You should mix up the skins you use instead of using one skin for all of your units. And if you can you should control the giant more often so that you can use the earthquake ability which helps out a bunch.

I completed this mission at hard difficulty through swordswrath only. My swordswrath had vampire skin. It surprisingly worked.

He really isn't. He overly relies on spearton which are trash and ignores swordwrath which are by far the best unit in the game.
