Fortress Whale is so valuable, because (A.) it has never been reprinted and (B.) it's a Joey/Mako card from the classic anime, making it collection card for more than one reason.

Skull Dragon. and last time i looked its a value $120 perfect condition. But unfortunately mine as like bite marks on the top while the rest is perfect condition. Its how i recieved in through a mystery random bundle. Majes me wanna cry when i look at it. lol
I remember watching new Yugioh episodes every Saturday, early in the morning then going to play Yugioh for free at the local Toys R Us before opening. It was one of the best atmospheres, everybody playing cards of all ages, trading, conversations, having fun. And back then nobody had the same style deck so every duel was exciting. Those were the days 😭

Simply money that is all any person that can have a job or inheritance or whatever to provide them comfort to casually spend $50k on cards can have a collection of that caliber. Though the average person just gets wonder struck to think its some big crazy story behind it because its so out of most means to accomplish. Give me 50k and 6 months and i could get a collection that rivals or beats that.

It was at the Saturday morning duel league thing at Toys R Us. I was just missing the Left Leg and some kid had it. I pulled a Kaiba with his briefcase and threw down my entire box of cards and was like "I'll give you whatever you want for that Left Leg." Needless to say, I got my final piece. I was so excited I was showing it to everybody. Immediately once I got the set, one of the guys hosting the league offered me $100 on the spot for it. I declined the offer. I still have it today.

They were kept in as new condition but were forgotten and accidentally thrown out as junk by my parents when we moved. I sometimes wonder how much it’d be worth today. I still have a pharaoh’s servant booster box that’s konami sealed in a box in my basement. Crazy how if someone stockpiled and kept hundreds of the original yugioh booster boxes etc they’d make a load of money.

Few weeks down the line, he'll loose to a spikey hair guy who somehow changes the rules for flute of summoning dragon to summon a red eye b. dragon...and magically wings because he drew defusion.
I Was Deceived by China Uncensored, FalunGong-cult I play yu gi oh duel generation and actually there is a deck that allows you to summon exodia in one turn, it's just a deck of drawing cards so I'm not with you, it's really good but it's boring to use it
@@christophersommerhalder2455 I used to run an Exodia/Final Deck before the IoC meta days. The only drawback was that it was a gimmick. Once people at tourney's remembered me, they'd see the final cards, and know I was secretly pulling exodia.
I'm really glad that when I gave up yugioh in 2011 I kept one binder of my favorite cards before I gave the rest away, the binder as a whole is only worth maybe 400 if I'm lucky (probably would't sell it no matter what it was worth) but the nostalgia is what its all about.

I very much hope that you take the entire collection and show it in great detail in long videos. This is so awesome. Really, I mean it. It's the type of video collection ALL future Yugioh collectors can look at as a reference in their collecting.
I literally have like 10 of each of these cards in mint condition and 1st addition. I spent about 20k ( well not me, my parents) back in the day when they first came out. And i kept collecting the cards over and over like multiple blue eyes and red eyes. Theyve been sitting in my basement for years. They are in a binder and some are in cases. Probably should put them in a better case to keep them that way.

OH BABY! That was AMAZING to see. Like I am getting to be a collector myself and I was just hopeing for complete sets of the original yugioh cards, even if they were unlimited. But man. Back then in 2002, when I started Yu-Gi-Oh!, I remembered the First Edition booster box of the Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon was $100 per box. Now in 2019, it is worth thousands.
It's probably just about the fact that collectors like him keep a history of the cards that everyone has played with, by putting together complete collections, where the cards are in very good condition,. That collection will build up to be something like a Yu-Gi-Oh museum.
This was so nostalgic for me, growing up and spending my lunch money for TP packs at target to find that warrior and needle worm. My god, I regret selling everything I had from 2002-2010.

I really miss yugioh... I'm so sad I didn't get to live through the days when every kid played it... I'm only 14 so I don't have many cards, started when i was like 10 , built some solid decks and played with a few friends until everyone stopped playing yugioh, even though I still have interest in the game. Tournaments would be hard because there aren't that many in Germany and in addition i won't have a chance to succeed... I really don't want to just give up the game and my awesome cards... I remember watching my older brother duel so many friends like every day... Does anyone have advice?
I recommend yugioh world championship 2006 for gba. You can play it via gba emulator on ur phone. Great classic yugioh! and every card showcased in this vid is playable in that game.

