THIS IS SO REAL! I was just in a show about a month ago...and for the first two weeks we would come back from intermission & sing this song (BEAUTIFUL SONG MIND YOU) & we were so confused cause all we heard was crackling and crumbling and we were like WTF IS THAT NOISE...IT WAS EVERYONES POPCORN BAGS AFTER INTERMISSION THAT THEY WERE STILL SNACKING ON! Omg sounded like everyone in the audience was rolling around in foil, bubble wrap, wrapping paper, using noise makers, playing with rain makers..AWFUL!!!!!!

I can't even deal, we would go out there for act 2 & glare at the audience with this loving look but when we would get off stage after that song we were like "THESE A$$HOLES!" Lmao! Sharing this with all my theater friends!! Ps I feel like you & I would be BFFs in real life, you're hilarious & I adored your periscopes with Playbill today! I wish you could've seen my reaction especially with the Newsies routine..stop it right now. Died. Okay bbbbyyeeeeeeee *clap clap*! 💕💕
A few months back I was in Les Mis in London and during the Thénadiers song which is probably at least 45mins in the show about five people came in. Because there is not much leg room half of the people in the row in front of me had to get out to let those morons in. And the worst part is they were carrying plates and champagne glasses.....what? In my opinion as soon as the show starts no one is allowed to go in anymore until intermission!
You forgot to mention how to dress! Nobody dresses up for it anymore and it makes me sad. I don't go with my dad anymore because he goes in sweats and i just want to die sitting next to him. Is it so hard to put on a button up and slacks ugh
As an argentinian who loves theatre thanks to his mother who doesn't know a word in english, I am so sorry but I would translate to my mom (not speaking loud, of course) because I think we all deserve to enjoy and it's not common to have big boadway musicals here. Usually I explain to my mom in advance but sometimes there are jokes that only english speakers understand, it can't be a sin to explain something to someone who also wants to enjoy
I recently went to see Wicked on tour it was incredible but this little girl kept talking to her mum all the way through act one! Also these two old people kept having a conversation! Me and my sister mimed the words to ourselves so hopefully we didn't annoy anyone, but yeah! Amen to all of that!!
OH MY GOD!!!!!! This is my biggest pet peeve when seeing a show. Why do people spend so much money to see a show and then not pay attention and ruin it for everyone..... I have never understood that.
when i saw aladdin on broadway with my school for our east coat trip, SOME IDIOT IN FRONT OF ME WAS ON INSTAGRAM AND TALKING CRAP ON THE SHOW AND COURTNEY REED! AND SO ME AND MY FRIEND SLAPPED HIM V QUIETLY AND HE WAS PISSED

Oh my god when I went to see wicked the girls next to us were singing the whole time and turned on their phone flashlights every time they had to get one thing and then they dropped their freaking KEYS OMG, the couple in front of us kept moving and kissing and putting their heads together (keep it in the bedroom pleASE). And that's not even the worst of it. We came back from intermission right on time for the second act and then 10 minutes later the lady sitting on the other side of me came in and was like "what did we miss" LIK BITCH NO I am seeing this for the first time too, I BARELY know what is going because I'm seeing it for the first time ALSO. Maybe you should have gotten back in time. It was still an AMAZING show, though. :)
My grandpa made me mad because he took off his shoes and put his feet on the chair in front of him amdmhit someone on the head. And the lady next to me answered her phone in the middle of the show and wouldn't stop talking. So thanks for this video nothing annoys me more than when people don't understand common curdasy expesally inna tjearter.
Also....if your are bringing children to the theatre ensure they will be QUIETE!!!!!! I am going to see Wicked in a few weeks and my mam wants to bring my seven year old sister. I said she can as long as she watches wizard of oz first and then I educate her on the show before hand so she won't ask stupid questions during the show. Eg: "why is the mean witch and the good witch friends in school?"
I just saw a production of Beauty and the Beast at a near by community theatre with my boyfriend and directly to the left of us was a mom and her daughter (in her lap) and the little girl talked (and yelled!) the ENTIRE time. I want to stress that I was upset with the mother for bringing a child who was clearly not old enough to sit through a play. (I can't really be mad at the kid cause kids don't no better). don't bring a child to a play! even if its disney! If the kid doesn't know better than to yell the entire time then wait until they are old enough to sit quietly. I can pass a few outburst every once and a while but if they are constantly being disruptive then you shouldn't be there. It's not just annoying for you to have to quiet your kid down, it's annoying to EVERYONE AROUND YOU who paid money to come watch the show. Its not polite to them or the actors who have to now act while ignoring constant yelling.
Yes! Should also cover inappropriate interaction, such as when someone is moved to the point they shout out responses. If it's a play or musical and the cast has not called out to you just sit there and be the viewer & let the actors do what they do, you can really throw off the flow, let's keep the attention where it needs to be which is on the stage. I can't say enough to that singing that you mentioned, buy the soundtrack and perform in the comfort of you home, I don't want to hear you! Just the cellphone light coming on is a distraction, it's so infuriating, disrespectful, rude to the cast and crew, your fellow theater goers. The only people who should be allowed the phones are on-call surgeon or emergency worker of some sort, which I am certain they receive another type of alert and would excuse themselves and use phone in lobby, just my guess.
I hate the people who do those things in theaters or in a play. Worst when a baby cry or bother the people around and the parents don't do anything. How can someone really enjoy a bway show if they are translating all the time or listening another person explaining you everything ? Ps: i'm from Argentina ha-ha , i couldn't not comment. I know a little of english, i hope don't needing anyone else to explain me whats happening when/if i go in a future, not much far away , i expect.
