The most painful death in Supernatural. Because every death always tragic, sad, unexpected but this time Cass fully embrace his death, smiling in peace as he was dying :'(.
I didn't think it was possible, but without music *the* scene is even more heartbreaking. Misha and Jensen did a fantastic job with it. Thank you so much for this reaction. Time has flown so freaking fast, it is hard to understand that you have almost reached the ending of this show.
Castiel's monologue was so well written and so well delivered by Misha, it was the perfect send off to an iconic character. RIP Cas. I absolutely can't wait for your reaction to the final two episodes and see what you think about the ending.
No Cas has said I love you to Dean before. I love you not I'm in love with you. Destiel isn't canon. Telling someone you love them doesn't have anything necessarily to do with sex. Love could be brotherly, family, etc. Why do some assume love can only be sex?
I was dreading the reaction to this episode, because even a year later Cas's death breaks my heart! I started sobbing again right with you, Dakara. This episode made me fall in love further with these two and the friendship/relationship they had, AND made me a Destiel shipper (not ashamed of it, its canon now!). This episode was truly heartbreaking. Great reaction, Dakara. We are almost to the end.
I'm confused, when did fanfic become Canon? Pretty sure deans been straight since like forever and I'm pretty sure cass as both a human and angel has slept with women (even had a wife in season 7 🙂) and by all means, tell me how misha collins and the writers virtue signalled and pandered to the extremely vocal and hostile section of the fanbase that demanded "destial" and even went after jensen and the show for his acting in the scene labelling him homophobic, it don't change the Canon. But by all means have your fanfic, I say this not to hate but cause I love the show like how I love buffy, where a popular character who wasn't gay learned they were gay and it was very well done and I was fully behind it before I get labelled homophobic 🙂
@@55titles12 Misha Collins, himself, said that this was Cas confessing his love to Dean and he said that this scene makes Destiel canon. If you scroll through his socials, you will see that he has shared many posts related to Castiel's sexuality post-15.18. It's true that Cas had relations with women on the show but who's to say that didn't change as he got more closer to Dean, even as a friend at that time . There are people who discover their sexuality later in life. Its true Cas was as angel, but he slowly became more human as the seasons passed. Who's to say he didnt develop human feelings along the way. Plus, he was also losing his powers towards the last season, hence becoming more human. Also, I didnt ship these two until this very episode. It was beautifully shot and executed. The dialogue and everything was perfect. As for the extreme destiel fans, I dont know about that nor have I come across them. I have been in the Destiel fandom for a year now and all the people I have met have been lovely so far.
@@sameeyaasif2574 I actually don't disagree with alot of what you've said, it was beautifully shot, you can absolutely have the discussion that cass may have changed towards the end however regarding Misha while it is interesting to hear the takes from the actual actor that plays the character I don't think him being the actor gives his views any more weight than mine or yours or anyone else's, also I find it really hard to take actors at their face value regarding sensitive subjects such as this given how hollywood is these days with wanting to be extremely positive towards these kinds of subjects cause they could face career damaging backlash if they don't, I also believe cass did love Dean I don't even see that as up for debate giving everything he done for Sam and Dean but I don't think he was in love with him and I think it lends alot to the whole stereotype that if men share their feelings it leads to them being labelled as "gay" which is why men tend to not share feelings as much. However I will say I appreciate your response you were very respectful when most aren't regarding this issue and I don't mind people having their opinions at all but when people try to say, which you haven't, that "destial is Canon they are in love and you're just a homophobe and a hater" I just find them really ignorant and disrespectful. But again thanks for being respectful and having an actual discussion and apologies for the long reply lol 🙂
@@55titles12 the writers told Misha, before filming season 12, that Cas had romantic feelings towards Dean, and he then played him as such... Whether you ship it or not is completely your perogative, but saying that what the actors say about it is completely irrelevant, is kinda ignorant too, in my opinion... You can take it however you want, but... They planned on making it canon back in season 12, but because the producers were to scared of the homophobic viewers (not talking about you here, as I don't think of you as homophobic), they scratched it and waited until the end of the final season... That is what we call serious queer baiting and the "last minute gay"-trope... You're probably not going to do this, and I won't judge you for it, but if you are at all interested in giving destiel a chance, you should watch some of the many analysis video essays that have been made... Someone made an entire video series on the matter, showcasing their relationship, from season 4-15 and how it evolved... I'm guessing you are straight, and as such, are not used to catching queer baiting when it happens, but as a queer person myself, with the lack of representation in mainstream media, still to this day, we have learned to recognise even the smallest of hints, and boy is there a LOT when it comes to destiel... Edit: the video series is made by the youtuber Bob Wess
