Thanks to Nate Poole's last-second touchdown 4:15 , the Packers went to the playoffs instead of the Vikings that year. After the game, he was honored in a ceremony in Green Bay, WI and given a key to the city!
A heartbreak compilation of the highest order. I’m a Cowboys fan and have had my fair share of pain and disappointment, so watching this was like a therapy session. Misery loves company
There was this playoff game between the Seahawks and the Cowboys. There was less than a minute and a half left in the 4th quarter, the Cowboys are down 21 to 20. The Cowboys were about to kick a field goal, giving them the lead, but after the snap, Tony Romo fails to get a grip of the ball, forcing himself to have to run to the end zone, but was immediately stopped. Man, did he look sad after that.
I’ll play devil’s advocate with this one. The holder had the laces facing away from the end zone, which is a universal no-no due to it being proven that the football could go pretty much any direction. Still doesnt help ease the pain of missing a field goal from that close, but the holder definitely had their part in that miss
I think the NFC Divisional game in 2015 between the Cards and Packers need to be on this. Considering Rodgers made 2 epic throws to get a near impossible first down then a TD to tie it only for the defense to leave Larry Fitzgerald wide open in overtime was classic.
I feel really bad for John Carney. Most people will only remember him for this missed extra point. As it turns out, the Saints didn't get the help they needed to get into the playoffs, so the crazy lateral play (and win in OT that they would have needed) wouldn't have mattered.
I remember I once told my mom (who hates sports) the story of Scott Norwood missing the field goal at the end of Super Bowl 25. She answered, “See, that’s why no one should play sports. Because you can end up feeling so terrible over something so stupid!” Her answer has stuck with me ever since. I can’t deny that she has a point. Sports are nothing but a silly game. It’s a shame that a silly game can make people hurt *so* much.
I’ve got another one: the 2006 wildcard game of Cowboys and Seahawks Score is 21-20 with Seattle ahead. Cowboys have it 4th and 1 at the 2 yard line. Ball gets snapped to Romo and he fumbles the snap setting it up for a field goal. He picks it up, runs it, and gets tackled less than a yard from the endzone, fumbles it mid tackle, and Seattle recovers the fumble. You could see the pain in his face in the post-game over that one.
It was the same game as the one with the laterals. Also that kicker who missed that extra point is #5 all-time for total points scored in the nfl. Also, he had not missed an extra point for like the last 200 he did before that. Also, that touchdown was the only successful lateral play since 2000 in the nfl and probably before then too. It’s probably the most famous missed extra point in nfl history
2nd and goal at the 1 yard line. You have time to run the ball. You have Marshawn Lynch to run the ball in for the win. ...and choose to pass a quick slant route. I will never get over how baffling that play call was.
It was absolutely a horrible call, but the defender made contact with the receiver before he intercepted the ball. Defensive pass interference, replay first down, Marshawn Lynch busts in for the TD

@@troymcallister8400 What are you talking about? He was playing the ball and jumped the route perfectly. This fact is emphasized by the fact that you see Russell himself not even putting up a fight about it and just walking off the field disappointed.
Honorable mention should be the Lions vs Falcons (from like 2017 I think). Lions threw a go ahead touchdown with like 8 seconds left. Officials reviewed the play and ruled the receiver was short of the goal line. Since the runner was tackled in bounds, they called for a 10 second run-off which ended the game since the Lions were out of timeouts. Even more brutal is the fact that the Lions finished the year 9-7, just missing out on the playoffs. So the lions literally missed the playoffs by mere inches that year
And Lions are the only team to lose on multiple 60+ yard field goals on the last play of the game, the 63-yardet by Tom Dempsey in 1970 and the 66-yarder from Justin Tucker in 2021.

Regardless of what happened afterwards, I remember vividly the Minneapolis miracle. I had watched every game for since I was as young as I could remember. I went upstairs beating my leg and throwing stuff. My dad said if you give up this will be the one time you miss the greatest hail Mary of all time. As I turned my tv back on tears running down my face Diggs had just caught the prior pass. The next emotions is something I’ll never truly be able to describe.
Pro tip: i always wear a Seahawks jersey to school on test days because I know I'll pass when I shouldn't
I had Cards season tix back then and still remember that catch! Vikings fans were so pissed
As a Saints fan, that one hit HARD.
Green Bay @ Seattle 2012 needs to be on this. The robbery game lol.
Ah, yes, the Vikings missing GW kicks. A time honored NFL tradition.
GREAT vid man keep up the good work
Find it funny how the thumbnail is actually a scene of relief of the winner and not despair lol
I haven’t watched a saints game since the Minneapolis miracle. Shit was heartbreaking
0:09 *ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!*
The Malcom Butler int is so painful dude it physically causes me discomfort i have to fast forward Everytime
Blair Walsh and Cody Parkey...man thats brutal
Damn, Vikings and Saints been having it tough in the playoffs lol
not only that, they are both responsible for the two toughest losses each team has respectively had in the playoffs.
Imagine if the Seahawks had someone like Marshawn Lynch so they could trust the run on the goal line
The worst way to lose a game is what Cleveland did against Kansas City in 2002.
2:43 Ever since that tipped Field Goal (later ruled as “Blocked”), or “Double Doink”, there have been many unfortunate exits for each team as they won, that season.
Double Doink on the Bears, a missed catch on the Eagles (yep, Alshon), a no-penalty flag on the Saints, and a measly 3-pt score for the Rams, in one of the worst Super Bowls of all time.
Tuckers the goat for a reason
The “NOOO” was so bad but then followed with “ohhhh my god! how could he do THAT” I’d kms 💀😭
Nadamakin sue never did anything wrong he’s the cleanest player in the league
I'm also delusional 😃

Fun fact: the Hawks would go on to sign Walsh for 2017. He missed 8 field goals and the hawks finished 9-7, missing the wild card by one game.
That Tucker kick doesn’t count. 2 plays prior the referees blatantly ignored a delay of game by Baltimore.
Therefore the kick doesn’t count.
Two devastating lion losses at the end…. Thanx bro
