the entire bottom row of upwards pointing conveyors is pointless, and could be replaced with just walls to save resources. Also to maximize spawning, you can place slimes under the conveyors, which in your current setup would give you 33%+ more spawn locations for your slimes.

I wonder if it's possible to make a caveling farm or even make them respawn more consistently

I think any auto farm is do able now an actual auto farm with an auto planter with watering well I dunno about that lol.