I remembering having these cards and dueling with them in tournaments. Well, I was 13 or 14 and came home from school one day and found a little fire outside. Well I was failing a class and my mom got the report card in the mail and burnt all of my yugioh cards.The money I saved and the time I invested to make sure I had the best deck all gone. A friend of mines I remember back then in high school couldn’t afford Yugi-oh cards. So, he decided to print out Yugi-oh cards and tape them on his Pokémon cards. He used those printed out Yugi-oh cards the next day to play me during lunchtime. I was like dude! Wtf is this ! I started laughing. He said he couldn’t afford them so he had to go cheap. 😂
man i remember my dad got me a small box of about 300 cards (all in decent condition, this was when i was about 10 and am now 14) and watching this and hearing how valuable some of the cards were, i'm disappointed with myself as there was many 1st - 3rd edition cards from many different packs and now i'm kicking myself as there was like 100 really OLD cards that are no longer allowed in play. so thanks man this was a nice trip down memory lane

I remember my old collection. It had a full first edition set of exodia. All that edition secret rares for the first 12 or so sets of yugioh. So many Ultimate rares. I sold all of that for 600$ 8 years ago to pay to get myself into an apartment with my gf at the time. Looking back, I really missed out man.
I'm sorry to hear your collection got taken from you. The same thing happened to me, twice and honestly I have been really uneasy about collecting again. If you think this is stupid lol This is a card game, you can actually play with it. There is a tiny small stamp that was sold for like millions of dollars, now that thing is fucking stupid.
Imagine a whole years salary for some kept as dollar paper bills. Money kept in the pocket is a waste of money since it depreciates itself through inflaction. Thing that other stuff does as well but at least you own something besides paper that does not worth the amount written on it for example when a certain apocalypse comes by and you will need to trade what it really can useful for to other thing.
I would really love to see the process of getting cards and packs PSA graded and also think it would be really cool to see a collection of psa graded pack or at least framed 1st edition packs from every set as decoration or something

Those are some OG ass sleeves. I remember those sleeves from like 2004. The fact that the previous collector had these cards in those sleeves means he pulled those cards and immediately sleeved and toploadered them right on the spot. I wonder if they still have that fresh card smell the older cards had back in the day the fact that they've been in toploaders for 15 years.

I'm just glad you still had passion after getting what you wanted. I on the other hand did not. I used to really like first person shooters, except I always had bad equipment. Like I played on the 360 years after the one came out. I had hotspot internet and monitors and speakers you got at the DI. Eventually I spent a lot of money on the best I could get and I just felt empty inside after.
Time has flew by, had most of these as kids but was too young and dumb to keep them. Starter deck was like 15-20 bucks and on a Joey starter deck you would get red eyes black dragon, flaming swordsman, the axe dude and etc.
I had most of these cards as a child in foils. I use to by them from a market store. It was from when the game was brand new. As a child you never no they would be worth so much one day. Sadly they all ended up in the bin.
When the pack had only been out like 2 weeks I pulled a first edition Dark Paladin. I soon lost it in a duel to someone who, years later, decided to just give it back. Now this is a card we both took, "mint condition care" of three different sized sleeves and a big plastic top loader. Unfortunately less than a month after getting it back, my mom washed it in a pair of my shorts :'( luckily thanks to the 4 protector sleeves it just barely survived and I still have it/ use it.
It’s blown my mind how much these cards actually cost.. if only I kept my stack of 1500 cards when I was a kid I had the coolest deck on the block thanks to my chores and legendary trading techniques
Evil Goku don't comment on something you know nothing about!! He just took the biggest W most of them cards are worth $300 to $1000 each when gets them grade they are worth much more. The packs are worth $20 to 30 each or more $50 k is a deal but I'd say he probably got it for $30 to $40 k which would be incredible if you don't know much about yugioh educate yourself about then you will realize your wrong. But I do get why you would say that to a person that don't know about yugioh or just think it's stupid it would be an L but his whole life he has collected an dedicated his self to yugioh he's living his dream and making it happen!

I was a pretty hardcore collector as a kid. I always collected pokemon but never played the game. I actually loved playing yugio with my best friend. We would hunt down cards throughout our school and local neighborhoods. I had almost all of these cards at one point. I dont think they were first editions though. Sadly they were stolen from me early 2000's. I moved and someone I thought was a friend stole my "cherished box" video games, cards and gameboys all yanked in 1 go. Rip my childhood.
PSA grading would be cool, but I could already tell the exodia cards will get a 9 for being off centered, but don't let that stop you from sending some of these cards in. PSA videos would be fun.

OH BABY! That was AMAZING to see. Like I am getting to be a collector myself and I was just hopeing for complete sets of the original yugioh cards, even if they were unlimited. But man. Not only full sets of those old sets but MULTIPLES! And FIRST EDITION! I would love to see more of this awesome collection.

It's probably just about the fact that collectors like him keep a history of the cards that everyone has played with, by putting together complete collections, where the cards are in very good condition,. That collection will build up to be something like a Yu-Gi-Oh museum.
This was so nostalgic for me, growing up and spending my lunch money for TP packs at target to find that warrior and needle worm. My god, I regret selling everything I had from 2002-2010.
I got half of my collections stolen from 4 different times from 04 to 2014. If not for that I'd have a shit ton of cards.

I really miss yugioh... I'm so sad I didn't get to live through the days when every kid played it... I'm only 14 so I don't have many cards, started when i was like 10 , built some solid decks and played with a few friends until everyone stopped playing yugioh, even though I still have interest in the game. Tournaments would be hard because there aren't that many in Germany and in addition i won't have a chance to succeed... I really don't want to just give up the game and my awesome cards... I remember watching my older brother duel so many friends like every day... Does anyone have advice?
Terrarian just search for a Card Shop in your area. There Are a lot of them out there in Germany.
I recommend yugioh world championship 2006 for gba. You can play it via gba emulator on ur phone. Great classic yugioh! and every card showcased in this vid is playable in that game.

