when you finally get the cash, they are completely worth it. They're a little stiff at first and you will get blisters. But you'll love to hate them and when they get properly broken in, you will shiver with joy every time you put them on. I have had my pair for four years and it was the best money I have ever spent. They've been through hell and back, but that's what gives them character and thats why I love em
I just discovered this brand awhile ago(i was not born yesterday, im just not from USA, lol) i saw this and touched... really a different shoe from any other shoes. It has its unique characteristic that made me search the web. I'll buy one for sure! :D
I'm no US citizen but I agree, classic USA is the best, too bad things are so crappy now, would've loved to be there in the golden days... And I love these shoes, If I could afford a pair I would...
So how does this manufacturing process actually differ than the other sperrys? I assume the others are made in China where the workers are doing about the same exact manufacturing processes to make the same same shoe except given cheaper materials to work with and therefor not considered the artists that these guys are
I don't know the answer. But I can vouch that I go through footwear pretty quickly - including the pair of 'Made in China' Sperry Top-Sider deck shoes that lasted less than two years. I hesitantly imported a pair of these ('Made in Maine') to the UK from the US: they were difficullt to find and expensive, however, I've worn them most days in the past two years and they're proving to be utterly bulletproof, even after much wet weather abuse. Clearly, the materials and production process yields a much more durable product than other Sperry deck shoes, which is reflected in the price. I can recommend them, and they are certainly not the same shoe as others.
Sperry has the 'made in maine' chukka boot on sale right now for $98.. Regular $330. For $98, I'll give them a shot. I definitely would not have bought them for full retail of $330
Hey! I just bought a 10.5 Male US Size that is made in Dominicana Republic. It actually fits on my feet though I just to know if you're using for almost daily, would the leather will stretch and turn a litte bit bigger for my feet?
I do, I have one but I want a classic design, & I can afford it, it's just that there are other, priorities... not to mention Sperry doesn't ship to Malaysia :/
Go to sperrytopsider com and look for the "Made In Maine" line. Retail @$300 on the Sperry site. The cheaper ones are not made in the USA. If you have a link to $100 USA made Sperry Top Siders I'd be very interested in seeing it. Thanks.
Got a fresh pair of sperrys....made in Dominican Republic not In Maine. Such sadness to see $80 of the $100 going to the pocket of some rich corporate dude taking advantage of cheap labor...
You guys forgot to mention that the Maine shoe is $300. I love the shoe but maybe you should do it like other Maine based footwear companies that sell a premium product at a reasonable price.
I am a big fan of Sperry because of its classic design and durability.

You guys need to be teaching these skills to younger people so as the older ones retire, the trade can be carried on.

Roger Pan Mine were made in China. Maybe they just spelled "Maine" wrong and wrote China haha... probably not.
Roger Pan their 'Made in Maine' collection is what's being talked about in this video, the rest of their shoes are made overseas and not handcrafted
Let's be honest, people who buy and wear these have never even been on a boat...
I know, right? And most people who wear khakis have never even served in the British Army. What a bunch of phonies!
And most people that wear Polo never ridden a horse!
lel, ive been on a boat but not the kind of boat where you would need these
And most people that wear Nike aren't athletes!
And most people that wear Vans don't skate
i bought one made from Indonesia lel
Where u livin?
