    It's fun watching your reactions because you give undivided attention to the music. Tool won't let you down on any song or any message. Most "rock" has outward expression of feeling, whereas, Tool seems to have an introspective expression to every song. Instead of jumping around the room you feel like meditating, yet sonically it's just as heavy and complex. Kinda cool how they pull that off.

    Watching your reaction on his epic scream, was priceless !! And that was Maynard back in the day . He no longer does the epic screams . Once in a while he will do a few old songs in concert . But mainly he is doing an insane falsetto voice in all three of his bands. A perfect Circle and Puscifer . He is the lyricist in all three bands . And I think his lyrics are pure genius. Love your reactions keep it up !! Another cool band , check out King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard , Motor Spirit, they made over 25 albums in 12 years , amazing talent.

    Dude, I've been watching your Tool reactions since the beginning and I know at first you weren't sure about this type of music, but after watching you dive in I would say you are 1000% ready for them. I love that you 'get' their song composition.
    Did you know that the drummer, guitarist and bassist write all the music completely then send it to the singer Maynard to add his lyrics. Its amazing and brilliant.
    You've got to check out Right in Two, H (about the birth of his son), parabol/parabola and dont miss Pneuma drum cam - you'll dig it.
    Couple of recommendations (not as heavy as this)

This album helped me get through some of my worst moments in Life so far. 😅 gained alot of self assurance in trusting the unknown with a possitive attitude of possibility. The most confusing part you probably hear is that you want to vibe to it but literally the song has a representation. That’s why at the end when they slow down and say “choose to let this go” it actually represents the point in the song where the narrator choose to end the grudge. You really have to think deep with tool!!!! ❤️ Love your reactions bro and keep it up!!!

    The Saturn line is open to interpretation. The explanation I like refers to Roman mythology.
    Saturn was the Roman version of the Greek God Cronos, who had ten children. An oracle told him that one of his children would grow up to overthrow him and he begins to eat his children to stop this from happening. One of his children, Jupiter (Zeus), was aided by Saturn's wife and replaced with a stone before he was eaten. He eventually goes on to overthrow his father Saturn. The "choose one or ten line" could refer to Saturn choosing himself over his children which led to his own destruction.

    • @Gothhippie667

      Saturn also plays into 10,000 Days...
      Saturn's orbit takes 10,765 days, give or take..
      Sue me for being off a few
      30 years, give or take.
      Bad things happen when Saturn ascends, if you believe in astrology.
      His mom suffered a paralyzing stroke when he was 11 years old. She lived almost 30 years after that. Almost 10,000 days.
      Give or take. It fits the meter.

    Don’t listen to the haters. Gawd, how I hate it when people bitch about pausing. If I want to hear the song uninterrupted, there are plenty of ways I can do that. A reaction channel is the last place I should be for that, right?
    AND… it actually bugs me when someone blows thru the whole thing with no reaction. Pausing (and then rewinding after) shows that you’re truly enthusiastic and/or that you care enough to catch something you missed. Period. You do you, dude. You are rockin these reactions… and breaking down Maynard’s lyrics damn well.

    Bro, love your energy and willingness to really break down the lyrics. It tells me that you have an open mind and strive for a deeper understanding of things you aren't familiar with. More people should be that way. One thing I want to say is this: Bro, it's okay if you want to talk over the song instead of pausing it, especially if it's just a little comment that pops into your head. Most, if not all, of us watching your reactions have heard these songs before. A lot of us have heard them countless times, so you talking over it isn't as big of a deal as pausing it. That totally kills the vibe, which, as in Tool songs especially, is a huge part of the experience. We understand you have to pause it at some point and that, with Tool, it can be difficult to know at what point it's ok to do so, but in the middle of a scream.......c'mon, bro. I know you're just excited, but as someone who enjoys your reactions, could you do me a favor and work on it? Thanks. Keep going, my guy. It's waiting for you.

