Great to have you back doing what you do best. Wonderful make-do-and-mend build - exactly what most of us will be doing for the foreseeable future given the economic situation.
@@MonkeyShred Very true, I have ten different pairs Lol. I repaired my clamp with JB Weld as it had cracks in it, turned out so well i never bothered replacing it as it was just as strong as new and looked good after sanding and a bit of black paint.
I have a 1994 (well I think it is) KHS Montana Summit that I'm still riding. Recently did a 300 miles in September challenge on it. I've had to change the seatpost and bar stem for longer ones to make for a more comfortable riding position as I've got older and recently the rear shifter died (would've love to be able to repair the original Exage ones but don't know where to go for parts. I'm considering getting a new bike and converting my Summit to more of a gravel bike but after watching this I may just give it a good overhaul and keep it as is.
A nice little build you have there. :) The process of finding the right amount, right location and right combination of colours on a bike build is something that I often find quite difficult. I like the pink/magenta route that you chose here. The one thing I would change is the saddle colour. A black or white saddle would suit this better imo. But then again saddle ergonomics may cause the next owner to buy them a different the saddle anyway.
Hey got a question. So where do you live in GB? My girlfriend is going to Cambridge for half a year to get her Masters degree. We both are enthusiastic cyclist sadly though she can't take her bicycle from our place with her. So do you live close by to Cambridge?
I'm assuming that he's implying the bike is stolen. As to why, I'm not sure. I don't know of any system to look up a frame number to figure out if it's been stolen.
It sounds like he contemplated that. This thing was probably stolen in the mid 90's. I doubt any reasonable person will think the content maker was a skilled bike thief at that time. If the original owner spots it, It's an even better story and video)).
Mmm I don't know tbh. As soon as I saw it I contacted the seller (unfortunately a couple of months had passed since the sale) and he said he'd owned the bike for a few years after buying it from a bike charity I believe. I'll have to find the message. He'd also said he'd noticed it but always assumed it was chain rub or rock damage or something like that. But am I worried about getting in trouble? No I don't think so. I don't know the legalities though tbh. @Morgan Maanuay - There is a site here that you can check a serial number: www.bikeregister.com/bike-checker
You're calling me a shady individual? I bought a frame without being made aware of that and I'm being completely open about it. Not sure how that makes me shady.
No that doesn't make him shady at all, he bought the frame in good faith only finding out several months later. Also, he can prove that the seller was aware of it & should have mentioned that fact before selling it, plus the original seller said he bought it from bike charity years ago, I don't think anyone's gonna sent the flying squad around to investigate that!
Good to see an old classic returned to the road, great build and entertaining to watch.
Thanks 👍

And we're back. Nice build even with the parts bin stuff!
Thanks Fozzy
4:59 great job!!! congratulations!!!
Thanks 🙏
Nice build and good to see you back. Torvi too.
Thanks!
I had the pro with the tear drop tubing... original red, it was beautiful.. Rode it for years
I still have my PRO from the 90’s!
Awesome!
SO GOOD to see Torvi!
Great video man. cheers from Nova Scotia , Canada
Thanks for watching!
Sweet, sweet bike.
Thanks.
Great video, i have the same Park PCS-9 repair stand. Triton cycles have replacement clamps for preorder for £10.44 better than mole grips 🙂
NOTHING IS BETTER THAN MOLE GRIPS!
Thanks I'll take a look!

How do you mean the shifter died? It might just need a clean out!
@@MonkeyShred it didn't 'grip' to pull the cable the shifter just slid back and forth.
Lovely

Yeah getting the right balance of colours can be tricky. I like the cables and saddle, where as the grips I'm still a little unsure of.
Rar triangle from the smashed one coupled to the front triangle from the one with the ground off serial number?
Looking good use what you have I have those brake levers on my gt - Lts -3 wasn’t sure of the benefit of low high setting😎
I've never adjusted it myself tbh!
God I loved my Montana Pro.
I’ve got another two to build at some point 🙃
Hi mate, what kind of suspension forks are those ones with the gold coloured tubes???
What kind? They’re made by Shocktech and they’re an old elastomer suspension.
@@MonkeyShred thanks for that mate, they’re seriously the coolest old school forks ive ever seen
no serial? that must be a prototype!
Or ground off lol
Yeah.... that would be it....
My first bike was one of these sweet Montana frames
Your first bike was a Montana Pro? Nice!
I thought these were too skinny to upgrade the fork
How'd you mean?
3:35 best sound; hilarious uhahuahuahuahuauhahua
Just those random unexpected sounds 😅
I have a 14 1/2 inch /37cm 1994 Montana pro triple butted in dark metallic grey, 1 inch head tube
I wonder how bad the bike with the bent frame would be?
The chap I bought it from said he was riding it but I dunno...
I built up a Dawes Galaxy with a super bent frame … it rode okay just not in a straight line ha

My girlfriend is going to Cambridge for half a year to get her Masters degree. We both are enthusiastic cyclist sadly though she can't take her bicycle from our place with her.

Near Birmingham!
Staffordshire.
I think I'm about an hour and half away from Cambridge
👍👍👍❤
That's a real shame all the others were unsuitable, especially the bent frame.
Yeah it's been an annoying journey trying to find a decent frame.
Aren't you afraid that this bike could get you in trouble because of the removed serial number?.

sup son
First
£350 for a parts bin build? Wow, I'm off to rhe garage......
That's bumped for eBay. Still, parts have a cost. I've bought parts which have then gone in to storage and then been used. Everything has a cost.
All that money down the toilet
Much like all the money spent on food and drink.
I wouldn't buy a bike without the serial number ground off that makes you a shady individual
You're calling me a shady individual? I bought a frame without being made aware of that and I'm being completely open about it. Not sure how that makes me shady.

That cat hates you.
I remember you. You’re still an unobservant cunt eh? 😏
