- A sightly unusual condensed highlights reel. For this round, we show Karl breaking his own personal best start with 5 straight Birdies.
Despite being the youngest player on the field, Karl made the Cut and sits in a Tie for 30th and 7 shots off the lead. With 2 rounds left, Karl's going to be giving his all over the weekend.

It’s always good to come revisit this classic from time to time
And to think that Karl played that course in even Par from the White Men's Member's Tees in an annual Junior tournament when he was just 10 years old. I actually video'd the round, but that portable hard-drive crashed. I recently bought a recovery drive to see if we can resurrect that round.

Been watching a few of your videos for a while now Karl - I've been hugely impressed with your short to mid iron accuracy since you were young - from inside 120 yards you are lethal - a certain world number one has very similar traits! Keep at it bud!

Absolutely fantastic stretch of golf. I've played for 10 years myself, and am a 3 handicap. Amazing shot control, clearly knew the golf course from tee to green extremely well, and had an unbelievable amount of confidence over each shot, especially on the greens. Always enjoy watching your videos!
Yes, Karl did know the course well as he'd shot even Par there in a junior tournament there when he was 11 and didn't win because it was a handicap based tournament.Karl's handicap at the time was already either scratch or close to it, so shooting Par off the stick couldn't beat someone shooting 80 who was off 14.
Dang, Karl! You're a boss. Coming a long way from when I discovered you. You were hitting fairway woods into greens on most approaches, and you still rocked, lol. Best wishes man!

Oh, we have done that. Look back to the 2014 Junior Worlds and you'll a video on his "Putting woes" there at th-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=pOd41FdvZoE . He did end up winning, but it should have been by a much bigger margin due to all his missed putts.
We've also done a funny parody of a Taylormade ad showing some embarrassing moments which we're reloading today.

+MrGotsGots Thanks. It's also why Karl didn't have a Caddie, as I believe that a player learns faster when he has to think it through by himself. If we were purely after a high finish, we'd have gotten Karl a Caddie, but we're always thinking of the long term view.

The old man was out of breath on that long par 5 but not surprising with how far he has to run to get in position to film his son at work. Karl is a future star and his Dad is the best golf cameraman on TH-cam, frankly, you both put the other golf youtubers in the shade. Congrats and continued success.

THis video was filmed in Australia in the week before Karl left for the US. That Camera is a Sony FDR Ax 33 with Image Stabilization. It's the image stabilizer which is the key to shooting video which isn't jumping all over the place.

Nice playing Karl i like to watch the vids.Got a question how do you control your pitching distance control.Do you use like the clock system or do u just try and feel the distance and visualize the Flight?
+Christopher Langeveldt Such a good question. Karl uses feel with his shots. He needs to know the exact yardage and will then dial in the swing accordingly.

Watched this for inspiration before my golf match today at Katke Golf course in Bi Rapids Michigan. Shot an 18 hole total of 77. Best round by 12 strokes

Riversdale is near the Melbourne Sandbelt. What differentiates Riversdale is that it is quite hilly compared to the Sandbelt course. Karl would love to play Stanford some day.

That golf course looks NUTS! So much stuff going on.
+hustlr23 The Greens will do your brain in. Not just Karl, but we also saw some of the world's top 100 amateurs see their approach shots get rejected back off of the Greens. The Greens were so fast, that the slightest of slopes could see an approach shot which lands 6 feet from the hole but a yard off your target end up 50 yards down the hill. I think we got a shot of Karl's which was similar where it looked like a great approach and then spun back off the Green. This course sorts out the very best players and saw Karl finish ahead of national squad players.

+Jason “Jason Anthony” Mayes Karl played without a caddie whilst the national squad players all had professionals as caddies on their bags. Considering that Karl is (firstly) the youngest player in the field and that (secondly) he played without a caddie and yet finished better than some of those guys, he did an amazing job. Most of those guys do actually have a lot of respect for Karl as he's been around for a long time. He became the youngest player ever to play Division 1 Pennants here when he was just 9 years old and halved that match against a 19-year-old. It put everyone on notice back then that he has the ability to not get intimidated playing against guys much older than himself.