@@suctioncatfish5506 well let me just say I appreciate that you didn't just call homophobic or a bigot or a troll in an effort to completely dismiss me as I've seen happen alot with this subject lol I guess I'll start with what you said about the writers and I pretty much believe the same with what I said about misha I just don't think it comes from an organic "story driven" place but rather to pander to the fans in an effort not coming across as homophobic themselves, you said season 12 they said this? I'm sure season 12 was 2016 which was when hollywood really started to go the whole "woke" way (to be clear I don't think having gay lead characters or female/poc leads in movies/tv shows is inherently woke, that's silly, it's when that is made to be a selling point and it takes priority over the story which I also see as just using them to score virtue points) I'm also not sure what you, or rather what you said about the writers, mean about not wanting to make it cannon cause of "homophobic viewers" like what lol? Where is that assumption coming from that there was homophobic viewers and apparently enough of them that it affected the producers decisions? If they did say that sorry that sounds like bs to me a way to have your cake and eat it to with the fans that wanted destiel like "Look guys we WANT to make them gay but these dang homophobic viewers ya know like what ya gonna do so, sorry about that" see what I mean that's how that comes across to me anyway As for the "last minute gay" trope I can see where your coming from but when I saw that scene where cass is taken and he says goodbye to Dean it honestly never came across as an admission of being in love with Dean but rather a heartfelt goodbye to someone he loved as a brother and I still see it that way In regards to "representation" in main stream media I can only give my pov, I don't understand where this come from, I don't understand why people feel the need to see themselves represented in the stories they see whenever I relate or get attached to or like/dislike characters its because of their character how they're written the choices they make and how they grow as a character and their role in the story it has absolutely nothing to do with their race, gender or sexual orientation and I don't writers having to create characters and change theor story in order to suite those characters all for representation is helping with story telling at all the writers vision should be just that his/her vision I think I've responded to all your points and god knows this reply doesn't need to be longer lol apologies for that btw 😅
Misha nailed that last scene. it breaks my heart...hell it breaks my body and soul every time I watch it. and I've watched it a lot! to the point that I've memorized all the words and they haunt me till my last day. Cas smiling while going ... I just can't. I still can't believe the "I Love You" I waited so long to hear, came up this way, and after 13 months I'm still in denial. this episode really is DESPAIR...
"You don't think you deserve to be saved?"- ironically, i believe, this was the only command by Heaven Cas truly upheld...to the end. For me, watching this episode was facing hysteria in several ways; confusion at "The writers aren't going there", "I'm so bloody proud of this angel" and then just- joining you in waves of "Despair" (the brutal honesty of the title...), Castiel (for many reasons) had become my "comfort character" and he departed. But, being true with himself; saying his "deepest truth" (as the script for that scene described his words) and then the line, "You can simply choose to be happy"- even in its simplicity, that is a powerful and dear thought. There is a lot that happened the day this aired (and then...events carried on for months following) but, what was beautiful was the energy in this fandom and the ignition of creative outpouring. There are such wonderful edits on TH-cam that- fair warning- are magnificent and heartbreaking of this angel's and hunter's story; one that is for the fans but, spoken about with such care by those involved whilst making it and that, now, is insanely appreciated. Then, the parallels of all these characters loosing a part of their hearts- just, good god, Robert Berens wrote impeccably cause there are delicate meanings woven into characters' actions, words and then settings (extremely fun fact: Cas's introduction was stepping onto a devil's trap and that is where his exit it...doesn't one adore parallels?). But, for Sam to say "if i go there, i'll loose my mind" and doesn't allow himself to feel completely for loosing Eileen (which, as soon as the "typing-dots" disappeared, i remember having to take one of my many breathers throughout this stressful experience) however, Dean does break down. That moment was truly astonishing to witness because it truly encompasses the range of..."despair" he was feeling that it stopped him from picking up his brother's phone call. He couldn't. This episode is remarkable in a sense that, it gives more depth to Dean and Cas's interactions before; especially saying that Misha has said to have known of this confession...a year? before and thus, played Cas acknowledging that truth....ironically, admitting he didn't end up changing anything. But then, to point out- Jack may most likely know what Cas has done as the deal was made in front of him...which also means he knows Cas found happiness. What he said he couldn't see himself achieving anytime soon. Yet, in all the moments where his dad was with his found-family, he good grasp purpose and contentment, whilst loving Dean from a distance. Also, the bloody handprint on Dean's jacket...the callback to their first, true interaction and the circularity of how they've grown from there. They've fought together and built trust that has been forged through many betrayals but, prevailing them had welcomed vulnerability and strengthened the Winchester's found-family to fight against...everything. But, this mark- it's permanently on his jacket; Cas's love immortalized...and the fact that, Misha, Jensen and Richard all worked to add that into this scene...a gut-wrenching brilliance. "Despair" is definitely... an experience and i'm glad you've now shared it because- literally, it means a tremendous amount to several; all for unique and valuable reasons. One, for me, to see Cas express the love he had learned for humanity; for the man before him cause, as said in the script, he was "Still beautiful. Still Dean Winchester".
