@@TangoRomeo87 Dont want to disclose specifics, but got a place all ready thanks to ATC. Log cabin, deep in forest, composting outhouse. Two mountain lakes, one full of trout. Plenty to bow hunt. Place for garden. Spectacular views to valley below. When it's time to beat feet, I'm ready.
Clever idea on the berkey. Sawyer is a great company who helps people in fiji have clean water. Yes, Fiji. Great info, thanks! I'm subscribing for the videos to come.
@@TangoRomeo87 i just recently started prepping. Mainly because i've never had the money to do so, i still not financially able to get some of the things i want to get but i can at least get the less expensive but just as important stuff. Where i live is also a big factor. but i'm doing my best.
As a nature photographer and backpacker, I've used Sawyers, LifeStraws and tablets. As long as you backwash, and prevent from freezing (I put mine in a tube sock), they are great.
This video is chocked full of life-saving information and shows how simple emergency preparedness can be. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.
You may need to survive on your own for several days. Being prepared means having your own food, water and other supplies to last for several days. You gave great advice, Thank You !!
@@jonclemons1421 I hope it helps… I like the big ceramic filters but they are slow. The mini filter is fast and efficient, it has become my go to. Thanks for the feedback.
Love this vid. Those buckets seal tightly. Is there a way to epoxy a Schroeder valve (bike tire valve) on the top bucket lid, so you could use a bike pump to put a little pressure on the dirty water bucket to get it through the filter quicker? Just wondering. That way you could get more water to people in a disaster. Not a ton of pressure, just a few bicycle pumps of pressure to quicken it slightly. Man I'd love to win the filters! Excited! Good luck to all!
Get a Sharpie or other quality marker, and mark your buckets, CLEAN WATER ONLY and DIRTY WATER ONLY. It is too easy to make mistakes. Nice job on the video, short and to the point.
@@sherripizzi1619 the same methods work for rain barrels, cisterns, and other water catchment. We used to have in ground rain water cisterns. We used the Berkey System so we could keep fresh water on hand.
@@Knife_Collector as I demonstrated by drinking water after just the filter, the filter does its job. If you have any doubts the tablets are a good choice for second treatment. The filter does not require tablets, and the tablets don’t require a filter.
@@lynerdos4692 ocean water can’t be filtered with standard filter due to the salt, desalination units are more costly, or it can be distilled first then filtered. These filters in the video won’t work for salt water.
@@jonathanmeywes1425 if it is chemical, petroleum, medical stuff the black Berkey filters would be a first step then ceramic filters. I linked both in the comments. The black filter are the most costly, but they are workhorses against some bad stuff.

If you have to add tablets after filtering the water, did the filter really do it's job? Or is it because the filter is not really trusted?
