I once went through my sales history and sent a private coupon to any customer who spent over $100 or bought multiple items in a single order. Basically, only my "good" customers. I got 3 sales out of 15 coupons sent. It's absolutely an act of desperation but a quick and easy attempt to get a sale during a slow time.
@dogcatmousecow533 I had to be aggressive and strategic. I sent a 20% off coupon to individuals who had spent a good amount of money in my store. Most importantly, I looked at their past purchases and made sure I had similar items available. I got two repeat buyers of comics and one of board games. Both categories, I had acquired more inventory since their last purchase. I got the idea because I have on occasion received a notification of a store coupon and utilized it.

A good idea for multiple episodes might be a breakdown of each major eBay category: what's unique to each, what to do and not to do, how to source, etc.
Mate, I think much of the strife with "drama" is playing the man, rather than the ball, and then doubling down in the comments with the pettiness. Very unbecoming for allegedly grown men. My grandma always told me men were the biggest yentas, and she was right. lol. Certainly not unique to the Ebay community. Variety (especially of thought) is the spice of life.
I just found you and I think you are really honest about what you are doing and how and the results. I just watch for your information and don’t care about what another specific person is doing. I just want to hear your ways. Everyone does things their way and if I find someone else to watch, I will hear what they do and why. So, that’s probably the thing about talking about how someone specific does things. In general, your ideas about your way is what I care about when I watch you.
Video idea: Buys that inexperienced resellers might pick up, but you present reasons why you'd wisely pass on it. I've been meaning to do such a video for months, but maybe I'll leave it to the professionals. ;-)
James wife is paying his bills forsure. Pretty sure she bought him all that inventory as well as the storage lockers filled with junk. How can no one else see this?
I knew going into February to expect a slow month...but damn, it's been tough. Good thing I was wise enough to save during the flush times to help weather the dips, but things better start turning around soon. O.O
I don't know how to make video listings. Could you go over how you do that? Can you do it on your phone? Do you have to use the computer? I would be interested in that video.
Have you ever considered making TH-cam Polls? You can ask questions about controversial topics like free shipping, returns, or other TH-camrs. It might spark a debate in the comments that you can mine for future video topics.
@onefootflipper People can even subscribe to your channel through your Polls. They may seem pointless and ridiculous, but (I assume) require zero effort. It's not a common practice in the TH-cam Reseller space, but you might be the trend setter.
Remember your death pile plan... Your front room and your clean basement were by design. And you don't have sourcing costs these last few months. Congrats on your slow sales!
Just for fun, have you tired toggling international shipping off for a day then back on? It won't do anything but at least it kinda feels empowering. On a separate subject, possibly for video content, after the first of the year I've been getting a lot more returns and lost/delayed mail. Have you?
I have had large chucks of delayed mail ever since the first of the year, particularly things that get picked up on monday, I have had monday stuff sit for 2 weeks before getting a scan.
I did a short warning video about making sure you are putting in proper dimensions now (it used to not matter if it was less than a cubic foot). I might revisit the topic in a general shipping video.
How are you getting a tax refund if you resell full time and don't do anything else? You have to pay 15.3% self employed tax + 1/4th of your estimated income tax every quarter, the only way you would get any refund is if you do something else full time, overpaid your quarterly taxes, or didn't file your taxes right which may be the reason since they are requesting more info from you. Good luck if you get audited, you probably won't though, they only audit the top 1% usually, not worth auditing you or me.
I am married so there is a second income there, I sent in quarterly taxes at the rate I did for the previous year where I made more money and we dumped a bunch into tax deferred retirement accounts.

The people who stay subscribed to you are smarter than average so as people sub and unsub the average IQ of your subscriber base is going up as self-selection does its work. As for channel ideas, I dont know, it seems like there is an "invisible hand" of the attention economy just like the market economy. Even though its irrational, for most people its very depressing to post something and get no views or likes just as its a dopamine rush to get a lot of them, so I suspect peoples channels naturally create what gets the most views through a subconscious pavlovian conditioning without having to strategize much about it.
I'm really surprised that you lose viewers after videos. I haven't heard anyone talking bad (viewers). There is one of the guys that I know does lose viewers (not Dave he is growing in popularity) who has changed a lot with his growth. He used to be very nice but now is rather full of himself and getting snarky and persnickety. I have heard I lot of people disliking him now, but not you. 🥰
I had two periods of extremely fast growth. I went to a couple thousand subs in my first month and then I once gained 900 in one day when Hairy Tornado talked about me in a video. I am thus still fighting against the people who subbed but never watched getting reminded that I exist. Dave is one of the only longer term big guys in this space who is still on a complete upward trajectory in all metrics (most big channels eventually hit a peak in monthly views and then start trending down in them even as their subs continue to grow).
