Surprise Wedding Proposal

- On August, 31st 2017 I surprised my girlfriend of over two years with a wedding proposal at a church we attend together. Joy is a piano teacher, so I thought I would teach myself how to play the piano. I had some help from the church band who took it to another level!
After four months of learning & practicing on my own, I was ready to make my move!
Unfortunately, for all the planning I did Joy's brother ruined the surprise 30 minutes before the proposal. Thankfully he didn't know all the details, so that was a positive. Not much of a story to tell. He just didn't approve because Joy & I have an age difference.
I can't say I wasn't devastated that the surprise got revealed, but she still said yes & that's all that matters.
The first song was by Tim Mcgraw, Humble & Kind. I do not own the rights, but I do love the song. My dad passed away when I was 18 & he loved Tim Mcgraw so to me it felt like he was there with us.
The second song was by Charlie Puth, One Call Away. I love this song, but I do not own the rights to this song either. The version I played was doable given my piano experience. Haha.

I noticed you said thanks to everyone but the videographer. Oh wait... you didnt have one. But seriously, you videotaped the preparation, but used still photography for the final product? I was curious why?
@@justglenn1037 I had a photographer but never planned on a video. Did not have a videographer. So I tried piecing together what we had. But this video was never meant to be. Looking back wish I had a videographer.

I was diagnosed with MS several years back, it took over and changed my life. One day after being able to get out of that darn wheelchair, I went for a walk to a local bar and had a cheese burger and a beer. ( it was all I could afford that day. ) That was the day I met Donna. The beginning of something very special happened. We fell in love. After 2 years of being together almost every day, she helping me when my body would not play nice and me helping her with sharing that special part of me she deserved ( my love )
Winter was almost over and on a Saturday night, I stopped by her place to use her internet and download some songs I wanted to learn how to play. ( that was my decoy plan ) I had used most of my savings to live off of as the MS took over my health again. I did some side work, photography and some carpentry to help me buy the ring. That evening we shared a wonderful time watching movies and me playing guitar for her. I made a special dinner that night, set the table, dimmed the lights, had her favorite music playing and waited. We had such a wonderful evening, I went home that night and looked at the ring I had bought, it wasn't too fancy or expensive yet it was for her. Upon waking up the next morning, I got all gussied up in my best tye dye/ jeans combo ( j/k suit and tie ) and went to wake her up to propose.
Arriving at her place I was greeted by a neighbor and the police. I was taken off to the police station for questioning. I had no idea what was going on. The questioning got really personal, then they told me she had passed away during the night. That ring still sits here buy me.
To my dearest love, I know you can hear me. I still love you. Some day soon, we will be together once again.
I'm 61 and my MS is in a remission thing right now. I live each day as it were my last. I help others regardless of race creed or religious belief, that was always my thing, being nice to others and giving rather than receiving. Love is ever lasting

People forget that just because you share your moment it doesn't mean it was for them. I think it's beautiful the effort you put into this and how special she must have felt. I hope you have a lifetime of happiness

Dear surprise proposal , we as humans will always talk, say things to hurt one another. Thats because we live in a sinful world , one that criticise , hates . but at the end brother nothing matters as long as u two take care of each other , love each other , respect each other. God Bless u both

Thanks for all the feedback. We just planned on taking a few photos, but the photographer took some short video clips so I decided to edit them in which I've never done before and it's clear that you guys can tell that LOL. I guess I never planned on more than a few friends and family members to see it. I wish he would have taken video of the whole thing I would have displayed it from beginning to end without all the pictures if I would have known that it would get this many views. Sorry. Wish it was a better edit.

Don't Josh Me , I think the important thing is you BOTH found what's important in your lives. I enjoyed the video and I, personally, do not see an age difference. At this point in your lives, it doesn't matter. You can see the love you both have for each other. As someone else commented, it's not as tho she is 17. I know Joy is bringing you joy! Much happiness to you both.

As a brother myself, I might would sit back and watch cautiously but with an open mind, hopeful heart and pray that God bless you both and bring success and blessings to your union. Now....if you're 30 and she's 17 then let's intervene but if all are adults and you've been open and honest with your church, her family etc, then age difference be danged. Hope for healing in family ties for y'all and many years together. Stay strong and serve Him ⬆️ well!

@@sarahhughes732 sorry lady your facts are wrong 6 out of every 10 marriages end in divorce of those divorces 80%are initiated by the woman for any reason hes right thats only a 40% success rate and of those 40% how many are unhappy or wont divorce because of finances or staying together for the kids it a bad deal for men....always,financial ruin false accusations ruin his life and career her turning his kids against him,just a bad deal,and mostly laws that favor women i see as the main reason TO NEVER MARRY
