  • On our third day with no power, so what do we do? In a suburban setting, it is important to be prepared for grid-down conditions. I cover safe drinking water and solar power, with a touch on cooking with no power. Following Hurricane Milton, we were without power for five days. This gave me a chance to see how my Jackery 300 Explorer would do when it came to powering personal devices such as phones, tablets, and lights (it did great!). I used a 120 watt solar panel to charge the Jackery, and was able to simultaneously charge all the other things. While we had running water, I wanted to cover some prep tips for safe drinking water.
