    Please click "...more / Show more" for links and more information. Visit www.horizonhobby.com/search?q=apprentice+stol&prefn1=skillLevel&prefv1=Level+1&srule=best-matches&sz=24 for more information on the Apprentice STOL S 700mm.
    For nearly two decades, multiple versions of the Apprentice have been the go-to “traditional” trainer of choice for many first-time RC pilots. The HobbyZone Apprentice STOL S 700mm has been scaled down from the incredibly popular Apprentice 1.5m and 1.2m models, yet has also been optimized to offer STOL capabilities similar to the best-selling E-flite Timber series models. Plus, it’s “ultra-micro” sized to be more affordable and convenient for more people to fly in more places and smaller spaces - from yards and parks to sports fields and beyond! The Apprentice STOL S 700mm is equipped with Horizon Hobby's exclusive and innovative SAFE technology that makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully. Beneath its durable exterior, there’s an efficient brushless motor along with a factory-installed ESC, receiver and servos. The RTF version also comes with everything else needed to fly in the box including a Spektrum battery, charger, and an SLT6 controller/transmitter equipped with a USB-C port for direct connection to a PC for easy plug-and-play use of the included trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator!

      It looks to me that the Sport Cub s2 will be replaced by this aircraft, I feel a little sorry for the little Cub...but this looks like a much better platform for learning

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@quilong We aren't planning for it to replace the Sport Cub S! Tens of thousands of people have learned to fly RC with that model over the last decade, and it's still a great option compared to this new Apprentice STOL S for some people. It's smaller, lighter and less expensive, and can be flown in even smaller spaces than the Apprentice STOL S...as long as there is little to no wind. But generally speaking we do expect many people who would have bought the Sport Cub, or even the AeroScout 1.1m, to buy this Apprentice STOL S instead -- and have even more success when learning to fly RC -- because it will be a better option for them overall!

    Wow, what a wonderful Aircraft, I still remember my childhood moments when I had my first plane, the T28 Micro Trojan, the beauty of the ship, the years improve and I am happy that future generations enjoy flying and having fun.

    I learned on the tiny yellow 3-channel champ from parkzone/horizon. Then went to a T-28 Trojan, this was before as3x too. This looks like such a nice trainer, the transmitter looks great too! 👍

    Looks great! I'm happy to see more options in the sub 250g category. Where I'm located in Canada there's basically nowhere I can fly my big planes legally at the moment so I keep busy with my fleet of UMX.
    I think a couple of these may find their way under the tree for my teens this Christmas so I can get them flying fixed wing and maybe doing some bush flights alongside my UMX TT Evo.

    For the SLT transmitter I remember Tower hobbies had a line of receivers and transmitters under this name. Does it still use DSMX? Or how does it work? Thanks !

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good questions! Spektrum SLT is similar to but not compatible with Tactic SLT (which Hobbico originally owned and is still sold through Tower while supplies last). That means the Spektrum SLT6 transmitter will only work with Spektrum SLT equipped receivers (not Tactic SLT receivers, and vice versa). BUT, the receiver in this Apprentice STOL S -- plus more of our ultra-micro/UMX models in the future -- is dual protocol so it works with both Spetkrum SLT and DSMX compatible transmitters! That means you can use almost any Spektrum DSMX equipped transmitter to fly this model, and in the future, you'll be able to use the SLT6 transmitter with other models too :) And for added reference from the information for this Apprentice:
      "This Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version includes a controller/transmitter equipped with Spektrum SLT 2.4GHz technology and everything else you need to fly including AA batteries for the transmitter, a rechargeable lithium polymer battery for the airplane, and a USB-C charger. That means there's nothing extra to buy so you can fly! The included transmitter can also be used with other ultra-micro/UMX (Ultra Micro eXtreme) Bind-N-Fly (BNF) RC aircraft equipped with dual-protocol receivers featuring SLT FHSS technology (future availability). Plus it can be used with the included trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator."

      @drewcarrigan4707 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree horizon used to make much more planes for people that already knew how to fly. All there planes now seem more leaned to beginners. A umx viper would be sick on 3s power too!!!

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@drewcarrigan4707 maybe you missed all the new models we've announced in just the last 6 months alone including the updated Viper 70mm, SR-71, Fusion 550 helicopter, updated P-47 1.2m, updated EC-1500, UMX Air Tractor, Twin Timber, UMX Turbo Timber Evolution, and even the Hangar 9 Aermacchi MB-339 turbine jet (th-cam.com/video/TpUHE9cP1Qg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qs7Ryxe5Cp7HUUUA )...none of which are "leaned to beginners"! And keep in mind we release nearly two dozen new airplanes each year from trainers to turbine jets, ultra micro/UMX to giant scale sized. Rather than complain about the ones YOU don't like (because thousands of people DO like the ones you don't!), you should keep that to yourself and wait a few weeks because the next one we announce could be EXACTLY what you want! Also, based on our recent R&D testing, 4S works even better than 3S for single motor/fan powered UMX EDF models ;)

      @@drewcarrigan4707 Nothing wrong with making a plane easy for some one to learn on and for a experienced flyer that same plane will be stress free fun flight.
