Edo state produces palm oil more than the states you mentioned. Apart from Okomu oil, Presco and NIFOR which produces oil in quantity/ large scale, it is normal to find some individual palm plantations in the interior of Edo. One thing I will not fail to tell you is , thank you for this great and very informative video. Well done.
Well said, Edo state was the largest producer of palm oil in pre colonial Nigeria. The emperor of the Benin empire the Oba of Benin used to make £1 billion British pounds on palm oil trade alone in the 1700s. He was so rich that his refusal to stop trading with the British to protect the local economy and the harmonious relations between his people caused the fall of Benin. Because the British were a despicable bunch without honour was the reason why Britain destroyed and burnt down Benin city so they can seize the plantations and stop paying a penny for it as was customary to their race to steal everything as a race of pirates and economic parasites in the 1400 because they were the poorest race on earth. This knock of effects and the destruction of the region and its plunder made people abandon their plantation and the lack of competent and intelligent leadership in Nigeria. People now assume incorrectly that Delta and Edo states no longer have the capacity or capability to mass produce palm kennels for palm oil and industrial use. Delta and Edo states should once again lead Nigeria as the major producers of palm oil as the region is best suited for its cultivation. I am sure that if one is willing to travel you can buy it in large quantities from indigenous local farmers if the government can build roads into the interior villages and hamlets to help farmers. Our youths should be put to work. Nigeria now imports palm oil while we were the world’s largest producers until the white msn convinced our stupid leaders that it causes cancer and we should buy their unhealthy processed oils. While they came to collect our seeds to Malaysia. I am glad that our people are returning to the land. We must produce what we consume.
