Grimgar could have been the best Isekai as it isn't straight forward like the others and explores the difficulties of living a life in another environment, having to deal with hunting as it really should be and various other situations that 99% of isekai tend to forget, or simply solve it with "magic", with no logic.
I honestly got frustrated with the MC in the novel. I get it, the world went topsy turvy and through all the curveballs except "Tada! You are now female too!" at him...but his adaptability is so low it got cringy as shit.
Not surprised, considering the anime wasn't all that striking for me to even recommend it to other people. It's a nice mid anime like Musashi or studio Ghibli movies, opinion might change once it becomes mainstreamed-but that's all ik atm

I haven`t seen any comment about this so i will add How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom. The main character isn`t op but the world building is great and how he takes science and history from our world to make a country (in a world with magic) prosper is really entertaining. Also the new series The Eminence in Shadow is dope.
The romance is a real shit and disgrace to the show honestly. It would be decent if they had focused on just one main heroine rather than turning into a run of the mill Harem
Hell no, Re:Zero beats it by a mile. Re:Zero’s dark plot with the brutality of it and combining that with the harem/isekai aspect of it makes it unrivaled.

Mushoku Tensei IS the best of the isekai. The LNs are among the best books ive ever read, and Ive read ALOT of books. I hope we can get the whole thing adapted.
For the past couple of days, I've been binge-watching all of these. Some I've loved and were the best isekai animes I've watched but others were either just not my style or a bit slow of a storyline. It's okay if they're slow but like Grimgar, it's hard for me to retain an interest in the beginning but eventually, it'll get better.
I’ve really been enjoying So I’m A Spider So What. Where the character does indeed start weak and we watch her level up but by switching from the future and past we know she is going to be very OP
I've been so deep into Isekai these last 3years (thanks to the pandemic lock-downs) and i've seen most of these. I got here as i am searching for some other good anime isekai because I've been too jaded already to "try" anything but what i deem to be worthwhile watch (or read, believe me, there's tons to read now of the genre, literally tons) and not waste my viewing time. So imagine my surprise in realizing Inuyasha and Digimon that i grew up with is actually of Isekai genre...LOL. I have conditioned myself in the fact that modern isekai anime genre begun a long time ago as just a trivial part of story plot and it was SAO that really pushed the genre to the forefront. Mushoku tensei def deserves #1 it's made me cry 2 times and the way the deliver the story is just perfect with surprisingly good comedy I don't laugh at much anime bc translation sucks but it's gotten me a few good laughs. If u haven't seen it it's a must see NOW.

“Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World” is my best. It’s an anime that’s on border of hentai. But aside from how good its ecchi scenes are, the slow and more realistic progression of MC while leveling up and creating a new life for himself in a new world captured me. While watching, I said many times that I would do the same things if in the place of MC.
In the Web novel, MC nails his cousin (1st gen) of 'Jobless Reincarnation'. Yet people deny the hell out of it, which makes me giggle due to their escapism. It might have been changed in official light novel, manga and anime, but the redhead in the web novel was his cousin.
TenSura was the only new one that made me change opinion abt Isekai shows again bc it has the freshest take on the genre with a great story and an actual mc that's likeable, charming and fun personality. It's so good, I sometimes almost thought it belonged the likes of shonen.
try mushoku tensei bro its animation and writing as well as character development is beautiful and the story is amazing just wait cus theres a plot twist which sets the anime up right halfway through

I like overlord too. Not because "hehe anime girl look nice!" but because the guy is still an average dude, but he has to act like he's the strongest being in the world because HE IS. If he doesn't he is afraid he might be shunned, it's always so funny watching this guy BS his way out of every situation. He's also actually skilled too, he's supposed to be the pvp mastermind of the entire guild, and he already is pretty smart. But he's not as smart as Albedo or Demiurge, but they always act like he's 50 steps ahead of them and never really explain their plans, so he just kind of wings it and somehow ends up doing their plans because it's actually a pretty sensible thing to do. But it's funny because it's not a no-life, he's a normal guy in society, he had to be otherwise he would have been kicked out of the guild. I'm explaining it horribly but basically I like smart normal job having guy having to figure out how to act like a calm collected and cool op lord of basically everything.
Although its not a Isekai the Anime "Dororo" follow a baby who's Arms, Eyes, Skin, and Legs were all taken from the demons the father made a deal, to later grow up and try to get his body parts back by killing the demons who stole his body parts. Its a dark and gruesome anime but it has some nice, and kind moments. I recommend it as it has a good story plot as well.

