Thank you for supporting the locals in my hometown. The area you visited in this video transforms into a massive Sunday market starting from early morning until noon. Hope you have a chance to visit it.
Hey Thankyou so much we appreciate you 🙏 your hometown is incredible. Yes locals told us about this market! We will have to come back and visit! Have an amazing weekend
19:28 “สายบัว” (S̄āybạw) or lotus stems used for cooking. 23:30 the granny sells Thai chilies for 15 baht per “ขีด (keed)” or 1/10 of a kilo. One kilo has 10 “keed”. Thai words like tao-rai, sa-wad-dee, aroi-maak, or chok-dee can be said by itself, but it’s polite (good manners) to end the sentence with “KRUB” like Tao-rai-KRUB, sa-wad-dee KRUB, aroi-maak-KRUB or chok-dee-KRUB.
Durian is the most delicious fruit. Thank you for opening up have a unique smell There are some in other countries, but they are not as delicious and famous as durians in Thailand. Thank you for liking Thai fruits 🙏😘❤️
คุณต้องลองทุเรียนหมอนทอง เลือกทานแบบ กรอบนอก นุ่มข้างใน You must try the Monthong durian which is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, not very ripe. There are many varieties of durian. But the most popular is Morthong hope you will try again.
When having durian, it will warm your body so that Thai people will have it with mangosteen which will cool you down. Mangosteen is the Queen of fruit while durian is the King. 😊
I liked it when seeing your first reactions trying Durians...kinda made me smile along. It really seems you both have preference for many Thai exotic tastes, unlike most foreigners who get stuck with only a few well-known dishes. It makes the travelling experiences much more enjoyable, doesn't it? On side notes, Durians can heat up your body temperatures so avoid eating too much at once, in direct hot weather, or with alcohols...or simply eat mangosteens to cool down right after. Anyway, enjoy your roaming in southern parts of Thailand & stay safe! :)
Thank you for presenting Thailand. There are markets in Thailand in every province. It's a fresh market. Most of them open very early in the morning before dawn. Because it's fresh. Some markets will open in the evening. Housewives or shops would buy and cook food. If the province was large, there would be many markets. As for the southern or Malaysian cottage leaf, it is said to be a herb for treating flatulence and helping to drain the stomach.
Within 10 seconds at the local market you guys turn to be the major gossip topic🤣 You are very lucky to be in Thailand during Durian season! I spent a small fortune on Durians in Chinatown, Bangkok last year- worth every penny.

Hello Ellis, Peter here, I have been watching your videos for the last few weeks! Enjoy watching your videos, specially this one that you were enjoyed Durians! Most Farungs couldn’t eat them!! Both of you are extraordinary indeed! Hope to run into you sometime! Have a safe and wonderful journey! Boonarong (Peter)
OMG!! Auntie still put a lot of sweet condensed milk in Thai tea though she didn’t add sugar. It's good that you said “Mai Waan” or “Waan Noi” Now the government is campaigning for Thai people to stop eating too much sugar for good health. Foreigners used to complain about the sweetness of Thai desserts, which made them less popular, except for mango sticky rice and coconut milk ice cream. Anyone who love durian like me will wait for this season every year which full of the most delicious durians. Have you ever eaten a dessert of cooked durian? Its called "Durian Sticky Rice" or durian in coconut milk poured over sticky rice. Try it once and you might be addicted to it forever!😋
Chanthaburi is the province with the greatest fruit cultivation mainly durian (king of fruit), mangosteen (queen of fruit), rambutan and mango. Durian export to China valued over $1 billion yearly comes from this province. Normally, durian season in Chanthaburi begins in April with May as the months with the greatest output and its season ends in June. After June, durian from the South mainly Chumphorn begins to come into the market. However due to unusually early hot seaon in Thailand, durian ripes quicker this year, resulting in abundant harvest by the end of April and early May, making for cheaper price this year while the quality is very good. There are more than 100 durian species but the most enduring in the Thai market at present are: Mon Thong, Kan Yao, Chanee and Kadum. In recent decades, some exotic species are 2-3 times more expensive as they are local specific (GI) such as Long Lap Lae from Utaradit province and Phu Khao Fai = volcano (the plantation areas are around an ancient volcano) from Srisaket province. Some foreigners have first-time bad experience of this exotic fruit because they eat ripe/over-ripe durian with very strong odor. Such ripe/overripe durians can be stomached by those who have years of experience, thus can tolerate or familiar with such strong odor. For a newbie, it is recommended eating 50-60% ripe durian, the so-called Krob Nok, Num Nai (Outside crispy, Inside soft) as its odor is very mild.
Puangmanee durian tastes better than other durian varieties. If eating delicious durian, you should choose durian flesh that is ripe. not too soft not too hard.
What a charming town, friendly people, even you back home whenever you have time don't forget upload video 😅 want to see your town too. It's ok if you can't 🙏
Fully ripe durians are very sweet and quite soft and have a strong aroma. Some people like and some people don't. [I like crispy sweet]/I laughed when Ellis told her "low sweet" but she add sweet milk 4 teaspoon and she say this is no sweet becuase it's no sugar / When ordering a local drink Most drinks are sweet. You must say to the seller, "No sugar," when you don't sweeten. Next time, you try "Oliang" low sweet. / "ka-tom" it's used to be herbs and drugs Most people who eat will bring it to boil with water. They say that by working in the sun, you'll have more endurance, but you'll be more susceptible to the cold.
Congratulations on your liking of durian, it's the king of "Thai Fruits" but it's understandable that Europeans are not used to its smell and taste. So do not like this fruit. But you discovered, you opened your mind. You definitely won't miss the deliciousness, confirm! There are many varieties of Thai durian. Hope you learn to try other varieties of durian. Many foreigners get it wrong. I think that durian smells very bad, that's because the durian sold abroad is overripe. A good durian is a durian that isn't overripe. I want you to communicate let everyone know
