Delighted to have found your channel Lorna -thank you!I am so inspired by your beautiful aesthetic and gorgeous makes that embrace both your knitting and sewing.I too do both and often wish for more hours in a day and an extra pair of hands😅… you have given lots of thought to lifestyle/wardrobe balance and I am truly motivated to do the same.Thank you again and look forward to seeing more of your lovely creativity🥰xx
Thanks for your lovely comment, Karen! I also wish there were more hours in the day - I think I could easily fill my time with various knitting and sewing projects 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Xx
Love seeing your ideas and listening to your plans, Lorna. You sound so sure of your style, which is great. I'm such a procrastinator, I always mean to plan better. I am in awe of you jeans making confidence ☺
It's definitely been a journey! Both the style and jean making 😊 I'm thinking of doing a video about the evolution of my sewing and style if that'd be interesting? It's really just trying things out and building experience 😊
The autumn always seems like the perfect time to make things, whether its home decorate, clothes or gifts. Watching this has just made me more excited about my plans. Can't wait for part two!
RE: floral dress, do you watch rosary apparel videos at all? your dress vibes kind of reminds me of her style! She also has a pattern called the 'daisy dress' which kind of would work perhaps. It also made me think of the million button dress by daria pattern making.
Great suggestions! I haven't watched any Rosery Apparel, so I'll definitely check that out. I also think the DPM dress is just what I had in mind, thanks!! I'm wondering whether I'll wait to next year now, so I can work on some dungarees instead, but we'll see 😊
I think that low/no contrast smocking would make for a lovely textural shirt and would work with any outfit that you might want to put together. That said a folksy colourful shirt would be cheerful to work on during the long evenings of winter.
Lovely inspirational vlog, thank you for sharing your plans. It’s certainly got me thinking about my wardrobe and knitting projects. I am knitting the festive blanket Rowan felted tweed by Martin Storer. Do so love a knitting project this time of year. I will check out your other blogs now ❤
For your knitting pattern, I bet you would love either the Minerva Cardigan or the Forest Berry Jacket from Fabel Knitwear! Helene has so many incredible old-fashioned-inspired designs ❤ I always love what you make! You suggest the best patterns!! Keep up the great content 😊
One option for the fitted, round neck cardigan could be Ysolda’s Stockbridge. I haven’t done it yet though, but have thought of. 😅 Lovely plans, and I’m glad you included also your knitting plans. 🧶
The first Liberty dress you mentioned is really similar to a pattern I have called the Sabrina Dress from Patterns by Brandi Joan. It's very The Vampire's Wife, I'm actually about to make it again (it was one of the first garments I made and I think I can do a better job now). It's quite short so I'm going to make mine longer, but I think it would look lovely as a midi dress too. No buttons of course, but the pattern you showed reminded me of it. I also think you would like Silversaga's patterns, she has a long v-neck dress that seems like it may be your style.
Thank you 🥰 I'm actually about to start making a bigger quilt for my bed and had thought about documenting the steps in a few videos - it'll be the same sort of style as this one, if that's interesting?
Hello Lorna. As usual, I love your colour choices as they would suit me too 😊. I wonder whether the Deer and Doe Myositis dress or the Tilly and the Buttons Lyra dress would be something similar to what you have in mind. Also, regarding the smocking, I agree that low contrast neutral would be good. If you do it in white I feel it’d be a shame to do all the hard work of smocking and then not see it very well, I hope this makes sense 😊
Love your inspirational ideas. Love the quilt pattern you used. I’m interested in dipping into both the quilting and the dying of fabrics. Did you hand stitch all of it (including the seam joining ? And what is the name of the actual pattern that creates the stars ?
Glad you enjoyed it 😊 the quilt pattern is an ohio star - I've also made one in my patchwork pockets vid, though it's not a tutorial. I machine sew the pieces together, then hand quilt it to the filler and backing. I'll then hand slip stitch the last step of the binding on 😊
What pattern will you use for your dungarees? I love both the Ready to Wear Patsy overalls and the Helen's Closet Yanta Overalls. I modify the Patsys to be fixed strap, as I find the drawstring top uncomfortable.
I'm trying to decide between the Jenny Overalls and the Harlenes - I find them both quite comfy, but they have very different fits! I haven't made the Patsy or Yanta overalls before but they both look great, thanks!

It really does 🍂 I'm glad you enjoyed it!! Good luck with your plans, I'd love to hear about them 😊

Perhaps you'd like this hack of her 'rosa dress' pattern as well, it looks so good with the ditsy floral: th-cam.com/video/9YIcUIV9W_E/w-d-xo.html

I'd like to see all of these items finished.
I'm slowly working through them ☺️ I've made a few recently though and talk about them in my latest video!

I'm very tempted by both!!

Ooh lovely! Felted Tweed is gorgeous, we have it at the yarn shop I work at a day a week and I'm always eyeing it up. I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊

Thanks so much! You're right about Fabel Knitwear - I love their work but had forgotten about it! Thanks for the reminder 😊
@@threadandyarn no problem!! I see so many similarities between your style and the designs from Fabel Knitwear!
I REALLY like your fabric picks. I would sew with any of them. I’ve really been drawn to homespun type look.
Thank you! Yes, me too. I love the look and feel of these sorts of fibres 😊
I talked myself out of that floral fabric because I couldn't quite see what I'd make from it! So beautiful though and a dress would be lovely.
I did buy it without an idea of what it would be, which I don't normally do! I think a dress will work well though 😊

Ooh that's a good idea! The buttons aren't essential, and it's definitely the right sort of thing.
Also, I've recently found Silversaga, and love their designs 😊
Wow, love your ideas! I would be very interested in more info on your handsewn quilt. Maybe you could share a bit about the process?
Thank you 🥰 I'm actually about to start making a bigger quilt for my bed and had thought about documenting the steps in a few videos - it'll be the same sort of style as this one, if that's interesting?
@@threadandyarn That'd be amazing 😍😍

That does make sense, I think you're right 😊 I'll have a look at those patterns, thanks!
Love the relaxed and attentive tone in your videos. I always feel very inspired after watching your channel!
Thanks so much, that's lovely to hear 😊
The Pleidis dress by French Poetry might be an option for the floral fabric
Thank you - I love the buttons down the front of it 😊
I think the smoking in one colour
I think I will do it in one colour! 😊

Hey Lorna: what about the Liberian cardigan by Skeindeern Knits.
Good suggestion, thanks! I hadn't seen this one 😊
Loving the 17th century witch look. Is your blouse hand sewn? Pattern, if so?
Thanks! It's the cyclamen blouse, with some ribbon from my Nanny as a trim 😊
Wash the denim with Coca Cola and that will soften fabric. You may have to wash more then once.
Thanks for the tip! 😊