Season 1 was fire. Season 2 lost some of that dungeon flair that made Season 1 so good. But it world built that was good. If they'd just do away with the stupid child, and maybe the bunny girl. They could stop wasting time on useless heroes.

Nothing on this list will top drifters. The historic theme with fantasy & amazing fight scenes. Unique animation coupled with great dark moments. The only thing it lacks is more episodes. It is the best above all else.
Not to mention, the drifters are also from historical real life people, with the same name and similar body characteristics, each having their own unique abilities.
The Re:Zero vs. Mushoku Tensei argument will never end unless the seasons yet to air end up being worse. Glad to see Grimgar and Drifters on the list, though I think they should be higher.

Well Overlord is No1 for me, Reincarnated slime 2nd and mushoku as 3rd and 4th Rezero and 5th Tanya the evil. I can even say i love Tanya the evil so much i like to say my most but i say it's my most entertaining isakai anime.
We both have the same taste of isekai anime but I highly recommend you to watch drifters trust me is worth of your time 😉 Although the animation is kinda different compared to what you've chosen but the plot is kinda amazing

Drifters, NGNL, Inuyasha, Devil is a part timer, and angel beats should all be in the top 10. Jobless reincarnation should be lower imo. SAO and Welcome to Demon School Iruma kun should definitely be in the bottom half. They're both unoriginal and filled with clichés. But then again, the isekai genre has been milked like no tomorrow. So I guess that's to be expected.

I don't understand while Re:Zero is so high. I watched all seasons and yes, first few episodes are awesome and the idea is neat but then it just falls into another basic storyline using cliché characters :/

I like overlord too. Not because "hehe anime girl look nice!" but because the guy is still an average dude, but he has to act like he's the strongest being in the world because HE IS. If he doesn't he is afraid he might be shunned, it's always so funny watching this guy BS his way out of every situation. He's also actually skilled too, he's supposed to be the pvp mastermind of the entire guild, and he already is pretty smart. But he's not as smart as Albedo or Demiurge, but they always act like he's 50 steps ahead of them and never really explain their plans, so he just kind of wings it and somehow ends up doing their plans because it's actually a pretty sensible thing to do. But it's funny because it's not a no-life, he's a normal guy in society, he had to be otherwise he would have been kicked out of the guild. I'm explaining it horribly but basically I like smart normal job having guy having to figure out how to act like a calm collected and cool op lord of basically everything.

Although its not a Isekai the Anime "Dororo" follow a baby who's Arms, Eyes, Skin, and Legs were all taken from the demons the father made a deal, to later grow up and try to get his body parts back by killing the demons who stole his body parts. Its a dark and gruesome anime but it has some nice, and kind moments. I recommend it as it has a good story plot as well.

Nothing on this list will top drifters. The historic theme with fantasy & amazing fight scenes. Unique animation coupled with great dark moments. The only thing it lacks is more episodes. It is the best above all else.
Not to mention, the drifters are also from historical real life people, with the same name and similar body characteristics, each having their own unique abilities.

Well Overlord is No1 for me, Reincarnated slime 2nd and mushoku as 3rd and 4th Rezero and 5th Tanya the evil. I can even say i love Tanya the evil so much i like to say my most but i say it's my most entertaining isakai anime.
We both have the same taste of isekai anime but I highly recommend you to watch drifters trust me is worth of your time 😉

SAO and Welcome to Demon School Iruma kun should definitely be in the bottom half. They're both unoriginal and filled with clichés. But then again, the isekai genre has been milked like no tomorrow. So I guess that's to be expected.
