@@scottb3034IMO ALL of the MCU movies were received almost the same. GoG had an entire community on its own, till this day.
It’s kinda weird but also justified because they do whole different stuff from what we got with the main MCU movies.
However it’s only based on my own observation from the years these movies got released. Civil war was probably the worst out of all, I don’t remember why but many many people were pissed about that movie.
(I’d love it if someone enlightens me, if it was off-comic stuff or just the dark plot of the movie itself)
Out of all movies, Cap always gotten me. I wished for his character to receive more movies than they actually did but well, those actors aged past their primes with this universe after all. (Especially Downey Jr.)

    • @scottb3034
      @scottb3034 ปีที่แล้ว

@@OrdinaryApprentice99 Eh, for the most part they were received the same in that none were considered complete disasters and bombed critically but there were definite levels to the reception and popularity. GOTG was much more warmly received and popular at release and while still maintaining a strong fanbase eventually fell behind the maturation concerning Winter Soldier.
That said, there is absolutely no way the reception for Incredible Hulk was the same as Black Panther or Doctor Strange to Infinity War.
I don't recall much hatred for Civil War in my opinion. Seemed to be liked a lot itself with the main gripes being it seemed like really an Avengers movie instead of a personal cap story and that cap came out seeming like a bad guy (in some circles). There were also some comic die-hards bitter that it didn't follow the comic story well....if at all but that was a minority. Civil War was treated on par with Iron Man, Winter Soldier, GOTG and Avengers from day 1 (which were the 4 best received movies at the time of its release).
I myself wished for one last PERSONAL cap story to give him a true trilogy but am ultimately fine with what I got. Endgame sort of became HIS movie more than any other avenger anyway.

In case anyone is confused with the whole USB thing. Fury was wondering why Shield agents went to the ship, so he sent the pirates to try and stop them. Then sends Nat on a secret mission to back up all the files. When he tried to access the files it shows that it has been encrypted and locked out. On Fury's authority, Fury has the highest clearance and if anyone else tried to access the files it would get locked out. This proves to Fury that those Shield agents on the ship were up to no good. Fury uses his damaged eye as the password to create the encryption. He asks Pierce to hold off on the Insight launch to investigate whats going on. But i think this makes Pierce realise that Fury is onto him.

13:12 The song Nick Fury has playing on the stereo when Cap comes into his apartment is “It's Been A Long, Long Time” by Harry James. This was a Big Band era tune that went to number 1 on the US charts after its release in October of 1945, shortly after the end of World War 2. It was one of my grandmother's (born 1929) favorite songs. There's a call back to it at the end of Avengers: Endgame. MCU Cap was born on July 4th (of course), 1918, so pretty much in my grandmother's generation.
However, MCU Cap went into the ice on February 5th, 1945... 8 months before this song was released... so... either this is a minor continuity error... or Cap started buying and listening to late 40s records after we woke up to see what he had missed out on when he was frozen.

It was super well done there too.

While not commented often, if you noticed, they worked on Captain America's fighting abilities. In the first movie, he's skilled, but he's pretty much just a boxer / brawler. When Captain America chooses to work with SHIELD, they train him extensively in martial arts. It's not an accident. It's to show that Steve Rogers / Captain America DOES grow. Too many people think he's a static character. He's not. He's a strong character with a strong moral center. He is the definition of having the wisdom to know when to change, but also when to stand firm.
If I may point out a few other notes, if you recall in Avengers, Steve Rogers begrudgingly took a bit of Tony Stark's advice and snuck through the Helicarrier to find proof SHIELD was hiding things. Granted, it turned out to be less duplicitous than feared. In short, SHIELD was gearing up for a war from interstellar invaders they knew would come. It could also be pointed out Steve Rogers did some of his own research and still showed a fair level of independence in "The First Avenger," but that would detract from the point I'm making ("Thank you, sir, but I've made my OWN team.") Steve can be naïve, but it's not foolish. Even after the events of Avengers, he decided SHIELD was the best option for his life at that point. When evidence came out that SHIELD was corrupted from the inside, he affirmed it all had to be flushed away, from the inside out, even if that meant closing SHIELD.
Another note is that, no, Steve Rogers does not need to keep exercising, but he's still mortal, so he keeps training. You see, the fact is Captain America's "superpower" is that the serum turned his body into the peak of what a human being could be naturally. Think about it. The fact is a human body is rather incredible. Especially when you factor in adrenaline, humans can be fast, agile, and strong. Able to run speeds over 30 mph (It was clocked once, but only for 7 seconds), able to lift thousands of pounds, and able to spring about so efficiently. Combine that "perfect human body" with a sharp mind, a keen tactical ability, and a nearly unbreakable morality ... and of course his legendary shield ... well, you get the idea.
That's why a lot of people don't understand Steve Rogers / Captain America, and those who do understand him admire the character a lot. Yes, I'm in the second category. But then, I just like well-written characters of any sort.

