Jennifer- this was wonderful! I think Kelly is a vocal master and is somewhat underrated because she’s not a diva.
I feel like some singers are scared to duet with Kelly, but she's such a generous duet partner. There's no overpowering and she harmonizes so well while still being Kelly Clarkson. Great analysis as always.
I discovered Kelly Clarkson in my adolescence, and this song really struck me as her most beautiful piece. Even though I still haven't been able to breakaway, this song has stuck with me always, reminding me that I will someday.

This song is so freaking nostalgic. I absolutely loved the Princess Diaries growing up and this song was the most uplifting part of the movie. So many memories. And of course Kelly is the best, but I really enjoyed the harmony changes as well.

"bunged up" ... so I guess we'll not be hearing you singing much for a bit, or at least you'll be sticking to those lower notes. 😁 Yes this is a pretty song. A very nice duet! And yeah I get what you're saying about being a bit lazy with the words on that higher part ... In fact "Swinging around revolving doors" by Kelly was in the wrong key. To be precise, her pitch should be lowered to that of a male singer. I can't express this clearly. But that is not important, this show is still excellent
I know I'm late to the party, and this might not be a big thing for you, but thank you for using Sam's correct pronouns. As a trans person, hearing you effortlessly use they/them for Sam really let's me know what kind of folk you are. Love the break down also, obviously.