Castiel's final scene was masterfully written and acted...partially because it left the ultimate interpretation of Castiel's love up to the viewer. No matter your individual interpretation, it was easily one of the finest moments of the entire series.
Oh god. I watched this live and at first I was crying, even before the episode started because we knew something big and heartbreaking was about to happen (it was so bad my bf brought me a tray with sweets and snacks on it as a little solace). Then the episode started and I kind of cried through the whole thing and I was like "Are they really going there? Seriously?" and they did. And then I started laughing in addition to the crying and I could. Not. Stop. The internet was going nuts. Destiel trended #1 on twitter worldwide in the night it became clear Trump lost the US election, millions of tweets, of memes, of people screaming at each other excitedly and full of hope that this was leading somewhere, because it just made sense, right? Right? I did not sleep for one minute that night (in my timezone, new SPN episodes aired at 2am), instead I was scrolling through twitter and tumblr nonstop and my talking to my SPN chat group. We weren't able to talk about anything else the whole week, we were in complete hysterics sometimes. What a great time, even if it didn't last very long.
Love that episode & the confession scene is just chef's kiss, over a year has passed & some people are still trying to say a love confession isn't romantic somehow 😂, i loved Misha's performance so much 🥺, saying his feelings to dean was his moment of true happiness that he wasn't letting himself have 😭, my personal belief/read of the show is that he could've had it, i know many disagree & that's completely fine, but i believe dean has been in love with him for years, he also wasn't letting himself have it, it's so tragic. I don't think i will ever recover from this episode. The only thing that gives me tiny amount of peace of mind is cas helping jack make heaven a better place for humans & especially dean, like bobby said, the heaven you deserve, get yourself an angel who redecorate heaven for you 😂, they are reunited in heaven now even if unfortunately we don't get to see their reunion Death has always been a neutral entity, not good, not bad, i wish they didn't kill Billie, loved your reactions to the show & being a small part of your journey 🥰
The way they acted this 😭😭😭. Amazing performance I can't. Shame people went on Jensen about his i didn't agree. But I guess that was mostly out of context of the show seeing only this scene (it was trending everywhere, above us election, breaking internet). But for us watching everything it was kinda obvious step especially after Dean purgatory monologue
Especially because Jensen only said that it took him a while to get used to it. And even if he disagreed that would have been his opinion and it would have been okay. He has lived with Dean in his head for over 15 years, he is entitled to have his own opinion on things without people being mean.
@@Davidscomix See, I also don't think that that would have worked out, but if people want to ship it, they can. I just have a problem with people thinking that Destiel is the only possible solution for their relationship and nothing else is valid.
@@haversidne3658 Its a declaration of love irrespective of who utters it, the fact that some of the fans see it as 'homosexual' misses the point. In their eagerness to pair these two together, mostly to fit and suit their narrative and anything less is damned to the furthest reaches of hell, or at least twitter where they still continue - even now to debate this.
kept the last season being what it could have been? only the last two episodes were effected by covid and even then, covid changed a couple of things only.
The last few episodes of every supernatural season are super important. I think they’ve always done the best at wrapping up their seasons. But season 15 was just weird. Not their fault obviously.
So, this is season 15 episode 18, the episode that made destiel canon and broke all our hearts. This is also the last supernatural episode that i consider a genuinely good one. I wanted to thank you for this wonderful journey as i loved rewatching this show with you, especially since I’ve been watching your reactions since you started season 5. This is the end of the journey for me as I can‘t bear to watch the last two episodes again because i hated them so much. This was an incredible reaction and i definitely teared up rewatching the confession scene. (Also I definitely agree with the fact that they shouldn‘t have made Billie evil/an antagonist. I always saw her as someone neutral who was just trying to keep the balance and not have favorites.)
