If you really want to maximize leveling, wait until the 6th of November when not only will you have the Winds of Winter 50% buff, but also the 18% WoW Anniversary Buff and the 10% Darkmoon Faire buff.
I leveled a rogue from 0-50 the last 2 days and the leveling process was really fun because of the new talent trees. You can now feel the progress much better again.
just getting talent points every level makes leveling alot more fun, ive leveled 3 characters to 50 so far.. ill finish them once the prepatch event starts and chromie time lets you level to 60 outside SL
Just disable all addons with a new expansion and enable it when you miss a feature. Sometimes you realize you don't need it or the functionality is already in another addon or you can replace it with a simple weak aura.
Just leveled a fury warrior to 60 and for the first time in forever I enjoyed leveling, every level felt rewarding getting that talent point and it was so fun to try out different builds. This prepatch gives me hope for DF!
For anyone having issues with the action bar 1 being super large and not being able to click the screen: if you have the addon fishing buddy it bugs the new UI. Don’t ask me why, but disabling it will fix the UI issue and allow you to click your screen again
Keep in mind the 50% XP buff from Winds of Wisdom is only Equal to a 25% decrease in required xp once it is nerfed. And for where the xp required is nerfed to around 50% would be essentially like a 100% buff now. Example if you need 300k xp to level now and a mob would normally give 2k xp/kill with the 50% buff from Winds that = 3k xp/kill. So 100 kills/level. Once the xp requirements are nerfed say at the 50% region that would mean now you only need 150k xp to level. So back to the 2k xp/kill = 75 kills/level.
Yeah, IIRC if you're looking for the optimal "least total time spent to level", you want to level to about 35 now, then wait for the required XP nerf (if my memory isn't failing me).
5:00 - With the new UI you can only save 10 trees for each toon. This means that 3 specs (open world/mythic/raid) for a class like druid is too many saved trees across the 4 specs.
It's very rewarding leveling up new characters atm. 1 talent each level feels really fun and exciting to place them I'm constantly trying different talent choices and really giving them all a go. logging in to an alt class I don't play often is kind of overwhelming at first, but I find the more I play the more everything starts to make sense. they just need to disable shadowlands powers ASAP
Hahhah yeah I am leveling my first ever druid and getting a new talent every 5 to ten minutes is almost a little anxiety inducing as there are so many abilities popping up in a really fast pace. :DDD
Yeah I was just thinking about the covenant powers and leggos and whatever that we still have that are going away. I haven't had a ton of time to play with all the new talents yet but I'm starting to get used to it, and I don't want to get used to having extra powers if we're losing them soon. I just want to get on with having a good understanding of how I'm going to play at my best. It's kind of impossible to do that right now. Edit: I'm still having fun though and really excited to see how everything settles!

I get overwhelmed too, and while I don't exactly hate looking through the tree I would prefer to just look at a guide and then set that "route" for my character to automatically unlock. I don't have much time to play and it eats away at a good chunk of my playtime to mess with all that stuff lol. Starting to just keep a screenshot of a recommended build that I leave pulled up on my second monitor lol.
I love the ability to change talents on the fly from anywhere! I keep thinking it's a mistake while it's the patch lol. Hopefully not and it stays this way forever. I LOVE that we have choice again :D Almost feels like the older days when we had choice. Love it!
There is a huge caveat to this. If certain abilities are on cooldown it won't let you swap specs. For instance. I couldn't switch from my single target frost spec to my AoE spec while cold snap was on cooldown.
Lucky you. I'm still in base gear and all the matches I had in the last 24 hours were with ppl with like 20k more health than I. I''m stuck at 2% saddle progress lol

Myself and a few friends are returning from Season 1 and it's actually difficult to find all the information of what we've missed since Nathria was the only content. I’ve been doing twisting corridors in torghast just cuz I never did it during the expansion after I burnt out. But I like this version where u can get a ton of anima powers. Also loving my talent trees as fire and kitty Druid. Can’t wait to see my pally and get ready for the dragonflight adventures. Since I haven't played since a month after sl launch, I'm just getting used to playing again doing the same thing you are just cuz it's fun! Plus I have a bunch of alts at 50, and 4 at 60. Plus a 60 boost from pre order, So I'm just checking out all my favorite specs and classes in torghast just relearning and having fun checking all the new trees!

