Hey guys, just a quick video because I have had a few people messaging me about how they could shortcut their trade skill leveling. The amount of resources required is getting more difficult lately with bots, so I wanted to share a way I have been using lately that I use to level my aptitude, by turning infused silk, ironwood, orichalcum ingots and other t5 mats into 4x the amount simply by using the in-game crafting systems. I hope it helps! Where I typed in 8000 raw iron wood it should be 16k, I copied the wrong number from my pad, that was for 1000 planks.
@@iTwnRasta The point I was trying to get across, same in all the crafting video's is not to buy t5 mats, that is the least efficient way regardless of how much money you make farmnig anything else. But yes, competing with bots for something you need is foolish always far mwhats best and easiest then buy mats 2 tiers below what you need and raw t5

And im selling 10 Asmodeum and 10 Runic Leather every day to get some money back. And yea i could also farm starmetal but i think its just more efficient to farm orichalcum :P
Pro tip. Use Tolvium instead of orichcalcum for weaponsmithing axes. Half the price. And when you salvage you get orichalcum to sell. Reply if this is big brain and give me credit if you make a video on this

OMG yes! im doing this right now haha. didnt even think about that. my server might have to farm 2500 ironwood planks because our planks are currently 12-13 gold a piece and the legendary mats are about 7-8. but much better than using ironwood planks
The flaw in this plan is that (at least on my server but probably most of them at this point) the bot locust swarm has descended and unless you stand next to a resource node and wait for it to spawn you aren't gathering much of anything.
This whole thing sorta baffles me. Correct me if I'm wrong. You said we should farm 2k Ironwood Planks? Yet you want us to farm 8k Ironwood & 6k Wyrdwood? According to my calculations I would need a total of 16k Ironwood & 24k Wyrdwood (requires 24k Wyrdwood to make the 4k wyrdwood planks) Because to make Ironwood planks 1 alone requires 8 Ironwood & 2 Wyrdwood planks. Now times that number but 2k means the numbers shown are not accurate.... please correct me if I'm missing something?
On lower pop servers the pricing is different but I recently finished Engineering using much of your advice. Something I would look at outside of luck however; I've found that when I craft tools with the yield trait they have a high chance to also have alacrity. While it produces less rares I can farm more base materials faster.
I just got engineering to 200 crafting oricalcum arrows. I had resources saved up before the merge so it's a little bit easier. The best part about it is that I spent virtually $0 because arrows sell so well
It still works just not as well, with the rare wood s you would get while gathering + rare woods from logging aptitude + rare woods from woodworking aptitude, you will double your total potential for crafting , so it works but maybe just not as efficiently
i did this for engineering the other day and got to 200, i also did this for armoring last month.. so easy to get the skinning legendary mats. How can i use this system for furnishing? I'm sitting at 180 atm.
@@idrew0032 sorry bud my bad.. am at work, i meant smolderhide and scarhide. I used it inplace of infused leather for gloves.. at the time i had heaps of it from farming pigs in edengrove.
Lucky I did finish Eng using orichalcum arrows before the last big update making ori cost so much. Arrows make you some of your money back atm tho. But not all of it lmao.
i am on a big pop server in EU and no chance you can farm wood cause there are either bots or guild farmers. And i dont wanna wake up 4 in the night to farm it. So i just farm the gold by trading on the action house and low buy orders, sell them high and buy the things to craft and level ^^
in a way i wish mine would go up, im on olympus so its high pop also, some days que, cause asmon.. but i have thousands of rares I would love to unload :(
U can litterly spend that time to farm u can spend on mony makers that will get your 200 faster then harvesting. Ps.u can change he wyrmwood to the rare mats u get witch is way way cheaper at least in rockabarra u can also change the ironwood planks vs barbvine witch is 5 gold each vs iron planks 15 each