I get where you come from because I feel the same. I actually thought a lot about if I am going to watch the last episode here or not because I never want to see or think about it again, but next episode I am still going to be here for sure. The thing is, I was so into it and I was basically unable to function in the week episode 18 and 19 and then 20 aired and I am not sure I want to relive all that and everything that came after that. Everything of the fallout that's mentioned in Sarah Z's video - I was there, I invested so much emotion into this show and the characters and the story I felt they were telling that it affected my mental health and I had to take a step back (which happened twice now, the first time it was after Doctor Who S10 where another comfort character of mine died). In my esyes, this was the last good episode of the show because starting now, it feels like they're telling a whole different one abandoning everything I liked about the show (which is not just Cas, just for the haters: leave me alone).
They actually edited out a lot of the confession scene. It was so heartbreaking and beautiful. The confession was confirmed to be romantic by Misha, Robert Berens (writer), Richard Speight Jr (director) and the rest of the cast and crew. Jensen actually said that he has the raw unedited footage of the confession in his phone because he needed to record it, keep some semblance of it with him forever because it was so profound. I'm gonna cry bye. Destiel going canon trended above the US elections and putin's resignation on twitter on November 5th, it was a pretty big deal lol.
## Lazarus Rising - The devoted angel without any human feelings, who served God's orders without question...introduces himself to Dean😎 ## Despair - The devoted angel now with a human heart and understanding that his creator (God-Chuck) is nothing but a dickbag, saves Dean (a human) by sacrificing himself...😭
@@siuuuuuuu8626 it's literally confirmed by the writers of the episode, the director and Misha Collins? The only reason why it's not fully canon is because of homophobia
@@irmakbora2311 HAHAHAHHAHAHAAH dude chill Castiel its not even a human, he is a Fuckinh ANGEL, so how can he be homosexual if its not even human You stupid people hurt my head
@@haversidne3658 you literally just called him by he/him prounouns? What do you think homosexuality is? And even if he is not homosexual, he is still canonly in love with Dean.
I love this episode but I hate how toxic the fandom was about it, people called jensen's acting bad or homophobic, people were trying (and continue to try) to shove their opinions about the episode down eachothers throats, people were coming back (after having not seen the show since like s9) saying that this episode was random and badly written... the list goes on and it was just ridiculous! So long as everyone remains respectful, why does it matter if people agree with you or not?
Yeah. Jensen's perfomance was so good. People who say that Dean didn't react or that Jensen's acting was bad.. I dk what show they watched. Dean ( who def loved Cas back) was too stunned to speak and then in seconds realized that he'd lose Cas forever and then sat down on the floor sobbing and ignored his brothers call. He definitely, reacted.
I don't have any social-media accounts but every now and then i check Twitter of J2M because they're pubblic and anyone can read them. Misha tweeted a beautiful tweet (with an amazing photo) , and pinned it, just before this episode aired. Then i watched this episode and finally i get the message. In my headcanon that tweet is a reference to the final of this episode. Go check it out. It's still pinned and now, it's spoiler free.. Dakara, see you in the next 2 (with a truck of tissues). See you soon. Cheers from Italy
I liked Death and Billie, amazing characters 😍 But: ever since Death wanted Dean to kill Sam (when Dean had the mark of Cain), I didn't trust him. And Billie was never a fan of the Winchesters and hated Cas since he killed her.
Love all.of your reactions. Ugh this was the most emotional episode. Can't believe you've made it this far. You gotta react to some old shows too. I just binged superman when he was a teen on a show called 'Smallville' and I'm so hooked to it now. Old is new. Please react. React to Dawson's Creek too. Only 6 seasons but still good.
Even when Billie was just a reaper, she has always hated that Dean has escaped death or has been resurrected over and over. Ash said Dean and Sam have died more than most people and we know that during Mystery Spot, Dean died at least a hundred more times than Sam ever has. Billie has never confessed that she has actually changed her mind about Dean and she believes he doesn’t deserve to keep coming back. So it is no surprise to me that she “betrayed” Dean in the end. Loved Castiel’s epic exit. His original mission was to rescue Dean from hell and then to watch over the boys… and sacrificing his life for Dean was the perfect ending. All heller and anti-Destiel comments aside, if you just look at Castiel’s journey, he arrived as a cold instrument to observe and protect but not get too close. Before Cas found and inhabited Jimmy Novak, when he was on earth the first time, Cas was female. We keep forgetting Cas is an Angel, a genderless celestial being. So it is no surprise that the more Cas is around people, the more he starts to care and feel human emotions like love. Yes, Misha confirmed Cas is romantically in love with Dean and that one unrequited version of Destiel is now cannon. But my argument is that this moment is much more significant than defining Cas by his sexual orientation. Cas has never defined himself by his sexual orientation. That’s not the point of the scene. It’s about how one human drastically changed a celestial being and made him experience human emotions like fear, gratitude and love. That is huge for an Angel. Poor Dean is shell shocked bec he lost his best friend along with everyone and everything around him. He knew somehow that this really was goodbye to his best friend.