The talent tree changes are overall a good thing, there are some normally core abilities now are in the talent tree so that is a minus - have to built points in order to get them back. Also some class talent trees have lynch pin spenders - an ability that does not fit your build or not wanted and now forced to spend on it to get to the better abilities below. Hopefully this will be fixed by Actiblizz later, not expecting them to make any changes prior to full release in November. Lots of graphical changes and updates so it is worth going on a tour to find all those big to little changes made. I have always appreciated the efforts by the Graphic and Sound teams with the really neat to amazing touches they add to an expansion. Here is to hoping for a good release with this expansion!
For the record, raited pvp does not give u the option to upgrade your gear. i just reached 2150 to test, and either it's bugged (like the rest of the game) or, the season is just closed.

I would love to work on my UI but every single time I switch toons it resets my UI even after saving it and the layout isn't even there so I have to completely redo it every single time I log on. It was a huge issue in beta for me for the past couple months and seems like blizzard doesn't care about fixing it even with all the reports
That would be some shit...for years people depended on addons to alter the default UI and after we get a nearly fully customizable UI without addons, people will want an addon to make it just the old default UI. Ha.

If you haven't see the update from Blizz on this, during these events if you watch wow streamers live on twitch you will be rewarded with toy a TCG mount and some more fun items. You can have the stream on a tab while playing but remember NOT to mute the stream in the video but mute the tab in browser.

Maybe you know how to fix it. In the new UI the selection bar for warlock demons and rogue poisons goes down from the action bar. How to make it go upwards? It is infuriating
Really? I haven't had any issues with that. If all your addons are disabled and you already cleared your 'WTF' and 'Interface' folders, then try setting a bar up above for dropdowns instead of at the bottom.
for the UI, I swapped to elvui a while back, but it was fully broken for me, so i tried to work with the the new edit mode, which sucked, so I had to get bartender... the edit mode sucks balls when it comes to action bar options, you can't change anchoring points so when setting up your bars on multiple rows you always get them to start the first slot at the bottom left and you can't change it. but I have an MMO mouse with sidebuttons and I like to set the bars up to be situated like my sidebuttons (3in a row, 4 rows, first slot anchored to top left slot. and set the bars next to each other so i can bind other bars to stuff like shift+'numbers' etc), which is simply impossible in the edit mode. and yes you can technically change the keybinds for the bar slots but that also screws up your buttons in vehicles. so yeah, either it's added to edit mode, or edit mode is fecken useless for me xP not saying that the prepatch content sucks or anything, Just saying that there's deffo some extra polish/QoL changes needed on some stuff

I didn't hear this news yet. thing is, I find it very hard to believe that this wasn't found in beta yet. should've been fixed before pre-patch landed IMO. ah well, let's just hope this 'slipped through the gaps' cause they were too busy improving other systems
@@curiousabout1 might be that you can rebind vehicle keys now. But you werent able to change those before. And vehicles use action bar 1, slots 1-6 by default (iirc). So if you bind slot 1 on action bar 1,to another key, then you'll be using that key for vehicles too. Seeing as how slots 1-6 would become keybound to keys 7 and up for me, that would put the controls for vehicles in a less accesible place. So without mods i'd have to pick either less intuitive placement of UI, or derpy vehicle controls (which is gonna influence dragonriding) Quick fix would be to change the anchor point for the bars, so you can adjust your bars better. Which isnt a possibility atm (maybe soon, hopefully) Whereas almost all other ui/actionbar mods ( e.g.: elvui, bartender,...) all have the option to do this (and much more) Tl;dr: this might not be an issue for you, but it is for me. And its a fairly simple addition they could make to improve on the new edit mode. (one that IMO shouldve been baseline anyways) ^^
I have a feeling you recorded this a few days ago as almost all the major addons are up to date as this video is live even most on the list you showed. But sound advice anyway.
biggest issue for: i still have no idea what class/spec to play, because it is not up to me - it's totally up to Blizzard and no, play what you like will not work playing since late Cata, i've seen Blizzard destroy my favorite specs in a blink of the eye, so with time got wiser - there is no shame playing FotM's i wish i knew what FotM would be in 10.0 at least in S1