Same way really, scalecoth etc are very very cheap atm, so making infused silk, and selling and buying scalecloth on a 2/1 or even 3/1 ratio, same thing
@@5HeadSurvivalGaming Hah! Yeah it's a good money maker. I've been too busy using them though, since I'm still trying to finish up engineering (189 atm). But it seems with the pricing how it is, I'm actually better off using the ironwood itself to crank out spears.
Sadly, it doesn't work very well when barbvine/wildwood is more or less the price of ironwood planks. It still helps to gather/refine yourself, but not to the point where you can make 2k planks and be done with it
@@wakichunu too bad you don't know that there are several dozens of server and each one is different. On mine, like i said, both planks and wildwood/barbvine are around 15 coins. Maybe next time you'll think twice ;)

In my high pop server leg leather is more expensive than t5.. this only work with leg wood where leg wood is 4 coins cheaper.. but it not that great of a deal
well I am on high pop olympus with a que, and leg leather is 3 coins, where infused is 6, so it isnt a big however the principal still works, the point i was making is your producing these legendary materials in mass amounts while processing your primary material, so if you use these materials also, your cutting your over all farming down by 20%, 50% and more in some cases.
it works in any event, it isn't solely about buying, if you far materials as opposed to buying t5, you will get rares from aptitude crates while gathering, get rares while processing from refining aptitude crates, and this will add up quickly, so even if your market doesn't fit this narrative exactly you are still going to produce enough rares to use in place of the t5 to cut your farming by 25 % at least
T5 legendaries are usually less expensive than t5 mats but sadly there is always somebody badly increasing prices and putting like 1000 buy order in my server so it is impossible doing this. Fortunately i stockpiled t5 raw mats two months ago and im still using them otherwise it was impossible for me leveling trade skills anymore. However my stockpile is running dry really from 30k ori only 6k left and my weaponsmithing is still 80 so i still need thousands of ori ingots. I guess i will just ditch weaponsmithing which became too expensive anyway doesn't worth the investment for sure. I wish i had like 100k ori ore stockpile, 10k was literally 100g and i only bought 30k..
Ya weaponsmithing was the one I wasn't sure about, thats why I singled it out in the video, metal prices are really unstable, dropping then shooting through the roof , I would hate to level weaponsmithing in this market
@@5HeadSurvivalGaming Tolvium just dropped to 7 coin while ori ingot is 27 coin so im buying hundreds of them. But 8,560 of them needed for 150-200 leveling which is just too much. Perhaps they would add new recipes or make a big mistake like ice gaunlet giving ori ingots, otherwise i can't see a way to do it. And it is really weird ori ingot getting extremely valuable while t5 leg mats are so cheap. I really wonder what is pressuring it's price, it can't be asmo which also uses those leg metals..
Well it is still alot however, it is 1/4 of the regularly required ones. The trend I see happening alot in new world, that you do not see in other mmo's is that people want crafting to be easy.. It is not easy in FF14, it is not easy in WoW , you will always have to farm..
@@5HeadSurvivalGaming In wow crafting is not as masochistic as New World. You could do your dailies and gather here and there. It is not as bad . In new world to craft its like a part time job. Tbh the best way to level ur crafting skills is to make money the most efficient way and than craft the best (money/xp) item. :)

Nope your correct, I forgot to double it, 8000 ironwood would only make around 1300 planks

I farm alot of resources in places bots can't, like in Imperial Palace, etc, they may be there, but they are easily killed
Put a tent in their path.
Just report in game has removed alot off my server everytime i see one or spec one in chat
same. I can't run any gathering route without seeing 10 naked bots sitting next to higher tier resources.

well this doesnt work on our server with barvine and wildwood costing on par with iw planks

What ever server you are on...be glad the prices are what they are....prices on Eden on US east are like 30x higher

Wish this could work on my server, hah (Bouneima). Barbwire is going for 25 each, and Wildwood is 18 each. Ironwood planks are actually cheaper, lol.
On the other hand I wish my server wildvine and barvine where 25 each :/ I have thousands at this point from boxes / farming

iron wood is always down, there are usually 5-6 bots in each territory
