Hi Anna. I couldn't help noticing that you recorded this video on May 17th, but you've only published it now (August 6th). Did BMW impose some kind of embargo? I'm just being curious. Cheers.
As someone with a Ford Max hybrid with 310k miles on it, I wish BMW sold this vehicle in the US. I love the shape and practicality of the MPV style vechiles. You get the headroom and space of a small SUV without the gad penalty o f a bigger vehicle.
weren't for the absence of actual buttons for climate, seat heating and basic radio functions, this exact car, in this gorgeous colour combo, would be all I need. but I just can't stand resorting to a tablet every time I want to do something simple. oh wow...
Hello, Anna!! Thank you for this pretty interesting presentation. BMW certainly did a good job with this this MPV. But I have a question. *_Does the petrol engine charge the car's electric motor's battery?_*
As this is a plug-in hybrid, most charging happens when you plug it into the power. Nevertheless, you do get some charging with regenerative braking. Especially when you stop a lot in traffic but also very much on a descent, especially in the mountains 🙂
@@AnnaOnRoads, I see. Thank you very much. I hope someday they find a way to keep the electric motor battery charged the same way batteries are charged on any petrol engine car. 👍🏼👍🏼
I don't think they will do. It's a family car and it won't sell as good as SUVs so it probably didn't make much commercial sense to produce an M version.

@@richardhowlett9424 Richard, best cars to get in and out are crossovers. SUVs often sit too high so it is an illusion that they are the comfiest (not to mention the firmer suspension). Saloons are often too low. I can confirm this car would be far easier vs the Accord.

1:38 "Like a woman with no boobs and no silhouette but a big booty" In Au we have a saying. 'Nice ass but shame about the face' I give you the BMW 2 Series ACTIVE TOURER
Nice one Anna! As we have come to expect the production and editing values are great high standard. For me I thing the 2 series is OK but not great. My view so far given that I've not driven it. The good: it's a BMW so has that certain perceived quality and luxury associated with the badge. It should be nailed together well. In theory it should hold its value better than some others. The not so good: I'm not a fan of performing basic everyday tasks via a touch screen, yes they are getting better but still a long way off physical buttons. The look of the front, sorry BMW I still think you maybe went backwards with those huge nostrils. All that said I would not rule this car out completely but there are many other options that I would test drive ahead of the 2 series. SUV v MPV? At the moment with my health it would have to be an SUV but if things improve that could be a harder question to answer. Many thanks for sharing.
They engine/ phev range and performance is great but not the look of the car. I dont know why this phev electric range isn't in the bmw suv and saloon? The merc a250e and c class phev have the range
Not very Anna. Not very Anna at all. Been behind only one. And loved it. For its design for an MPV. Once googled it as didn’t know was a 2 active tourer. Promptly forgot all about it. Styling wise. A lovely MPV. I’ve zero need want wish desire. But. It’s pretty for it’s market sector.
Fantastic review Anna. When I read someone comment saying about boobs I was way what, What did I miss!!!! Very funny how you used the boobs and butt analogy to describe the BMW. But you might had answered you own question about men not doing or responding to your commands/ questions as they to busy admiring your looks and didn't take in your commands. You know us men can only do one thing at a time. 🤣😉. Now about the 2 series Active Tourer. I must admit I was going into this video think I'm not going to like this MPV but you convinced me other wise. It's not a bad looking car. The interior looks great especially the contrasting white and black and classy. They made a lot of room in a compact MPV. Naughty Naughty BMW i8 system!!!, If it didn't understand you then it definitely won't understand me. But I think the winner about this car is the performance and MPG but to do 50 real world miles on electric and 2 hours change on a wall socket is amazing. I could do most of my day journey work and back on electric and change each night. But I got to say it's still not my cup of tea but obviously there's a big market out there for the 2 series Active Tourer as BMW wouldn't make them if there wasn't. For me if I was going for a 2 series I would go for the Coupé or the Gran Coupé that you reviewed the other year but it would be a dream to have a M2. So I guess I'm not the target market for the Active Tourer. Brilliant video Anna. Well, all the best Anna. :-)
Looks like an X1, same interior as an X1, £5000 cheaper than an X1 and , depending on choice, the lower models in the range are under the £40,000 annual tax band in the UK.
Oh God those voice commands, would drive me to distraction. The old iDrive system was superb. Why the hell did they change it? It's like replacing abs brakes with drum brakes and saying "this is the way forward". Silly.