I've been leveling an alt in WoD and you do level fast. Like 3 or more quests and you leveled. Applying talents every 15 mins or so.
Neymar pilot also falls down a lot and rolls around uncontrolably

Leveling Alts & crucially, farming replacements for the Legendaries & Gavel's is my plan currently. The Gavel won't work at Lvl 61.

The talent presets are limited to 10.
And you can go to the old UI. There is a toggle for Modern or Classic in the edit menu.

I realized that after I set up my talents, there was nothing new to do cept wait. No point to raid or m+ when the gear gets replaced soon.

how do i separate the action bar 1? it has like an up and a down set of buttons... like an a and a b for just one action bar. doesnt make sense

That would be some shit...for years people depended on addons to alter the default UI and after we get a nearly fully customizable UI without addons, people will want an addon to make it just the old default UI. Ha.

If you haven't see the update from Blizz on this, during these events if you watch wow streamers live on twitch you will be rewarded with toy a TCG mount and some more fun items. You can have the stream on a tab while playing but remember NOT to mute the stream in the video but mute the tab in browser.

actual answer -> literally nothing if you're competitive. youll experiment with the talents and learn all that stuff while you're leveling in dragonflight.

In the new UI the selection bar for warlock demons and rogue poisons goes down from the action bar. How to make it go upwards? It is infuriating
Really? I haven't had any issues with that. If all your addons are disabled and you already cleared your 'WTF' and 'Interface' folders, then try setting a bar up above for dropdowns instead of at the bottom.

for the UI, I swapped to elvui a while back, but it was fully broken for me, so i tried to work with the the new edit mode, which sucked, so I had to get bartender...
the edit mode sucks balls when it comes to action bar options, you can't change anchoring points so when setting up your bars on multiple rows you always get them to start the first slot at the bottom left and you can't change it.
but I have an MMO mouse with sidebuttons and I like to set the bars up to be situated like my sidebuttons (3in a row, 4 rows, first slot anchored to top left slot. and set the bars next to each other so i can bind other bars to stuff like shift+'numbers' etc), which is simply impossible in the edit mode. and yes you can technically change the keybinds for the bar slots but that also screws up your buttons in vehicles. so yeah, either it's added to edit mode, or edit mode is fecken useless for me xP
not saying that the prepatch content sucks or anything, Just saying that there's deffo some extra polish/QoL changes needed on some stuff
IIRC blizz have come out and said there are some issues with the new UI edit mode, and they are working on fixing them

thing is, I find it very hard to believe that this wasn't found in beta yet. should've been fixed before pre-patch landed IMO.
ah well, let's just hope this 'slipped through the gaps' cause they were too busy improving other systems
How does this matter tho when you can bind them to any key you want?
@@curiousabout1 might be that you can rebind vehicle keys now. But you werent able to change those before.
And vehicles use action bar 1, slots 1-6 by default (iirc). So if you bind slot 1 on action bar 1,to another key, then you'll be using that key for vehicles too.
Seeing as how slots 1-6 would become keybound to keys 7 and up for me, that would put the controls for vehicles in a less accesible place. So without mods i'd have to pick either less intuitive placement of UI, or derpy vehicle controls (which is gonna influence dragonriding)
Quick fix would be to change the anchor point for the bars, so you can adjust your bars better. Which isnt a possibility atm (maybe soon, hopefully)
Whereas almost all other ui/actionbar mods ( e.g.: elvui, bartender,...) all have the option to do this (and much more)
Tl;dr: this might not be an issue for you, but it is for me. And its a fairly simple addition they could make to improve on the new edit mode. (one that IMO shouldve been baseline anyways) ^^