I remembering having these cards and dueling with them in tournaments. Well, I was 13 or 14 and came home from school one day and found a little fire outside. Well I was failing a class and my mom got the report card in the mail and burnt all of my yugioh cards.The money I saved and the time I invested to make sure I had the best deck all gone. A friend of mines I remember back then in high school couldn’t afford Yugi-oh cards.
So, he decided to print out Yugi-oh cards and tape them on his Pokémon cards.
He used those printed out Yugi-oh cards the next day to play me during lunchtime.

man i remember my dad got me a small box of about 300 cards (all in decent condition, this was when i was about 10 and am now 14) and watching this and hearing how valuable some of the cards were, i'm disappointed with myself as there was many 1st - 3rd edition cards from many different packs and now i'm kicking myself as there was like 100 really OLD cards that are no longer allowed in play. so thanks man this was a nice trip down memory lane

It's so weird... i used to play Yugioh back in the day and i loved it, wasnt competitive at all, it was something for fun. I didnt really had the money back then nor did my parents to afford such cards for me to really get into it further. Well, here i am playing Duel Links since day 1 and i spent money reguarly and i have almost all cards (i can afford things like that now) yet i'm always going back to SimplyUnlucky and watch all your videos, it's something great about them, they give me this feeling of nostalgia and also make me feel like i own the cards with you, if that makes sense? Haha. All im saying is never stop and keep doing these videos, we love you bro :)

I remember my old collection. It had a full first edition set of exodia. All that edition secret rares for the first 12 or so sets of yugioh. So many Ultimate rares. I sold all of that for 600$ 8 years ago to pay to get myself into an apartment with my gf at the time. Looking back, I really missed out man.

I'm sorry to hear your collection got taken from you. The same thing happened to me, twice and honestly I have been really uneasy about collecting again. Seeing this video and how positive you are through a negative situation, especially a similar situation I have been through, gives me a lot of courage to keep collecting. Money kept in the pocket is a waste of money since it depreciates itself through inflaction. Thing that other stuff does as well but at least you own something besides paper that does not worth the amount written on it for example when a certain apocalypse comes by and you will need to trade what it really can useful for to other thing.

Those are some OG ass sleeves. I remember those sleeves from like 2004. The fact that the previous collector had these cards in those sleeves means he pulled those cards and immediately sleeved and toploadered them right on the spot. I wonder if they still have that fresh card smell the older cards had back in the day the fact that they've been in toploaders for 15 years.

I'm just glad you still had passion after getting what you wanted. I on the other hand did not. I used to really like first person shooters, except I always had bad equipment. Like I played on the 360 years after the one came out. I had hotspot internet and monitors and speakers you got at the DI. Eventually I spent a lot of money on the best I could get and I just felt empty inside after.

Time has flew by, had most of these as kids but was too young and dumb to keep them. Starter deck was like 15-20 bucks and on a Joey starter deck you would get red eyes black dragon, flaming swordsman, the axe dude and etc.

I had most of these cards as a child in foils. I use to by them from a market store. It was from when the game was brand new. As a child you never no they would be worth so much one day. Sadly they all ended up in the bin.

When the pack had only been out like 2 weeks I pulled a first edition Dark Paladin. I soon lost it in a duel to someone who, years later, decided to just give it back. Now this is a card we both took, "mint condition care" of three different sized sleeves and a big plastic top loader. Unfortunately less than a month after getting it back, my mom washed it in a pair of my shorts :'( luckily thanks to the 4 protector sleeves it just barely survived and I still have it/ use it.

Evil Goku don't comment on something you know nothing about!! He just took the biggest W most of them cards are worth $300 to $1000 each when gets them grade they are worth much more. The packs are worth $20 to 30 each or more $50 k is a deal but I'd say he probably got it for $30 to $40 k which would be incredible if you don't know much about yugioh educate yourself about then you will realize your wrong. But I do get why you would say that to a person that don't know about yugioh or just think it's stupid it would be an L but his whole life he has collected an dedicated his self to yugioh he's living his dream and making it happen!

Man if only I knew these would become collector cards when I was 11. I was the first kid in my smallish country town to even get my hands on 2 of the original starter decks, threw them away when I was 13 and started highschool.

I was a pretty hardcore collector as a kid. I always collected pokemon but never played the game. I actually loved playing yugio with my best friend. We would hunt down cards throughout our school and local neighborhoods. I had almost all of these cards at one point. I dont think they were first editions though. Sadly they were stolen from me early 2000's. I moved and someone I thought was a friend stole my "cherished box" video games, cards and gameboys all yanked in 1 go. Rip my childhood.

Red-eyes, Dark Maj, and Blue-eyes. I believe those are first prints. The dark color kinda indicates the prints. Those have more value than you think lol.
