The pivot swivel allows you to turn the drum 90 degrees and empty the drum better into where you want the med, without spilling over the outside of the form boards... There are pictures in the owners manual...
Thanks for the nice camera work on your project. I purchased the same (look & mechanical) concrete mixer with the branding of Yardmax 5.0 Cu. Ft. Concrete Mixer 3/4 HP YM0146. Both the Yardmax and the Ryobi look identical other than the paint colors and name branding. I'd found other brands of the same mixer too when I wanted to purchase this type of mixer but everyone was out of stock. (The Harbor Freight one is odd and clumsy IMO, also smaller capacity.) Yardmax and Ryobi look like they are made at the same factory. For me it was very hard to located the one I finally purchased at Rural King. Since I bought it, the price has increased about 50% and Rural King can't seem to get it in stock, I suggest you don't sell your Ryobi model as you may be hard pressed to find it again and the cost is crazy now.
Every Ryobi review is using Max bags. If you try to actually mix concrete with this mixer, it's horrible, you will be digging sand from the back constantly, the paddles are insufficient. Poor design

Yeah we tried thanks tho. Didn’t work well for us.
Hey Mike, nice mixer. Slab looks good.
Thanks Paul, it was a fun project.

Thanks a ton for the compliment it’s much appreciated sir. It’s a really useful tool so definitely plan on keeping it a bit. Mike
Nice job! Just bought the Ryobi mixer. I think I'll reinforce the back leg right off the bat based on some stories of it buckling.
Thanks John! Really appreciate ya watching.
Great job!
Now if I can only find a tank that is less then 3k lol.
@@kylefamilyhomestead7007 good luck! We paid $2500 for our 250 gallon filled and delivered.
tap the side of the forms when your pouring and you won't have those voids in the side
We did ;)
I use a saws-all without a blade and put the foot against the form.
Very cool.
Thanks Mike!
How many bags of 60lb concrete did you put in the mixer at once before you poured it into the slab ? 1,2,3v
We did 2 bags at a time.
Pour from the side instead of pushing it over to pour.
How many bags did it take to complete the job?
Sorry it’s been awhile I’m not sure.
So nothing retains the mixing drum on the shaft but gravity and friction?
Correct
It's screwed on
Would it be easier to just mix it in a wheel barrow ?
Depends. If the job is small enough sure. This job. No!
Kobalt mixer is better imo
Cool.
