Plse.the the battle of Dodowa was initially between the Ashanti's and the Ga-Adganbes the Ashanti's decided to punish the Gas for supporting Sir Charles Macharty during the Nsamankor war of1824.The British took advantage of the situation to moblise the entire army of the Gold Coast colony to avenge the defeat at Nsamankor the tribes are as follows the Akims, Akuapems.Akwamus,
Fantes,Agonas Assins,Twifos no And the Denkyeras infact it was the bravery of the Denkyerahene,Kojo Otibu which resulted in the defeat of the Ashanti's.

Thanks very much for your great and exhaustive reportage on the history of the work done for the Asanteman. I want to talk about the creation of Koforidua. I learnt that that land belongs to Kukurantumi-Akim. As such the leaders of Juaben relegates went to the Kukurantihene for a place to live. He inurn took the matter to Akim Abuakwa chief at Kyebi. The regent, Nana Dukwaa, and her elders gave their blessings for the land of Koforidua. Please could you expand on this.

An alliance of British, along with Ga -Adangbe, Fanti, Denkyira, Akwamu and Akyems . The Ga-Adangbes wouldn’t be able to stand the Ashanti Army all alone .

Thanks for your narration. My comments will go back down memory lane and will ask readers to travel with me.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu had sisters among whom were Odehyee Kyiroma and Odehyee Bonafie.. Nana Kyiroma gave birth to the first Asantehemaa Nyarko Kusi Amoa the mother of. Otumfuo Opoku Ware Panin.
Bonafie gave birth to the second Asantehemaa Nkatia Abamo. She was the mother of Asantehene Kusi Obuodum( Obodum)and Asantehemaa Nana Akua Afryie. Nana Kua Afriyie had daughters among which were Odehyee Yaa Abrafi and Akyamaa. Nana Afryie later married Akyempimhene Owusu Afriyie and bore him Otumfuo Osei Kwadwo (Okoawia). Nana Yaa Abrafi married Asante Mamponghene Asumgyima Penemo and had a daughter named Asantehemaa Konadu Yiadom.
Otumfuo Osei Kwame Panin became King after the death of Nana Osei Kwadwo. It was at the instigation of Ohemaa Konadu that Osei Kwame was made King at the young age of 12 years.
As events unfolded, Otumfuo Osei Kwame refused to celebrate Odwira, failed to go to Bantoma mausoleum and many other traditional lapses and misteps were identified. This sparked off destoolment charges against him. Instead of presenting himself to answer these charges, he chose to abdicate. Upon the instructions of the Asante Kotoko Council Generals Appiah Dankwa and Kwateng Pete went to meet him at Breman to receive the Golden Stool and all paraphernalia associated with it. Nana Ose Kwame Panin died soon after that event.
The first son of Asantehemaa Konadu Yiadom named Barima Kwame Poku was slated to be the next king but died mysteriously.
Her second son Opoku Fofie became the Asantehene. He died about a year later. Barima Osei Kofi was the logical choive but was rejected infavor of his younger brother Osei Kwame who became Asantehene. In ryal parlance, he is referred to as Osei Kumaa.
After his military conquests in the north and the sea, he as addressed as the one Osei who has conquerred the bear and the whale hence Osei Odiasibe and Bonsu(whale). Hence Osei Asibe Bonsu or Bonsu Panin.
He went to be with Nananom and his most junior brother Osei Yaw Akoto became king.
Konadu Yiadom was the only Asantehemaa whose 3 sons became Asantehene in succession.
The Akatamanso war indeed was a great disaster and many captains and Amanhene needlessly lost their lives. Kuntenasehene, Dwaben Boateng and Barima Fredua Agyeman later (Otumfuo Kwaku Duah) fought to retrieve the Golden Stool but lost the Apafram that accompanied it. Otumfuo Osei Akoto was wounded and retired to Sawua.
All typos in this comment are mine.
It bears mention that the father of Otumfuo Osei Bonsu. was Owusu Yaw of Asokore Mampong. Hoeever. Osei Yaw Akoto's fathet was the Anowuohene of Kumase.
    To be continued

The Adas were the ones who captured the golden stool but it was later taken from them. The British aided with not less than 90 military soldiers because they had to protect their trade post in Accra. The Ashanti’s came with over 40k soldiers the Ga-Adangmes including its Allie’s came with less than 20k fighters the Ashanti’s got defeated you people should just accept the fact that you were defeated nothing wrong with that.

It wasn't a war that Ga Adagbe fought at against the Ashanti Kingdom but it was a war the fanties sold off Ghana to the British colonialism... The Ashanti Kingdom helped you keep your culture from the fanties when they waged war against you in 1811.

Your history is not factual....if you read the british book during the dodowa war...the ashantis fought bravely and they almost lost the stool to the enemies...during the war..this made the enemy lose a sense of duty because of the ploudour and Ashantis fought to regain it..but lost the war..when the british use concreve weapons for the first time..the ashantis never experience rocket fire before thought the british were using thunder fire.....

Its a shame fake history has so become ingrained in our minds we dont question even when we live in a knowldged age. Anyone who know the real history of the ga will know that ga has fought major wars in Togo, Benin, and Nigeria. Ga fought darhomey many times, fought as kings guard for oyo. Together with oyo etc they pushed ashanti away from the slave coast. Ga had blood ties with akyem, had treaties with oyo, ashanti, obutu, ada, krobo etc so credit where it is due please. Ga were brave and practical. As for ashanti even in defeat the ga still respected and tried not to forget their past relationship with them. Prince Osei Wusu married an accra woman. Queen Akyiawah lived and married in accra doing many wonderful charity work here. Accra won but the repurcussion was the real blow to the ashanti i.e war with juaben and split in ashati unity
