kind of sit or lie there, in a stupor, and for just a moment the feeling brings me a sort of relief. And then, just as quickly, it's unbearable again. This song feels like a long extension of that brief, fleeting moment of solace you can get when you've been depressed for a long time; the brain really will find comfort in anything if you spend enough time with it.
At the same time, the end of the song feels ever so faintly hopeful. Just enough to get me to take in a breath and force myself to get moving. It's a really lovely song, and I think the fact it's Juby's voice makes it better. I used to listen to her music all the time growing up.
this song feels like a person slowly walking on a white line in an empty road and when the music picks up its like the person is doing a mixture ballet and acrobatics. when the song ends its like the person reaches their destination and opens their eyes and wipes tears from them. all wearing a yellow cardigan and sprinkling rain.
