Oh dear. Record home defeat for Middlesbrough against an Arsenal side that was surrendering their league title to Manchester Utd.
Marc Overmars opened the scoring with an early penalty before Anelka (2), Kanu (2) and Vieira completed the scoring. Alun Armstrong got one back for Boro with 3 minutes left and The Arse 6 up.
Glad The Boro saved their miraculous comebacks for 7 years later!
Watch out for Kanus backheel goal. Even the most fanatical of Boro fans had to applaud that one.

I was there that day with my mum. We travelled up on the train and it was great in with the other Goobers. One of the best performances we had and there were many. So lucky to have been there. Born fans were great applauding us. Kanu and Anelka were sensational that day along with Overmars and Vieira. We all cheered when Armstrong scored their goal. Memories, eh?!

I was at this game and it's the one and only time as a Boro fan I have clapped the opposition off. Arsenal were simply unplayable, Anelka gave one of the best strike performances I have ever seen. The scary thing is they were missing their best player Bergkamp. Don't think Henry had joined yet.
