  • The Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage has well and truly been let down by Riot Games but it's also been incredibly boring with the lack of inter-regional games between the top two regions. Like we haven't seen a clash between any of the top teams from the LCK and LPL. Also, I think that other areas where the tournament has been lacking has led to a set of bad matchups for both teams meaning that Neither Generation Gaming nor Jin Dong Gaming have had to leave their comfort zone at Worlds

I only caught the second game of GenG G2 and even as someone who doesn't know league that well it didn't feel close at all lol

part of that was Gen G showing their class and part of that was G2's weaknesses getting exposed (only two players in form, bad drafts, bad shot calling etc) although I would say that they are a top 8 team at worlds I don't think they are even close to top 8 in the world or even close to any of the top 4 teams (Gen G, LNG, JDG and T1)

yeah it's basically as you say although I would say that in my opinion G2 would only be top 8 at worlds if you count them as being equal with Dplus but there is a massive gap between the top 7 and the rest of the teams at worlds (ik G2 beat Weibo but if you watched Weibo you'd understand that Weibo are incredibly inconsistent but even one of their worse performances led to a close game against G2)

yeah the draw has really let down the Swiss stage but at the same time I think the games have been more fun than you suggest in this video

True but it’s also been really underwhelming

Nah but I’ve found it hard to get motivated for any of Gen G’s or JDG’s games

yeah, I plan on making a video about it, tbf it's probably how let down I feel that's leading me to be overly harsh about how lacking the matchups have been

Nah I have to disagree with you G2 are top 8 of the team's at worlds even if they're not even close to top 8 within the world

I love the optimism, keep taking that EU hopium bro.......... actually unironically G2 might be top 8 at worlds because of the gap between Weibo/KT and Dplus

Imo g2 giving over Xayah Rakan twice in a row is unforgiveably bad drafting. You’re never going to beat peyz and delight on those champs, especially not with poorly executed ezreal/Lissandra or lucian/naut lanes.
That being said, idk if G2 stood a chance even with a better draft.

Personally I would say that if you're the worse team which G2 obviously are it makes the draft ten times more important because if you can get a good, easy to execute draft then it's easier to take advantage of your opponents mistakes and easier to avoid your own but yeah idk how much it would have mattered against Gen G

How can you sayG2 are not top 8 in the world when they beat DK and WBG on stage and we already now they ahve over 60% wr vs every other lpl and lck team except Gen G in scrims . Like how exactly do you rate G2 lower then teams they are winning against lol

    • @DotDFLoL
      @DotDFLoL  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

I mean I would say there are about 4 obvious reasons why they aren't top 8 at world
      1) Weibo have incredibly high highs relative to their lows and barely lost against G2 in one of their bad games
      2) Europe often performs well in scrims against eastern teams and then bombs it in real games, also lots of eastern teams give up early if their opponents start overly well and G2 have solid early game and fail in the mid-late game
      3) G2 at worlds has been hard carried by Caps and Micky, hans has had some good games but also some incredibly costly mistakes, whilst Yike and BB have made some bad errors
      4) their decision making is literally awful
Relative to teams not at worlds
      5) OMG and EDG who are not at worlds are markedly better teams and both only failed to qualify as a result of their on-edge playstyle in an incredibly competitive league
      6) G2 would struggle against HLE who failed to qualify out of the LCK because of the stylistic matchup
hopefully that answers as to why I don't think G2 are top 8 in the world lol

oh and their drafts kinda suck rn

      @shfsughsiohoisfho6819 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I mean it's also worth saying that G2 haven't won a game at worlds without making at least one major error, they should have lost to DK and WBG with the major errors they made

@@DotDFLoL 1. that makes wbg a bad team not a good team coin flips teams are bad and G2 didnt got them on a bad day lool they just smoke them in lane and teamfights .
      2. idk about europe but G2 always sucks in scrim last year they had 32%WR including the bad teams , this year they have over 60% while scriming only top4 from lpl and lck .
      3. G2 hasnt been carried by 1 person they are performing as a team both caps and bb really have problems in lane but they kinda out teamfight their oponents .
      4. Their decision making is good they just got 2 moments unlucky they follow exactly same timers as JDG they just made some mistakes around the first nashors and by Gen G they just got outmatched but that's Gen G the 2nd best team to this event
      5. Omg and EDG aren't at worlds cause they suck , they can't draft their macro is BDS level they jsut have better mechanics but they are awfull that's way even WBG made worls and they didn't .
      6. G2 would smoke HLE go on FMKorea , one of the first scrims G2 had in korea was against HLE they beat them 5-0 in a 5 games set and 4 of the games were pre 25min wins .
I really think you should get more infos from koreans and lpl forums before claming same things everyone in korea rank G2 as top 4-6 they just go beaten by Gen G idk why people react like this Gen G smoke everyone in Korea and scrims and even in this event they already run circle around T1 .

      1. I didn't say being coin flippy made Weibo good, but they're still better than G2 and relative to performances in the LPL that was a bad game especially for TheShy and less so but still to a highish degree for Xiahou. Also if you hold coin flips teams as bad are G2 not a bad team? They coin flip in every even vaguely close game no?
      2. G2's scrim results this year are inflated as I explained and last year G2 scrim results was an anamoly that went alongside a bad roster.
      3. I didn't say one person, I said two, BB has problems both in and out of lane, yike has showed his inexperience in many games and hans looked shook up against DK and reacted way too slowly in two teamfights against weibo when G2 needed him to do anything but that.
      4. their decision making has been absolutely abysmal, resorting to coin flipping neutral objectives when they have better options (including simple things like turning instead of sticking to the objective) which tbf is part of the G2 identity
      5. that just really isn't true EDG struggled in the laning phase against top teams and OMG were let down by Aki messing up their attempts to make macro plays.
      6. wow scrimming a team in their offseason damn how shocking that they won easily. I don't know what forums your looking at but the ones I have looked at have been much more reasonable, saying that G2 are decent but that they would lose to a lot of the top teams when both sides are in top form, so they need a bit of luck and form so it's definitely not everyone in korea who ranks them as top 4-6, I tend to not look at Chinese forums that often as I don't speak mandarin so I don't have the ability to verify any translations. I don't know why you automatically assumed that I held T1 as a top team. T1 have a tonne of flaws in all aspects of their game. In fact I hold the LCK as being quite convincingly the 2nd strongest region behind the LPL.
