I was born and raised in Los Angeles and for me, if the house isn't craftsman or Spanish revival I wouldn't be interested in it.

This is a wonderful video and I’m happy that I’m able to see a home that Katherine Hepburn has lived in at one time or another. She was and still remains one of my favorite actors so this video is special and I thank you for your part in presenting it. Please note that the spelling of her name has been butchered terribly by the close captioning part of this video. It’s matters that the person, persons or technology that are responsible for the “CC are doing a horrible job when it comes to this aspect of your project and puts a damper on things.

Love the inside outside concept
It's amazing to me-I was always attracted to her even as a child. Her face like a piece of priceless art when I looked at her. If I would choose a dream home it would be very similar to this one. Beams, brick, shutters, indoor /outdoor fireplaces,cozy-so Katharine again a connection-I guess we liked many of the same elements in a home.

She lived in Turtle Bay, New York for more than 30 years. And she never gave up her Fenwick CT home---even after it was destroyed in a hurricane. She lived and died there. This place...well.....

Gorgeous home, inside and out and yes, cozy, but according to the late Kate, the Great's autobiography "All about Me" and the photos shown in the great book "The Private Life of Katharine Hepburn" she never owned property in L.A. or California! She said she "rented' a cottage type cozy two bedroom apt. on the grounds of her friend, director George Cukor's estate! The only home she really owned along with the Hepburn family summer home in Fenwick , CT was her townhouse on East 49th Street in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Manhattan's east side, midtown, not far from the UN building!
What a lovely home. I would be hard pressed to leave if I lived there. I think the only time she used this was for publicity pictures or for entertaining and not losing her privacy. Her home in NY was her real home.

I'm assuming that Boris Karloff was responsible for most of the outdoor landscaping - he did a lovely job and it has a nice informal ambience.
It would have been good to make clear that Hepburn never owned that house -- or any house -- in Los Angeles. She made her permanent home in New York City (Turtle Bay) and at her family home in Connecticut (where she died).
Hepburn rented this house early in her career - it was never a house she owned.
Question. Many celebrities of the past homes, Jimmy Stewart and Betty White come to mind as well as the residence of the Sharon Tate tragedy; have been demolished and replaced with outlandish places.
Is it possible to still acquire the building plans of these now gone residences? Might any of the viewers of your fine presentations know if the architectural firms sold the plans to a still existant firm or Los Angeles County Department of Building and Safety.
It would be a shame to learn these beautiful residences are gone completely forever.

I like the OUTSIDE much better than the inside. The interior was definitely "modernized" and looks too typical Southern California for someone from New England, with any kind of good taste, to enjoy. I'm sure when KH lived there, the interior was much more subdued and tasteful, not filled with all that modern junk!

I live in Southern California and I don't like some of the modern furniture or stuff they have out there. Not all of us here like it, but tbh, it all has to do with your own personal taste and as long as the person who lives there likes it that's all that matters because they're the ones that have to live there and see their furniture everyday.
Lovely photography of a lovely house BUT it's more real estate than Hepburn (or architectural) history. Countless errors errors like referencing "terra cotta tiles" while showing wood floors, or the living room's full-sized windows described as "clearstory", which they aren't ... Sloppy.

Love this place, it’s so staged, I would like to see it with the movie stars furniture.
It is very charming and impressive with the beautiful grounds. I'm sure it's been modernized some!! Love the beams!!! I Loved her acting and enthusiasm in everything she did!! One of a kind!! Last movie I saw her in was, On Golden Pond.. great movie!

I love her Cape Cod style house in CT, but this is the style we adore in SoCal. Like the bedroom that opens onto the petite patio, with a brick path out from there. ✨
