if you think Taka with tattoos and cut out t-shirts is something special in the Japanese music scene, you haven't seen visual kei bands yet 😁😁 Japan is full of extraordinary subcultures, if you go to Shinjuku in Tokyo you will see a lot of very non-traditionally dressed young people. this song is generally for young people and if you watch the MV it's about Asian Americans' struggle in American society. But generally just the peer pressure and the societal norms that tell people to be "individuals" but judge them if they dress differently than the majority, or the Instagram influencers that teach young girls to be thin but at the same time older people will tell them to eat up. It's really about the mixed signals, which are universal around the globe and not specific to Japan.
Yes, there is a lot of sub cultures in Japan and other Asian countries as well but, all of them are looked down upon by the general public tho. Even, public places like waterparks, bath houses/saunas etc will not let admission to anyone, if they have visible tattoos showing. Unless they can be completely covered up. It's the same in Korea and China as well cuz, it's still associated with gangs and even on TV they will have their artist cover up, either with clothes, makeup, or skin color tape. For example, Korean Idols like JK of BTS had to wear gloves on his hands where he has tattoos or when Jay Park is on a variety show they have him all covered up with the clothes and he often seen with tape on his neck to cover up his tattoos. I haven't seen Taka on any TV shows but, I've seen other Japanese artist where they do the same thing when they are on public TV shows too.
I am surprised that people who come to Tokyo from abroad say that Japanese people have a very unique fashion and a free diversity that does not get addicted to the style. It's true that school is a uniform, but it's for adding crispness and is usually free. It often seems to be the same as Korea, but it is completely different. In Korea, everyone cares about other people's eyes and has the same hair fashion. Japanese people are tolerant, so there is not much discrimination. It's just that I'm shy and I'm not good at showing myself or I'm serious, so I don't have to compare myself with others. I think it's a fun song that is very encouraging because I feel like you're saying that. By the way, K-pop and JPOP are completely different. Japan's musicality is also unique in its own style♪
Thanks for your reaction guys. I hope you will watch the MV sometimes. It’s really moving and you see another side of the band’s message. I am seeing them tonight in concert. I am so hyped 😖
This song is talking about descrimination and racist in US, not in Japan. Japanese school have less descrimination because Japanese school have the same uniform and other stuf, so no one know which one is cool rich kid and which one is poor kid. While in US, every student used to show off their branded stuf. The more expensive their stuf, the more cool they are. They can clearly see the contrast. Plus, if new kids from other races show up out of nowhere. He must be get bullyed.
@@SknezE wdym backward? I have two college friend from Japan. One is from Nagoya, and one is from Osaka, and I always ask them about these issues. why don't you watch the Music Video of "Stand Out Fit In", and then came back here again to talk about it? North Korea and South Korea is actually the most racist country in Asia, not the country you think.
@@YourAveragePredator Taka never lived in the US. He writes music about his life. He went to school his entire life in Japan. Hence, Japan. It's good you have friends.
The music video does touch on that as an example of standing out and then trying to fit in. However it's way more general about social norms, they basically nailed most of the themes of the song at the first pause.
First time I have listened to this band. This song would have been used on Glee for sure back in the day. They have similar energy to 5 seconds of summer.
Valeu!Hi boys how are you? I tried to donate through Paypal but I couldn't 😒 so I came to make my donation right here and make my request for you to react to the official video for the song 'No More Sad Songs' by the group Little Mix, please!! Thank you and a hug!😍🇧🇷❤
Such an amazing review! Probably the best review I've ever seen! You guys crushed this review! Really reviewed the crap outta this one guys! That little bald one is just teasing me at this point. I think he shows off just to try to get me all bothered... It's working.
Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
Thanks for the breakdown! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Hello! I’d like to comment on the pronunciation of “ONE OK ROCK”! The name of the rock band “ONE OK ROCK” originates from the fact that they used to practice mainly at 1 a.m. (one o’clock). Since studio fees were cheaper during the late-night hours, they played on the word “ROCK” to create “ONE OK ROCK.” That’s why it’s pronounced “one o’clock” ✨
Jake, I totally had a comment along similar lines. I appreciate these songs for what they attempt to do. I actually went to this concert in Tokyo. But talk about everything being SAME in reality. The crowd jumps in unison. The ones in the back sit and wave their arm up and down in the same way THE ENTIRE concert. I took out my cell phone to take some footage and security came right over to make me delete it all because you are not allowed to take photos or videos. I live in Korea currently and it's similar. You are not allowed to actually stand out. It's very robotic in some ways the way everyone follows set rules/norms and the society destroys them if they step out of line. One reason BTS is so popular is because they preach the same message. Be yourself and love yourself. JK has tons of tattoos. But, the Korean media tries to destroy them any chance they get because they don't like the message. It's pretty ugly. I'm not trying to insult anyone's culture here. Just stating what I see. Actual personal freedom is still huge ways away. I know people are posting he's singing about America. Highly doubtful. Taka didn't live in the US to face discrimination. He's spent his whole life in Japan. He also just purchased a house in LA. They will never say anything too critical about their countries because it will be the end of them. It's not like in the US where you can freely criticize. They all have to do it in a coded way. Im not saying it's beyond the realm of possible but he has no reason to talk about the US never having lived there.
Takahiro is completely Japanese the whole band is he just practiced his English that’s all learning a different language is all .
My favorite song!thank you❣️thank you❣️thank you❣️
Love this song! Both the music video and the live orchestra version are amazing if y’all wanna check em out!
