Boy, you are right Langford! My overwintered nucs kept bringing in so much nector, I had to keep giving new frames for the queen to lay in. And they would back fill those! I've got some 4 and 5 story deep box nucs. Two 5 story deep box nucs with a medium nuc boxes. We are supposed to be having a week of rain here, so I'm hoping to extract next weekend. I’m gonna start a nuc yard to see what kind of honey I can do and I’m tired of everyone telling me how much fun nuc colonies are lol
You have to micro manage them during swarm season to get the different flavors of honey. I'm in mine every 7 to 8 days

Are the five frame nucs double brood?
When I make honey yes total of 10 deep frames then honey supers. You can put a queen excluder on I do not but the foul mouthed beekeeper does.
