The Peony is best known by its scientific name, Paeonia. This stunning flower is an official emblem of China. The Chinese name for peony means "beautiful" and in Chinese culture the flowers represent prosperity and honor. In Western culture, the peony serves as the symbol for the 12th wedding anniversary, and in the language of flowers, represents a good fortune and a happy marriage because the blossoms of the peony flower is round which symbolizes money. The generous look of the peony flower also represents a fortune in romance thus symbolizing a happy marriage. Another meaning for peony flower connotes compassion, bashfulness and shame. This is because according to some legends, nymphs who are shy and bashful to show themselves to humans tend to hide on the petals of the peonies. Again since the peony flower has generous petals, some associate it with compassion. As soon as I first saw them, I was impressed by the huge, dense flowers, and their colors, if you call it scarlet, carmine or simply red, the intense color of these Red Charm Peonies is undeniably irresistible.