Cas being Lgbtqia+ is an identity, it's not a sexual act! He was in love with dean that makes him lgbtqia+, i know some people think you aren't lgbtqia unless you have sex but that's not the case, angels on the show have been shown to fall in love &/or have sex so i wonder why people only bring up being an angel re cas in this scene like it proves it's not romantic somehow, like no one said that about Gabriel starting in porn lmao
@@HasnaaAlaa I do agree it was a declaration of real love bec Misha played it that way. The point is that people missed the point. It was the entire journey of a genderless being that could not originally feel human emotions has learned to care and love. The fact that his vessel is male is incidental.
@@deannawinsletthughes5958 he's not genderless, he's genderfluid or non binary, genderfluid or non binary people can be in relationships, and again no one said that about Ana, Gabriel, Ishim, seraphina, lucifer etc... Every nephilim that exist is the product of a relationship between a human & an angel, i don't think anyone is missing the point that dean changed cas that's literally in his speech i just don't understand why people feel very strong need to purify it like a male presenting non binary being loving a man is something unclean or bad that they need to change or find other explanations instead of the obvious, romantic love isn't bad & it's part of the human feelings spectrum so why do people believe cas or any other angel can experience every human emotion except for that one?! Him being an angel didn't stop him from feeling paternal love for jack or familial love for Sam so why would being an angel prevent him from feeling romantic love? This is not towards you especially, this is just my frustration with what people say about it in general, they think we're stupid & don't understand the depth of this scene coz to them romance is inferior & just for teenagers 🙄, a bit of misogynistic view, romantic love irl often is deep & meaningful even if lots of movies portray it poorly, i think cas's love story was epic & the best i have seen on tv, i don't believe that cas is in love with dean just coz Misha said so, it's because it's literally in the show & has been from the start, his last scene just confirmed it
@@HasnaaAlaa I’m just sick of the arguing. Why does he have to identify as anything? He is an Angel. The vessel was female the first time on earth and then male. Cas even corrects Dean when he pointed out Benjamin was in a female vessel saying “he’s an Angel” meaning the Angel isn’t a “he or she” or whatever label humans have come up with to put on people. I agree that from day one Cas has had an attachment to Dean that he himself couldn’t understand. It’s all because of that bizarre crazy chemistry between Jensen and Misha. When the writers and the directors and cast and crew and the whole world saw it you know the writers had to use it to their advantage. It’s not a platform. It is about viewers and ratings. It developed into something much more meaningful to a large group of fans who have taken it and distorted and blown it up to where the end of the show and Misha’s epic ending were and still are so hated it has divided the fandom. It’s a tv show. It has great meaning to lots of people but at the end of the day, it’s just a show.
Dakara, you view of Billie is right. She was in fact the savior of this Earth since Chuck wanted to destroy this world like the rest and start anew without carbon-based life. She didn't tell the Winchesters what she was doing because she did wanted them dead for good and (she must have watched the show, too) she knows neither of them will let somebody try to kill his brother without interviening and try to save the day. And, let's face it, the Winchester brothers are very good at improvising and saving the day. But let's also face the fact that Billie was never neutral, not like the original Death was. As a reaper, she had a grudge against the Winchesters and their ways of disrupting the natural order; even as the new Death, knowing why they had to keep on living... she still held a grudge. So... yeah. Her motives made sense and were not evil. She might have explained everything to the boys just before wiping them from Earth. But dying before seeing the natural order restored made her vicious. She became a vilain in the last 15 min. of the run of her character by wanting to revell in Dean's death.
Dakara, what you might not remember from either earlier in this episode or from the episode before it, is that she included on her list of people to kill/eliminate/send back -- not only people of earth like Sam and Dean who had died and been resurrected multiple times, but also all the refugees from the other worlds; she would send the refugees back to world(s) that Chuck had recently destroyed (like during last episode or this). People from earth who had been resurrected from hell or heaven or purgatory -- would have a place to return to. The refugees (who had never died) would have no place to go.
I feel you about Death. I mean I saw Cas' confession a mile away (I was just shocked that the writers were allowed to do it) but the set-up for Billie as bad wasn't really well-made and not signaled at all.
