    Great video dude. I’m getting one of these next week hopefully. You made my mind up thanks. I don’t need a 3rd deck as it would only be for looping or holding vocals. The DJS 1000 does it all and so much more!

    Excellent video! Could you please let me know your connection set up from the mixer to the DJS and the CDJ?

      @@InTheStudioLive so, it goes send/return mixer to DJS, and then Mixer to DJS line input?

    Thanks for the tutorial, Man. I think I might get one to go with my Denon SC5000. I will get one today if my local guitar center had them in stock.

      I love the SC5000s. My only complaint is the engine prime software for preparing your music to play from flash drives. The denon engine prime software is no way as good as rekordbox. The good news is the update firmware for the sc5000, allow the player to read rekordbox data and convert for engine prime. I love the everything on the denon x1800 mixer also, except some of the effects sound weak.

      @Heavie486 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't sell anything until you get the units in you hand and see if the sc5000 serve all your interest and satisfaction. The denon decks are great but the weakness is being under inmusic, in my opinion. Pioneer as a company perhaps can improve in ways. But at least they have only pioneer gear to support. Inmusic has 15 brands under there belt and some of them like, denon and rane had very good reputation for being very good gear with costumers support. I think inmusic may be over there head at trying to keep the reputation of those brands. Just a shame if rane in the djs mind, becomes to the same level of a company, like gemini in quality and support.

    Thank you for the tutorial. What are the settings/configuration/setup used on the Pioneer DJM 900 Nexus 2 when using a CDJ 2000 Nexus 2 through the DJM with the send and return feature?

      In The Studio Live Thank you very much for the detailed instructions. For some reason I have been having issues getting it to work. I’ll try it tonight. Thank you again. The cables are regular 1/4 inch TRS patch cables correct?

      In The Studio Live That would be great, thank you very much. I’m trying to hook up the DJS 1000 to a two - CDJ 2000 Nexus 2 and DJM 900 Nexus 2 setup. I’m using two stripe 1/4 cables. Im running the Out of the mixer into the In of the DJS. The Out of the DJS into the In of the mixer. I’m also running the RCA out into channel 4 in the mixer.

      In The Studio Live Thank you brother. I sincerely appreciate it. Just looked at the setup again, it seems that their is no sound going in. The In volume on the DJS is at half and then full but the “VU” meter for In is not showing any sound. Peace brother.

    Just sorted it all out thanks so much for your help bro much appreciated....... do you find when you sample and then add your beats from sample packs they are very slight out of sync ..... so sample on pad 1 and then different beats on other pads?

    I'm a student in my late 40's still in learning about everything I can about Dj'ing since I was 14. That sucks your far away, but if I ever make it to Chi town. Are you willing to teach a curious cat some new tricks on these awesome machines?

    • @manuelnavarro7539
      @manuelnavarro7539 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm a bit old school self taught. 2 SL-1200's, 2 CDJ-2000, DDJ-S1, 2 CDJ-500, and Pioneer DJM-800. But I've never done anything that you just demonstrated. I want to get that DJS-1000, but sometimes it's easier for me to learn when someone is there next to me that knows. I easily get confused with the videos because I can't ask real time questions.

    Great videos thanks, I’ve just taken delivery of my DJS, 1 question though. How I cant get live sampling to work from CDJ 2000nxs2, are there separate cables you need to buy and use (would also be good to know how to sample from a technics 1200 deck)? I have a djm 900 Nxs2 mixer. What connections on the DJS and mixer would I have to use ? Input to send on mixer ..... appreciate your help thanks again!

    Hi, do you know if it's possible to live sample directly from a xdj/cdj using sync and without a mixer? I'm guessing using Prolink and audio cables as I'm thinking more along the lines of production

    • @Jiglo71
      @Jiglo71 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@InTheStudioLive Thank you for your reply and video. I've been holding off from buying a XDJ 1000 mk2 to accompany my DJS because I dont understand the prolink ecosystem and being a vinyl dj with a S9 mixer, waiting for bpms to register to live sample takes longer than I would like. It's fine from vinyl as there's no other way around it, but using digital files with instant bpm would make live remixing and production a lot more instant and fun. I guess I need to ask Pioneer directly. Thanks again

    So if using real instruments running through a mixer, can you multitrack on the pads? If I record a drum track can I record bass and guitar and vocals on the other pads while hearing the drums play back?

    • @thelantern9075
      @thelantern9075 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In The Studio Live OK, good. So you can basically record 16 stereo audio parts on the 16 pads as tracks, but just one track at a time. Can each track be up to 64 seconds or is it a total of 64 seconds between the 16? Thanks for the info. How are you enjoying working with this machine?

    Hey man can you do a review between the SP-16 and the DJS-1000 and the new 1.4 update on the SP-16? Can you also show the speed pitch fader function? thanks

      The sp16 has analog drive/filter which sounds AMAZING, but the form factor is less ideal next to CDJs. The DJS-1000 lacks any analog warmth, has the superior form factor & allows you to use the slider to adjust tempo like a CDJ. If you could combine the two, I would be in heaven. So do you prefer/need the form factor and pitch control at your fingers, or the analog heat/filters?

    Hi there, thanks for the advice...... put the 1/4 TRS cable in both send on 900nxs2 and both input slots on DJS, still not working !! Do I need to do anything on any settings? My RCA are going are going into line on channel 2

      Output from DJS to Line in channel mixer and Send from mixer to DJS Input,,if you use the DJM mixer then what ever channel you set the mixer to it will sample from that channel and if you choose master it will sample all channels

    Hi when sampling manually (not using the set beat function) how long can samples be?
    Would like to grab 32 / 64 / 128 beats
    This could be a deal breaker for me, I want to get loops from tracks (live and/or recorded) to layer up in my sets, could do it with extra cdjs but would like to look at alternatives, could this be it?

    • @MrEdtangent
      @MrEdtangent 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, does the manual loop still use the quantize function, or it it reliant on perfect timing when hitting the in/out?

  • @MrFullyCharged

    My only complaint - the recording cannot start on a grid (quantized) so you must tap on the drop to loop properly. This means you cannot be involved in other tweaks. Huge gap there, pioneer :/

      cool, would i just need an ethernet hub, for 2 xdj1000mk2'a, DJM900NXS, and DJS1000? then the sync buttons will talk to eachother, no rekordbox needed?

    • @MrFullyCharged
      @MrFullyCharged ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This has a pitch/tempo slider just like the cdj & it has a nudge button set, so you can easily keep it matched.

      @@MrFullyCharged thanks man, wow this comment was 5 whole years ago, appreciate the reply though. I already went through with buying one, learned it, sold it. I discovered Elektron gear is where my heart is at, analog rytm mk2 is amazing.

      @MrFullyCharged ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@deepvibez oh jeez you’re right! What a time warp! That’s cool. I still have a DJS, mostly bc I think it’s such a unique hybrid layout… but the lack of proper quantized loop recordings means I only seldom use it to sequence already loaded audio bits. I never fell in love with it as a looper/sampler. Glad you’re on the right train!
