    Taking someone’s Led Zeppelin journey for the first Time is so enjoyable. I’ve been listening to and loving Led Zeppelin since 1973 and love to watch the appreciation and or surprise on the faces of the newbies. Also I get reminded again of why I anticipated and purchased every new record that came out once discovered. Music stores used to be the spot for young people to hang out.

      @ JAM Same here, it was '73 when I started smoking weed and loving Zeppelin, although I loved Stairway to Heaven when it came out in '71, but I was a big Beatles fan then

    I've been listening to Led Zep for over 3 decades and if I was to pick a favorite song this would probably be it. The way it blends the elements of folk and rock, acoustic and electric, heavy and soft...is absolute perfection and crystallizes the essence of the band. The outro is absolutely mind blowing with the overdubbing of Plant's vocals.

    • @emmanuelflores9983
      @emmanuelflores9983  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow, I really like how you describe the song. It’s full of juxtapositions and I love that. A concept that would’ve seemed far fetched for many, but completely reasonable for this band!

    Thank You for doing this, and taking me back to those carefree days driving up with friends as kids to the many nearby hotsprings in the mountains here, dosed very heavily on LSD, as colors just pouring out of the speakers with each not of Jimmy John John and Roberts impeccability. I can not even begin to describe the feelings of happenstance, wanderlust, anxiety mixed with calm, and sorry mixed with joy as we went into the nights wilderness with complete reckless abandon yet complete confidence as we knew Led Zeppelin would always Bring us On Home. And yes, many times we found that wizard
    I tell you what,, growing up, was like Gollum, and the Evil one, crept up and slipped away with her... (My Precious, My Youth).

    Believe it or not, Bonham was there throughout. That soft pattering during the verses was him pattering with his hands on a guitar case (or something, because I've seen different stories). Two, of the many, things Jimmy was good at; letting instruments shine and not burying them in the mix, and layering several guitar parts to create a lush sonic image (he called it his "guitar army"). Thanks for the reaction.

    This is one of the best albums ever. There are very few albums where every song is good. You might want to try Black Sabbeths first album, or The Who's "Who's Next". Emerson Lake And Palmer"s first album is also unbelievably good. They are all from this same few years. I would suggest Beatles albums but they would be blocked instantly. "The Yes Album" is wonderful, and so is "A Question Of Balance" by The Moody Blues". The Rolling Stones "Beggars Banquet" was great and shows how incredibly tallented they were, exploring blues, rock, and country all on one album. It was a great time to be alive.

    I’d like to recommend you a band called Metallica. They are the Led Zeppelin of the 80’s but rock and roll had already fallen off by then. A good start is with a song they made called, “Fade To Black”. The guitarist, Kirk Hammet, is the greatest guitar soloist I’ve ever heard and maybe better than Jimmie. You should give them a listen at least once. They are the most successful American band for a reason.