After over a decade of entertainment that these guys have brought to us to see certain groups in the fandom and even some outside of the fandom attack the actors on social media (after they delivered such a powerful scene) was more heart breaking than the actual episode. I am not a shipper and never saw anything in the Dean / Cas relationship other than 'brotherhood' but I took Cas declaration as a romantic confession. I personally do not doubt that Dean loves Cas but as a brother and a friend. This is my opinion and I respect anyone else's right to a different opinion. To the groups on either side who continue to cause discourse on social media and purposely try to wind the other side up - GROW UP and let people like or not like what they want! The actors put their heart and soul into the show and even though I am not a fan of season 15 - they delivered in every episode despite it not being strong writing - again in my opinion.
I liked season 15 and I'm not sure about romantic, but I agree with everything else. People need to accept that there are different opinions and see that the actors are also entitled to have their own. Even if that opinion differs from what their own opinion is.
I completely agree, the debate about the whole issue is still being played out on SM and its almost ridiculous in its toxicity, and the crap they give the actors is quite disturbing - they are acting in within that telling a story. That's it.
@@gemqueen1866 Yes, plus the fact that all of them, but in particular J2M, have invested a lot of their time into the show and the conventions. I know that that's their job and stuff, but still. Especially J2 have said at Cons a few times that they are basically fighting sleep to spend time with their family and friends, because they are travelling so much. I know that that's their job, they get paid and they enjoy it, but it probably still wasn't easy. Treating them badly because you don't agree with something that has been written for their characters is just not something that should be done. And if you are mad at the writers and where they took the story, you can still be nice about it. Or write fanfiction. Just don't take it out on them in a hurtful way. They also care about the show, they have invested a lot of their time into it. They just had a different opinion than some people on what the ending should be. Doesn't mean they don't care or should be treated badly.
@@gemqueen1866 I think debate is healthy and sometime needed but sadly, it needs people to be respectful which sadly is a principle that is increasingly lost on social media these days. I really hated Billie from the beginning. She had nothing redeeming about her as a character. The OG Death was great, and I just wish he wasn't replaced
Thanks for the memory's Misha Season 4-15 Great send off 👏 Episode Director was Gab himself Richard Spade Jr, So Screw Billy never liked or trusted her even back to season 11 Screw Chuck he killed everyone in the world, I love when Cas voice left and Misha saying goodbye to Jensen Amazing proformace by them both👏 (And just Me I know a lot of people view Dean and Cas as a romantic thing and hey more power to you Just Me this was a Best Friend good bye) Just Amazing episode Great reaction as always Dakara Carry on 👍
If it's a "Best Friend" goodbye, then why does Cas say the one thing he wants he can't have? He's already best friends with Dean. Dean loves him as a best friend. What is the thing he can't have? Requited love. He knows that Dean doesn't love him back the same way. It's the only way it makes sense, and writers, actors and director all confirmed it. But I agree there's no two way romantic relationship in that sense.

I never trusted Billie at all, Cas and Dean performance was golden globe winner. Sam watching everyone dead pissed me off the most. Watching cas dead nearly made me cry.
Jensen told what happened behind the scenes when cas dead. Two or three crew members couldn't keep it in and started crying. Most of them had to leave, however 1 or 2 watched. Crying their heart out. I think Jensen said it was one of the most emotional scenes not just for the cast but for the crew as well.
I still cry.. I never recover.. I have to say that i stopped watching supernatural after this eposide.. For me that was the end and i can never get myself to watch it..
Understand your not wanting to watch the last 2 episodes after this. I realize that it's not really enough, but in the series finale, when Dean goes to heaven, he and Bobby sit having a beer; Bobby explains how the new heaven was redesigned -- not old memories, but new ones you could make; he could visit his parents' heaven... Bobby called it "the heaven you deserved." The kicker, Bobby said, was that Jack (now god) created the new heaven with help from Cass.
Cas was so in love with Dean, it breaks my heart. Apparently this was cut. That scene. Jensen argued with the writers about it but they said he was "too close" and left dean's response out. It was mutual for Dean. My Destiel loves. ❤️
Game of Thrones destroyed the whole show with the end season. I'm glad for all of those who can separate the end with the main body. But with GOT it was building up for the whole series, and then the end revealed that it was all a scam. Most of the mysteries were just BS. GOT was amazing, the first 4 seasons were great, even though you could see the problems even on season 4, but overall it was amazing. But the bad seeds were planted in season 4, and the fruits came through in the end.
