The physicality in this series mirrored what was seen in the 80s. Handcheck legal, bruising play implored, and the games felt meaningful like it was the finals in the first round. Loved it. I remember it well. Awesome download.
I love this era basketball. You have to be mentally and physically tough to win. If you weren’t you weren’t going to win. That is the other reason I have so much respect for Jordan. Intimidation has essentially been legislated out of all professional sports!
The kids today are more skilled, but they don't play hard like they did back in the day. You don't see the hustle passion and toughness that true fans of not just basketball- but sports- can appreciate
And nobody complained to the league during this series before and after just mutual respect by both teams unlike Chicago with Phil Jackson and jordan. Which is why bill laimbeer shook the Knicks hands after the series and this series got very contentious
This series isn't really the "passing of the torch" because New York wasn't able to duplicate Detroit's success via rugged, tough play. The Knicks only adopted the physical style of play, but not the success that comes with it.
That’s what made the Pistons unique; they had the defensive ruggedness AND offensive firepower with their backcourt of Thomas, Dumars, and Vinnie Johnson. The Knicks meanwhile replicated their defense but didn’t have any offense to supplement, relying too much on Starks for any offensive input.
Trading Xman and Jackson for Charles Smith and Doc Rivers was a bad move, McDaniels gave Pippen nightmares plus McDaniels wouldve helped Knicks against Rockets in 1994 finals.
Zeke with the clutch jumper to secure the victory. What a dog fight of a series. Classic east coast defenses clash to the amplified MSG crowd. Peak nba
Isiah wrist was dead by 93/94 I think he would have retired no matter what. However if he never had a wrist injury. I would loved to see him win a ring for Ewing as a Piston fan.
Being a Detroiter and born in 1989, knowing I was 2 going on 3 years old makes me smile and proud to have a rough team that everyone hated. Great feeling 😊
True, even Michael said on MJ Air Time, “we thought we could walk straight through New York.” Which tbh as a fan I thought to because they swept NY during the regular season, had not lost to them since early 1990 and had not lost to NY in Chicago since 87.
This channel is a basketball hidden gem

The intro to these games are magical they don't do that nowadays.
I love those old intros!
The last hurrah of the “Bad Boys”
Another great one in a great era.

The Garden was rocking! Doesn’t sound like that now :(
One last clutch playoff moment for Isiah Thomas
This series is what you get when football meets basketball.
More like football vs. Wrestling.
Basketbrawl
This is how the game should be played by grown men

Vinnie Johnson was money off the bench.

I thought this was their best team with Jackson and Gerald Wilkins. How did X only play 1 season with the Knicks
Amazing highlights!

Just imagine if Isiah Thomas went to the Knicks, Patrick Ewing would have had a championship.
94' They had a chance at Isiah but they got Derek Harper whom wound up being better for them.

@18:24 Patrick Ewing has to get tired of getting posterized and knocked to the floor😅
Dumars had 0 at the half. Finished with 20. He & Isiah, undeniably Clutch players.
Thx classic 🎉🎉
👍
This series wasn't for the faint of heart lol
When the NBA was a mans game
Bad Boys were done than
P.S.: NBA is going to reunite with NBC in 2025 thanks to a new broadcast deal

Nooo way are the kids today more skilled !!!
17:47 Marv Albert "Woah!" 🤣👌🙏
Don’t see too many of todays teams doing well against these defenses
1 request , from an original subscriber 😅- If you could post some games from the Knicks 98-99 finals run- you’d go from awesome to great 😜
Yeah hopefully I'll be able to get some 99 Knicks up at some point Joe!
Why was Wilkins taking the last shot
The knicks was mostly always one of the best teams for long time .....then a bump in the road.
Laimbeer so washed 😂
i dont think chicago knew what they was in for going against the knicks in the next round
I think it’s stating the obvious that they would eventually figure the Knicks out. Plus it helps to have 23....
@@HeathOverledger If Ewing is healthy game 7 history could be very different.
@@TTFMjock1. Ewing WAS healthy. 2. New York lost by 29.
Correction ,Ewing was not that healthy for most of the 1990,s but well enough to play .

BAD BOYS VS 「NEO」 BAD BOYS!!
