There’s definitely not a huge correlation between taco quality and price. Some of the best tacos in LA are from random hole in the wall restaurants

That's Mexican food in general, either go food truck or find a hole in the wall. It's more flavorful and spicy, chains or nicer restaurants tone it down hard.
Sitdown ones can be really good, but most of them are not nearly as good as a food truck or "fast food" Mexican place.
100%! I miss LA taco trucks. 😭 We have taco trucks where I live now, but I'm much further north, and even the best ones aren't as good as the average ones in LA, sigh.

It's crazy how the fine dining consistently does things that, when placed alongside the same food from other restaurants, make no sense or really miss the mark. Chefs in those restaurants really try too hard for the price differences.
You pay for ambience and setting in a fine dining restaurant
And quality ingredients usually
This series is one of my favorite things to watch. The guys are fun ni matter what it is though