I am also more on the friendship train with their relationship, but if there are other interpretations, I don't mind. As long as everyone is respectful with each other and doesn't push his or her opinion on other people. Oh, and don't you mean fourth season ? ;p
@@Davidscomix I like that route, too. They have been through so much, there is just a deep connection there (just, in my view not a romantic one). Apparently, Misha 'confirmed' that Castiel was gay and actually in love with Dean. Personally, I don't care it doesn't matter if someone is gay, bi or straight. That's their choice. Super As for me, I don't agree with it, truthfully, and if what Misha said is correct then my overall opinion on the series has been thrown into the air. If Castiel was a gay character and that had been known from the get go, that would be one thing...but waiting until the last episode he was in...to make it 'known', is pretty deceitful and low. And quite frankly, I can't and don't hold the series in as much respect as I once did
Cas left his bloody handprint on Deans left shoulder. I breaks my heart.
Damn it, you beat me to it ;P
The handprint gets me. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I’ve seen that part dozens of times, and that’s the only part that kills me. Every time.

The most painful death in Supernatural. Because every death always tragic, sad, unexpected but this time Cass fully embrace his death, smiling in peace as he was dying :'(.
Actually no. For Cas fans yeah but no not the most painful for every fan.
God I love castiel I was glad that he finally told dean how he felt about him
Never noticed it before later seasons so I guess they decided this last minute
No Cas has said I love you to Dean before. I love you not I'm in love with you. Destiel isn't canon. Telling someone you love them doesn't have anything necessarily to do with sex. Love could be brotherly, family, etc.
Why do some assume love can only be sex?
@@JohnWinchester3567 we didn't say it had anything to do with sex tho...
@@JohnWinchester3567 that may be true, but the writers certainly messed it up
@@JohnWinchester3567Misha Collins literally said that the confession was a “homosexual declaration of love” and that scene was, “Cas’ coming out.”
I'm sure season 12 was 2016 which was when hollywood really started to go the whole "woke" way (to be clear I don't think having gay lead characters or female/poc leads in movies/tv shows is inherently woke, that's silly, it's when that is made to be a selling point and it takes priority over the story which I also see as just using them to score virtue points)
I'm also not sure what you, or rather what you said about the writers, mean about not wanting to make it cannon cause of "homophobic viewers" like what lol? Where is that assumption coming from that there was homophobic viewers and apparently enough of them that it affected the producers decisions? If they did say that sorry that sounds like bs to me a way to have your cake and eat it to with the fans that wanted destiel like "Look guys we WANT to make them gay but these dang homophobic viewers ya know like what ya gonna do so, sorry about that" see what I mean that's how that comes across to me anyway
As for the "last minute gay" trope I can see where your coming from but when I saw that scene where cass is taken and he says goodbye to Dean it honestly never came across as an admission of being in love with Dean but rather a heartfelt goodbye to someone he loved as a brother and I still see it that way
In regards to "representation" in main stream media I can only give my pov, I don't understand where this come from, I don't understand why people feel the need to see themselves represented in the stories they see whenever I relate or get attached to or like/dislike characters its because of their character how they're written the choices they make and how they grow as a character and their role in the story it has absolutely nothing to do with their race, gender or sexual orientation and I don't writers having to create characters and change theor story in order to suite those characters all for representation is helping with story telling at all the writers vision should be just that his/her vision
I think I've responded to all your points and god knows this reply doesn't need to be longer lol apologies for that btw 😅
And did you notice on Dean's shoulder was a handprint like when Cass pulled him out of hell.
Misha nailed that last scene. it breaks my heart...hell it breaks my body and soul every time I watch it. and I've watched it a lot! to the point that I've memorized all the words and they haunt me till my last day.
Cas smiling while going ... I just can't. I still can't believe the "I Love You" I waited so long to hear, came up this way, and after 13 months I'm still in denial.
this episode really is DESPAIR...
that scene BROKE me!... sadly... i am broken AGAIN!
😢😘

Then the episode started and I kind of cried through the whole thing and I was like "Are they really going there? Seriously?" and they did. And then I started laughing in addition to the crying and I could. Not. Stop. The internet was going nuts. Yeah. Jensen's perfomance was so good. People who say that Dean didn't react or that Jensen's acting was bad.. I dk what show they watched. OMG! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Ugly face crying but that scene was amazing.
Well said!
@@The_Jupiter2_Mission nope. episode 20 is so good imo. And it is okay if you hate it because tv shows and movies are subjective
Ugh... can't wait for your reaction to the ending....
