Really solid season for United. Bit of a false dawn, of course, but this was a great effort in an otherwise bad era. Billy Garton, Colin Gibson - some names I'd almost forgotten about there!
This United team under Ferguson did brilliantly to finish to that glorious Liverpool team of 1988 under Kenny Dalglish. Eventually the Hillsboro tragedy and Kenny's resignation ended Liverpool's reign and United under Ferguson took over domination.