Before this I really never bought Chris Evans in the role of Captain America even after two movies. While RDJ and Hemsworth got it in one for their roles as Tony Stark and Thor. Evans really didn’t stand out as the character until this film. When the gives ‘the price of freedom’ speech it always gives me chills as it really shows who Steve Rogers is at his core and now I cannot see anyone else as Steve besides Evans.
Plot was a lot different than most as the twists and curveballs threw you for a loop and that was the point. Unless you were a diehard comic fan many of the shocks came as a surprise. Shield being secretly Hydra and subtly influencing events for almost a century their top assassin the Winter Soldier being Steve’s long lost best friend and it really highlights Steve’s morals his black and white view doesn’t fit well in a modern day gray world. But he still will not waiver if it means doing the right thing. Even it it means destroying the organization that Peggy helped build to stop the bad guys he will do it. If it means he can help Bucky remember who he is Steve is willing to die for his friend. The movie may be called ‘Captain America’ but we got to see who the character is not as the living legend but as a kid from Brooklyn who never backed down to do the right thing.
Also introduced Sam Wilson AKA the Falcon. Sam really served as the everyman character a grounding force to help Steve adapt to the present day. Their initial meeting the way Sam spoke to Steve not as a fan to a superhero but as a person had weight. While the Avengers are important to him they feel more like coworkers they look to Steve as a leader and as an icon. Sam just sees a fellow soldier he’s truly the first real friend Steve made since he came from the ice.

The thing you guys should remember is Cap's shield is made of vibranium, which is supposed to absorb vibrations, impacts, sounds, as well as weapons fire. So diving out of an airplane with out a chute, or crashing through a window out of an elevator is nothing when you have a vibranium pillow to absorb the impact of a fall.
Part of a running theme with Cap, especially in the comics, is his ability to throw his shield and make it ricochet many times and always with precision. That's why he takes out multiple people at once with it just by throwing it at the right angle to a wall or object so that it'll hit. It's kind of a side-power but also not.
Arnim Zola, in the comics was basically an android body, like a pro wrestler, but no head, just a camera, with a TV screen in his gut that showed his face. In the movies, it's a bit different since the imagery would be kinda goofy. Also, you might want to delete everything Google, Apple, and everything else on the internet knows about you if you don't want what happens in this movie to be a potentiality to you! LOL!
One of Black Widow's weapons of choice is called The Widow's Bite, which basically shocks you like a taser. At least in the movies. In the comics, it has been a wrist mounted gauntlet that shoots projectiles to paralyze people, as well as do other things. She was a child during WWII, so she ages slowly, and she's durable to the degree it is like Captain America. In fact, she is another person who has a variant of the super-soldier serum flowing through her veins, y'know, because everyone has to get super steroids or something.
Falcon was Captain America's "sidekick" after Bucky. They had a long running comic in the 70s that featured the two. Also, Falcon had a sidekick named Redwing, but I dunno if birds can really be sidekicks or pets.
Rumlow is the Cap villain "Crossbones". He's a poop.
Oh, and one last fact: That neighbor chick, Sharon Carter, she's Peggy's grand-niece. Cap likes to keep it in their family.
No spoiler, but if you liked this movie, you'll LOVE Captain America: Civil War more. I think of all the MCU, the Captain America movies are the best of them.

Movie shield is vibranium but that's due to the other metal in it being tied up with a other movie franchise about gifted children. Comics shield is a vibranium proto-adamantium composite. Vibranium can absorb impacts/kinetic energy so if it was purely that, it'd hit a wall and fall down. The edge is proto-adamantium which gives it the strength to bounce off walls, rocks, cars, etc and not deform and still keep on going. That hardness also allows Cap to use it to break chains, locks etc.