Dakara, what you might not remember from either earlier in this episode or from the episode before it, is that she included on her list of people to kill/eliminate/send back --
not only people of earth like Sam and Dean who had died and been resurrected multiple times,
but also all the refugees from the other worlds;
she would send the refugees back to world(s) that Chuck had recently destroyed (like during last episode or this).
People from earth who had been resurrected from hell or heaven or purgatory -- would have a place to return to.
The refugees (who had never died) would have no place to go.
I feel you about Death. I mean I saw Cas' confession a mile away (I was just shocked that the writers were allowed to do it) but the set-up for Billie as bad wasn't really well-made and not signaled at all.
how did you believe in death? he kept saying he wanted to kill Dean and Sam
I was always curious how you'd react to Castiels final scene. But I gotta say, I'm shocked. I thought that scene would annoy you
After over a decade of entertainment that these guys have brought to us to see certain groups in the fandom and even some outside of the fandom attack the actors on social media (after they delivered such a powerful scene) was more heart breaking than the actual episode.
Some people seem to be happiest creating discourse which I will never understand why they choose to spend their time in this way.
Castiel😭😭😭❤❤❤
I really hated Billie from the beginning. She had nothing redeeming about her as a character. The OG Death was great, and I just wish he wasn't replaced
Me too, he had that dark, mysterious vibe and Billie just feels different
@@dajtoad1 I'm not going to reply to much Everyone can have there own opinion or experience everyone's is deferent I said what I said and Stand by it That's Me, That being said Yes Writer's can be a pain👍 Have a good one.
@@ace360 I am also in agreeance with your opinion.
Bobby called it "the heaven you deserved."
The kicker, Bobby said, was that Jack (now god) created the new heaven with help from Cass.
Andrew dabb ripping off infinity war i guess
Dakara I’ve watched the whole sho already you will be amazed on what happens in the END 😏
Cas was so in love with Dean, it breaks my heart. Apparently this was cut. That scene. Jensen argued with the writers about it but they said he was "too close" and left dean's response out. It was mutual for Dean. My Destiel loves. ❤️
still can't believe that deancas is canon
DeanCas is CANON
FACTS
Canon as an unrequited love? Yeah, sure!
@@AndreaCanales25sorry to disappoint, canon as reciprocated
For me that scene wasn't Castiel and Dean... it was Misha and Jensen.
Farewell Destiel.
Dean and Castiel have an amazing FRIENDSHiP, since 5 season!
ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP you mean??
I am also more on the friendship train with their relationship, but if there are other interpretations, I don't mind. As long as everyone is respectful with each other and doesn't push his or her opinion on other people.
Oh, and don't you mean fourth season ? ;p
@@shaywhoop4040 I think when Cas became more human like and after he was human he had feelings because he knew love.
@@RB-km4om i like the family bond route and I wish sam was there to see Cas go, the way the writers treated that sucked
@@Davidscomix I like that route, too. They have been through so much, there is just a deep connection there (just, in my view not a romantic one). A scene with Sam and Cas would have been nice, but then again, it was only Cas and Dean at the beginning and the relationship between Cas and Sam developed a little later :)
Andrew dabb is the worst thing happened to supernatural and if only
Kripke finished the show
Kripke would've done a great job
Kripke liked the ending though.
@@RB-km4om he was probably sarcastic because he didn't care about supernatural as he had a lawsuit against warner brothers and Andrew Dabb in season 12 because they wanted to steal the show from him in 2017 . And second Dabb could've asked for help
@@bingewatcherfanatic996 The way Jensen talked about his exchange with Kripke, it didn't sound like he was sarcastic. And if that was 2017 they could have worked those issues out by now.
@@RB-km4om even Jensen himself hated the ending Kripke didn't seem to care anymore because if you watch seasons 7 - 11 kripke helped Sera Gamble and Jeremy Carver but didnt help Dabb
This totaly ruined the whole Series for me and castiel 😂🤦🏻♂️
Poor choise for an endin part 1.
Apparently, Misha 'confirmed' that Castiel was gay and actually in love with Dean. Personally, I don't care it doesn't matter if someone is gay, bi or straight. That's their choice. Super
As for me, I don't agree with it, truthfully, and if what Misha said is correct then my overall opinion on the series has been thrown into the air. If Castiel was a gay character and that had been known from the get go, that would be one thing...but waiting until the last episode he was in...to make it 'known', is pretty deceitful and low. And quite frankly, I can't and don't hold the series in as much respect as I once did
Literally how
Cas has been thirsting over Dean's dick since since season 4. You are blind.