    The describing word for them is progressive. They're famous for their many transitions throughout their songs, and it's fun for those of us that know to watch someone hearing them for the first time not knowing those transitions are coming.

    Tool's whole discography is a journey. It honestly doesn't HAVE to be listened in order or anything, but you will probably notice a trend in their earlier work to be more angry and fuck the world style, and the later stuff is more reflective of the journey they've been on for over 30 years. Glad you're enjoying it. Just keep that in mind when you're reacting and when they were released and it'll all make sense the further along you go down the spiral. Cheers.p

    • @jimbojones8978
      @jimbojones8978 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad you're picking up on the lyrics being so important and awesome within Tool. Maynard is a modern day poet. Enjoy the ride young man. (even talking so casually about how the music is fire and that it goes without saying... ) Feels familiar. haha.

    • @jimbojones8978
      @jimbojones8978 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tool definitely structures a lot of their stuff as a whole musical composition, there are peaks and valleys and sometimes instrumentals, but they always bring it back and leave you wanting more. imho.
      Don't worry about 'screwing up' on pausing, we know you have to do that. Mistakes are made. Honestly just so happy you're both enjoying it and understanding it. Hearing you talk about 'how are they gonna bring it down like that' knowing that huge scream is coming, brings that foreshadowing feeling within me that I truly love experiencing vicariously through these reacts. Yours and others. Keep goin!

    There are several things to the Saturn part in the song. First and one he's probably alluding to is in astrology. Saturn has an effect on your life due to its orbit around The Sun. Saturn has a 27-year orbit around the Sun. Therefore, by the time Saturn comes around again, you should have your life figured out because you're in your late twenties at this point. And secondly, the one I like the best is that 27 years is about 10,000 days. The period of time his mother was in a incapacitated state... Edit I had to come back into this and tell you that comment about the music music being bipolar had me rolling, That's the best description I've ever heard😂

  • @Sky14318
    @Sky14318 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Also, Tool rarely (if ever) has traditional solos like verse, chorus, verse bands. So don’t try too hard to figure it out. The running “joke” is that Tool is the only band where all members have solos but they are all played at the same time and throughout the entire song. 😆
    Just pause when you feel like it or need to. Your channel, your way. Just always click back a sec afterwards… which you seem to do. Perfect.

  • @l3ul2t
    @l3ul2t หลายเดือนก่อน

    Saturn is known as the guardian of the threshold. A symbol of climatic change, transformation, challenge and calamity. Saturn oversees periods of great choice and growth, an anomaly of chaotic energy that alters.
    When faced with both; a Grudge and the ascendency of Saturn (a situation that requires an emotional response), he weights two choices.
    Kether (1) The path of forgiveness is also the sphere that contains all that was, is, or will be. It is the First Emanation and the sphere of pure spiritual being, the point of absolute Unity without division.
    Malkuth (10) The path of division, is the final receptacle for the combined energies of the Tree of Life. Where the other spheres are basically kinetic and mobile, Malkuth is stable and inert, and unlike the other sephira, it is not part of a triad. Malkuth is the Physical World around us, the Creation of the Divine.
    To choose 10 is to hang on to your grudge and remain finite, and to choose one is to allow yourself to be humbled and embrace the collective without ego.

    13:44. It’s hilarious that you understand that there is comments trying to get you to not pause during a drum solo or a guitar solo, and you saying that you can’t comprehend if the drums are going crazy, or the guitar is doing different things, then you go and pause in the middle of a scream. I’m pretty sure you know what a scream is. I’ve had enough, good luck!🌿🌸

    TOOL is just different. Self-indulgent? Yes. But they force you to stew in them juicy musical juices before the lyrical messages hit. It's not easy listening. It's not about club bangers. It's about closing your eyes and farting into your couch as you absorb the existential vibe. Also, TOOL fandom is a bit of a cult, so... Be prepared to become obnoxious.