I really enjoyed watching ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ with you guys😆🔥. It’s one of my favorite MCU movies alongside Black Panther, Thor Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame. I loved the storyline and the way S.H.I.E.L.D was exposed as it was taken over by Hydra, that storyline was so well done. I loved the Winter Soldier’s costume and he really did match Captain America. The whole cast was amazing. Loved your reaction, take care and have a good one❤️😁

What’s still odd to me is that Clint Barton/Hawkeye is also a SHIELD agent yet he wasn’t directly involved with this film.
Agents of SHIELD Season 1 Episode 17 happens alongside the events of this movie. This is when more people started investing in the show.
One of the best things is all the crazy action - from the hand-to-hand combat to the gunfire, and it’s all welded with the music and the tension.
In fact, the elevator fight was the first thing they filmed. They practiced the fight choreography for several weeks prior to filming. It was that difficult but also well worth it.
One of my favorite things about this movie was Steve refusing to give up on Bucky. He’s the only one who believes in his long time friend.
Get to know Sam Wilson/The Falcon. His dynamic with Steve is also another cool part of this film.

@@RM-qj8cs I don't know why people say stuff like that in this way. It is true that from the main MCU creator's perspective the show is not considered part of their canon. So not all events especially in later seasons really line up with the world as it gets established in the movies any more. But to say it "has nothing to do with" it seems pretty stupid, because not only are there several character overlaps, but at least for a couple seasons it really ties in perfectly with main events from MCU history, directly referencing and even showing scenes and providing stories that could have been going on in the background of what you saw in the cinema.

As I've probably said before, some of them weren't too shocking for those of us with a bit of comic book savvy. I knew the name Sam Wilson from the source material, and the identity of the Winter Soldier, so I had a sense of what was coming from them. But Black Widow's big moment in the SHIELD boardroom caught even me off guard. And your reaction to it all was so whole-hearted and refreshing, I loved it! Very much looking forward to your next MCU video.

Cap's shield is awesome! It's a defensive and offensive item, and it absorbs kinetic energy, which is why he survived the fall from the elevator without injuries and from the car without road-rash. I've read that the Winter Soldier theme contains Bucky's scream (from the train?) in it. Yeah, Hydra did Bucky so very dirty. The MCU movies cover all kinds of genres. This one is like an old-fashioned spy thriller. The Winter Soldier will return after Age of Ultron.

Captain America is the best tactician (Black Panther is the big picture strategy guy), and a natural leader.
If you pair Steve Rogers or T'Challa with even one more hero, they become a lot more effective because of their leadership.
Sam Wilson is not the first Black superhero, but he was the first one I encountered as a child, so he will always have a special place in my heart. Anyway, the original story function of Falcon was to introduce the topic of racism to Captain America stories. Sadly, they never did that with the MCU version until the TV show.
And boy did they make up for lost time in that TV show. I loved it, because it felt like I was finally getting the real version of Sam Wilson.
I love the platonic friendships between Natasha and Clint, and Natasha and Steve.

This reaction/review reminds me why this remains one of the top MCU movies for me.
The MCU used to be able to pull of some crazy cool stuff. This movie had some crazy stuff, but it didn't go any further than it needed to. You could feel the tension in moments like Fury being targeted in that chase. Back when Fury was cool and an incredible spy. The idea that someone was ahead of Fury and able to take him out like that...had weight to it. The journey for Captain America was incredible and really set him up for the remainder of his time in the MCU.
Even Black Widow was so much better here than in her solo movie. They knew what her limits were as an actual human and worked within it. The Winter Soldier was a terrifying threat for her and she did everything she could within her limits. Like was said here. She was the definition of badass. Attractive, badass, and extremely skilled. Full package right there.
This is peak MCU right here. Where Steve did everything he could to save lives and then was unwilling to hurt his friend any further. Got through to him by being a good person.

Captain America, next to Spider-man has always been my favorite Marvel hero. His comics to me? were always next level. With conspiracies, every villain hating him cuz he's so clean cut. plp don't realize he's a super soldier. The serum increased everything he can do. Not only his strength, but his speed, his stamina, his tolerance to pain, his recovery rate ( from a bullet, stab wound, etc.) his ability to hold complicated possibility factors ( like when he learns to bounce his shield on surfaces taking into account his shield wt. and what type of material it bounces off of say concrete, steel, wood ( it's why the falcon or anyone else without the serum can't pull it off)) It also raises his intelligence level. It's why he can use advance psychology to factor who he interacts with, who he can trust. He's very smart. Not Stark level, but if Stark had the super serum? whose to say what he can do

St-Pierre retired on an insane streak of title defences for his UFC Welterweight belt, then returned 4 years later to move up a weight class and win the UFC Middleweight title before retiring again.
Georges was unreal in his prime, and was known for his karate influences on his style that made him unpredictable, as well as his perfection in gameplanning and technique across the board.
