My understanding is that Victor Borge got started with going almost pure comedy when he was playing a serious concert, and as he was doing a routine trill on the piano, he looked out at the audience, winked at them, and kept playing. The resulting guffaws convinced him to do full-on comedy, although he would also pull pranks on unsuspecting listeners, even as a child prodigy: He would play one of his own pieces, and attribute it to Beethoven or Brahms or whomever. His parents knew all along that this was one of Victor's tunes, but they didn't want to embarrass the guests who listened to him, that they had no clue it wasn't one of the masters! That alone makes Borge one of the greats!

This is a great example of what I always told my guitar students. Music is a toy, that's why we play music. We don't work music, we don't beat our heads against music because it feels so good when we stop. We play. Don't forget to have fun. The more you practice the more fun you can have.
