Trying a First Class Royal Cabin on the Ferry in Japan | Osaka to Ehime

  • I tried the most expensive cabin, First Class Royal, on the ferry from Osaka to Ehime Japan. If you are looking for a big private cabin and a short ferry trip, this might be a good option.
There are four Royal Cabins on this ferry (two twins and two doubles).
The fare was 25,650 JPY / 233 USD.
One adult is 17,100 JPY. Two adults are 34,200 JPY. If you book a Royal Cabin alone, you need to pay extra 50% of one adult fare (8,550 JPY).
    17,100+8,550=25,650
*Above fares are calculated on the B period. (There are A, B, C in a year)
*The fare changes depending on the season
The ferry is operated by Orange Ferry

From what I understand, that's a pretty common thing in Japanese culture. Partially because it's rude but also because Japanese people hate being in other's photos/videos, they know how annoying it can be to get a good shot

I think it is for two reasons… one: the government it’s still asking to not travel if it is not necessary between prefectures, so there’s no much people around… two, and more important: you can do the same route with a Shinkansen for half price and half time, even via bus it takes 6 hours instead of 8 and the price is also around 8/9000¥. With a car also could take half time. I don’t think a lot of people would like to spend those money to make a trip that other way take half time and half price…

"My door is huge - I'm getting excited"
That's why I watch these videos; it's great to see someone actually enjoying the little things on their trip. Also, I'm kind of amazed at how spacious this room is - I know it's First Class and all, but it's just unusual to see such big open spaces in Japanese society. I guess it makes sense considering that the ocean is so big and there's no real limit on how you big you can make a ferry if you have enough money, but even so, wow!

Dogo Onsen is located in the main tourist hub of Matsuyama and is a five-minute walk from the Dogo tram stop along a bustling shopping arcade. If you are heading to Dogo from JR Matsuyama Station, take a tram. You'll get there in about 30 minutes.

It's fantastic that you get to travel so often. I will definitely plan something with a cruise on my next trip

People who ask why you always take a public bath have clearly never experienced it. One of the things I enjoyed most when travelling in Japan. Enormous, warm, and relaxing. They sometimes even put a load of rubber ducks in too, and nobody is ever too old for that.

Another enjoyable and hilarious video. Thank you STJ. Thanks for the new menu you chose. I've never seen that menu before. Love the boat, menus on the restaurant looks yummy, love the 911 room except for the light switches, it's ridiculous you had to get out from the bed, and.... they put clean towels.... not in the bathroom. Maybe they put the champagne in the in-room safe box that's why you didn't find it. Lastly, only 10 hours on the boat, and the schedule suck. BTW, no coffee shop on the boat?

All I know about Shikoku is that there is a breed of dog there that is considered a national treasure of Japan- but I would love to learn more! I look forward to your next video.

Wow 🤩. Such an amazing space! It is about the price of many hotels, and is sea worthy.
